Great location, helpful staff

Thanks to Salina and Saif for making our first time in the Maldives unforgettable. The hotel is very cute, very Maldivian style with little details that make your stay very special. There is the choice of a nice Maldivian breakfast as well as other choices. Location is just perfect as well

Slight smell in the bathroom however you are on a small island so not an issue as understandable

Regarding the full day trip we were slightly deceived, as the offer states sharks and stingrays as two different snorkel points, but they just feed the animals at one point (which we are not a fan of). Just a small detail: towels are not changed everyday.

Clean and big room (we were changed to a family room due to a system error). The personnel was really kind and the breakfast options were nice. The location was great, as it was just a few meters from the bikini beach. We greatly appreciated the possibility of checking in earlier and leaving our luggage free of cost the last day for a couple of hours.

I was at Sandy for 6 nights. Location of hotel is excellent- it's 1 minute walking from Bikini beach. My room was very good and very clean. The breakfast had 3 options - I tried every option available and all of them were very good. I definitly would go again if I am at Gulhi again.

It's just that the receptionist is a bit difficult to talk to. Some language barriers. The Aircon is located above the headboard and it's noisy. Couldn't sleep that much

Unfortunately the bathroom smelled and we had problems with the lights of the room and bathroom but they repaired them soon. In general the room didn’t have enough light. I like to have my shower towel every time after used changed because it’s very damp and they don’t dry very well. But we always had to ask many times to change them.

The staff are very nice and helpful. It’s very close to the bikini beach and local shops. The breakfast was delicious and nicely prepared.

The wi-fi can at times be a bit unpredictable and the view was not the greatest. Otherwise, no issues

The driving force of my experience was the staff as they will go out of their way to make sure you have a good time whilst staying at Sandy Heaven. My room was nice and clean, nicely decorated and the A/c worked wonders. The hotel is less than 3 minutes from the beach and very well located. The breakfast is nice touch too. The host arranged for a transfer for me from Gulf to Maafushi and also booked me in to do an excursion, which I was having trouble booking myself so I am very grateful for that.

I had the room in the ground floor, next to reception and breakfast area, so it was loud in the morning. Breakfast could be a bit more "interesting" you have only two options, so everyday the same..

The guys from the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Bikini beach is very close and very beautiful! It's a very small and quiet island, most of the locals are very friendly.

Breakfast was tasty, there wasn't so much variety, but enough food for a complete meal.

We had an amazing experience in Gulhi island especially regarding local culture, as it is a perfect occasion to explore authentic Maldivian life, people are extremely friendly and kind. Sandy Heaven has the kindest and most helpful staff so we easily befriended them (Saif - who exceeded our hospitality expectations, Shivoo and the manager Thaathi). The cleaning service is daily, the accomodation offers you various trip options which were profesionally organized. The staff also helped us with speedboat transfers (airport and other islands).

The only problem we had was the noise. Being at the ground floor, near the breakfast area, it gets quite noisy from 6 am to 9 pm.

They charge you 5% more for credit card payments which seems a bit old fashioned these days.

They didn’t let us know the building is still in construction. So starting from the morning we could only hear drills. They are pretty understaffed. The bathroom didn’t contain soap, I would advise providing it. We had our cosmetics so that is why we didn’t ask. But it had shampoo and shower gel which is good. The breakfast was the same everyday and pretty basic. We were told we don’t have meals options for lunch and dinner, but then we saw people eating at their place. They also advertise that they have a restaurant. We had our meals in other restaurant and it was very tasty. Gulhi is not at its best during this time. They are extanding the island, everything is a site. I think in maybe one year from now the place will be better if they finish the construction and pay attention to the details.

Overall it was nice, but it wasn’t the best experience, especially comparing with the accomodation that we had in Fulidhoo. So I’m not comparing with resort, I know it is a local island and they try to do their best. They helped us booking speedboats and printing our tickets. We had water, tea, coffee in the room. We had hot water. We also had a nice trip with them.

The bed is really comfortable! Very near to the bikini beach. All the staff are accommodating and helpful.
