How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe hotel is modest but very good value for the price. We booked half board: the food was good, although there were not many options to choose from, but everything served was tasty. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, especially with our children. On the day we left, they even prepared a picnic for us, which was a lovely detail. The bikini beach is just a few steps away, which makes it very convenient. Overall, a great experience for a relaxing stay in Dhiffushi.
The only downside was that the view from our room was not very nice, as it overlooked a rooftop.

Verified reviewThat was our 4th island and hotel in the Maldives, the worst in the every way. The island is quite nice. Yes, it is 150m to a very small beach with a view of the port, shared by several hotels. A longer and nicer beach is on the other side of the island. There's nothing positive to say about the hotel.
Sky Beach is the worst-located hotel on the island. The hotel is very worn out, in a very poor location in relation to local attractions. We had a room on the 3rd floor, the elevator was not working throughout our stay. There was a cockroach the size of a spoon in the bed. Mold was present next to the bed on the wall. The view from the window was of the side wall of the building with an air conditioning unit. The nearest beach is about 150 m away, but it is very small with a view of the port, the nearby resort island, and boats passing by very close. A nice beach is on the other side of the island, about 1 km away. Similarly, good restaurants where we went to eat even breakfast. Breakfast at the hotel was very unappetizing and cold: sausages, omelet. One fruit (watermelon), one cake. The only edible things were toast and tuna salad (but it only appeared once). The pool is completely useless and right next to the dining area, not to be confused with a restaurant, because there is none in the hotel. I wouldn't wish for anyone to find themselves in this hotel during their dream vacation.

We enjoyed our trip so much and this hotel is one the reason I was so worried if the room is not comfortable, but is so good so quiet and good bed and bathroom clean Their food is so delicious and no need out restaurant, we tried outside foods and they were more expensive and less quality, so i suggest reserving include the food
There is so many building under construction, and workers are working, their sound in the beach it’s not nice but what can do… But the sound is not coming in the room, that’s good.

Verified reviewCleaning perfect. Beautiful room. Big bed. Big bathroom with brand new furniture. Friendly helpful staff. The staff at sky restaurant is very friendly and professional! I appreciated the buggy ride particularly: at our arrival, a hotel staff member picked us up with an electric car at jetty terminal and brought us to the hotel, same thing at departure
Maybe rooftop needs a bit more light especially if one wants to have dinner. Also some dishes in the menu were not available.

Verified reviewThe food was delicious, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The location was perfect—just a stone's throw from Bikini Beach, near Kettle Restaurant and Sunset Beach, making it easy to enjoy the best of the area.
The Wi-Fi connection was a bit unstable at times, but the staff were kind enough to promptly provide us with new access codes whenever needed, so it all worked out in the end.

Verified reviewSky Beach is well located near the main area in the north of Dhiffushi with plenty of cafes, shops and restaurants around. The staff was always very helpful and responsive. The first night we had a pipe burst in the bathroom ceiling and water leaking out (luckily in the shower!) Staff fixed it very quickly the next day. The hotel also arranges excursions - dolphin watching, snorkeling, sand bank, etc. Prices are good and they aren't pushy about selling them either. Breakfast was good, although very repetitive so after a few days it would be nice if they would change things. They do sometimes also have Maldivian food which was great. Our room was large, with two double beds (family room). Sky Beach is also one of the few hotels on the island with a pool, which was great to have (our kids loved it!)
