-beautiful private beach -quiet excursions (no other people on any of them other than the guests from the hotel) -amazing food -amazing host/manager -gym on top floor -never had to lift a finger as Armeen and the friendly staff organised everything -friendly staff at nearby shops -It was far from Male and the 4 hour boat is long. However, you can take the seaplane on certain days which i did. Absolutely amazing experience! Ameen organised it all.

We had the most delightful stay at Stay Mikado! There is a rubbish/plastic problem on some parts of the island, it’s incredibly sad to see, but this is NOT a reflection on Stay Mikado!

Stay Mikado is an incredible place if you are looking for a fun and exciting holiday and adventure! Locals and Stay Mikado team are more than exceptional people! Friendly and very welcoming! Ameen (your host) has it thought through to the last T. He will go out his way to make your holiday unforgettable! Ameen will organise your transfer to and from the island for a pre-negotiated rate with Maldivian Aero - you will get your tickets at check-in at the domestic airport where Ameen’s team member will greet and guide you. Ameen responds fast to any questions you may have! So ask away! The island has a few simple rules as it has a 100% Muslim community - covering your shoulders is simple and easy, don’t forget to take your shoes off - respect their culture. Within the hotel as well as around 10mins down the road you can dress down as you wish as the island has a private beach. Here you can also find the most incredible coral reef or just get a tan! Bring a ball and play volleyball or just relax on the sun beds with a book! The hotel offers a free drop off and pick up service if you don’t fancy walking in the heat! If you are lucky the locals will also treat you to a fresh coconut straight from the trees! This boutique hotel is sparkling clean, with comfortable beds offering all you need. All rooms have air conditioning. You have laundry service available and food is delicious. Alternative food is also available from the menu with unlimited water to drink. Activities and excursions are reasonably priced and a whole load of fun suitable for adults and children alike. Some are less suitable so consider the age and swimming abilities first. The hotel has a lounge filled with games - pool, ping-pong table and other fun games will fill your evening. No alcohol is served on the island, but the mocktails are nice and refreshing. Stay Mikado has recently purchased their very own island! Right, it’s all yours to enjoy!

I wish everyone could experience a vacation like this. It’s different from other resorts in the Maldives because, with a capacity of around 20 people, you are not just a guest but part of the family. Everyone can do their own thing. If you want an active vacation, you can book a trip at the reception. If you just want to relax, the private beach, rooftop, gym, or spa is the perfect place for you. The hotel is located on Thimarafushi Island, and everyone is incredibly welcoming. Even if you’re traveling alone as a woman, there’s no sense of threat. A big plus is the lounge just across the street, where you can play games like pool, table tennis, air hockey, and more. After this vacation, where I tried surfing, snorkeling, jet skiing, and swimming with mantas, I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Even the food was delicious! I have celiac disease, which makes it harder for me, but the staff always told me what I could or couldn’t eat. If they didn’t have a gluten-free dessert, I got ice cream instead. I would like to thank the owner for the best trip of my life. I can assure you that this won’t be my last visit to this paradise.

While our experience at Stay Mikado was fantastic, we couldn’t help but notice the plastic waste problem in the Maldives. Unfortunately, there is a lot of trash washing up on the beaches, which is disheartening for such a beautiful destination. However, we want to highlight that this is not the fault of Stay Mikado. In fact, they are doing a great job to address this issue by keeping their premises clean and raising awareness about environmental conservation.

The surfing and snorkeling opportunities were truly world-class. The uncrowded surf spots in the Thaa Atoll are ideal for both seasoned surfers and beginners. The snorkeling trips were equally impressive, with vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life that left us in awe. The staff at Stay Mikado were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the overall ambiance of the guesthouse was peaceful and welcoming.

The service at Stay Mikado is excellent. They go out of their way to make your trip easy and fun. From the airport service in Male to the excursions on the island, they are always attentive to your needs. "We had a lovely stay on the island. All the staffs were wonderful, the rooms were lovely and food was delicious!" Ameen did everything to make sure we had an amazing stay and we will forever be grateful. They also decorated our room for our wedding anniversary for free and it was so nice,beautiful and special. We Highly recommended.

That I did not book longer stay 😂 everything was perfect!

I absolutely loved everything about my first solo trip at Stay Mikado, never once did I feel bored, unsafe, or unwelcome! The staff were incredibly kind and attentive to every need, Ameen will make sure you have the best of everything. Stay mikado It’s just a short bike ride to a beautiful local private beach and a 5-minute walk to the boat ride. The place offers a karaoke room, diverse entertainment options, snorkeling, surfing… just to name a few, BBQ on private island and to stay in shape and unwind at the gym and spa. At night, you can stay on the terrace and enjoy stunning star-gazing.

My experience at Stay Mikado was perhaps the best of my life. Not only was I taken care of and supported in every possible way, but I also had the pleasure of meeting wonderful people and truly experiencing the breathtaking beauty of the Maldives. 🌴🌊 First and foremost, Ameen is a remarkable human being and the best host you could wish for. From the moment I arrived, he arranged and adapted everything for a smooth arrival, a splendid stay, and an easy departure. He has crafted a sanctuary at Stay Mikado, ensuring that everyone has the best possible experience. We went surfing 🏄‍♂️, snorkeling 🤿, and even visited his private island for an even more exquisite adventure that you wouldn't normally access so easily (see attached photos). With every activity, he made sure to stay in harmony with nature. He knows which animals to touch, which ones to observe, and which ones to leave alone. Whether above or below water, Ameen ensures your safety—no need to worry if you're afraid of sharks! 😉🦈 He knows the islands like the back of his hand, and his expertise is evident in every interaction. Ameen’s team, who prepared delicious food at the restaurant 🍽️, drove us to snorkeling spots 🚤, and assisted with luggage, provided service that was beyond excellent. The hotel itself is incredibly luxurious, especially for the price. There is also a restaurant on-site, and if you fancy karaoke, you can enjoy that too 🎤. If I could give 20 stars, I would ⭐️. And I have stayed in many places, but this is now my absolute number one recommendation. So, if you visit the Maldives, I can only urge you to come here. Not even a resort can match the value offered at Stay Mikado. This experience will fill your heart as it did mine. Stay Mikado is home for me, and I will certainly come back. Nothing really, but a few more sunbeds on the tourist beach would be great.

Our vacation started at once we landed in Male. Representatives of Stay Mikado helped us with all the logistics, since we had to stay overnight in a local hotel for an early next morning speedboat trip to Thimarafushi island. When we got to Stay Mikado, Ameen and his staff took very good care of us for the whole duration of our stay. Ameen and his staff are amazing in hospitality and care for every need. The hotel is situated at a local island and we had a nice and clean double room with breakfast, lunch and dinner included. The food was very tasty and we ate with good appetite. The hotel also has a small gym, SPA room, and on the rooftop there is a large terrace if you want to relax and also with a nice view of the island, where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset. Hotel WiFi is good. Across from the hotel there is a leisure area where you can play table tennis, billiards and some other games. There are free bikes for the guests to use. Stay Mikado has a tourist beach just a few minutes away. We visited it a lot and had long baths in the warm water. Everyday from the hotel you can go by boat on different excursions to nearby islands - snorkeling, diving, fishing and surfing. Prices for the trips ar very reasonable too. The hotel owns a private island that is a must see and is really worth a day trip, including bbq and beautiful beaches, stand up paddle boards, glass bottom kayak etc. Ameen and his staff at Stay Mikado will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and relaxed during your stay in Thimarafushi. We had a really nice vacation and would like to recommend this hotel to people who wants to see the real Maldives.

Affordable Maldives with lots of great experiences! Ameen is really very handy, he puts his heart into it and nothing is a problem for him. He is almost always online and willing to arrange everything. Be sure to take part in the program, especially the trips to the uninhabited island which also belongs to Ameen. Very suitable for solo female travellers, everything is safe and you will meet new people.

Very nice, newly refurbished hotel on a local island. Our suite was very spaceous, comfortable, clean and modern. Looks exacly like in advertised pictures. Hotel has a small gym, SPA room, nice leisure area where you can play ping pong, table pool, some other games. On the rooftop there is a large terrace if you want to relax in hamak with the nice areal view of the island, watch a colorful maldivien sunset or drink a cup of tea and read a book. Hotel has a private beach just a few minutes away. Also hotel owns a private island nearby, so if you want to spend a day on the postcard worthy beach it's the place for you. There are free bikes for guest use - if you want to explore island, or ride to the private beach. However the biggest treasure in this hotel is its staff. They will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Everyone is genuinely friendly, very polite and helpfull. Hospitality begins even before arrival to Timarafushi island. In Male, upon arrival, you will be met by hotel representative and everything will be aranged for you - transfers, hotel in Male (if you need one in transfer), flights, speedboats - basicaly whatever you need. You just book the room, send your arrival/departure to/from Male info and you can go straight on holiday mode :) Special shout out to Ameen - you do a great job! Everyday from this hotel you can go on a boat trip - snorkeling, diving, nearby island, private island with sand bank, to watch the dolphins, you can have beach barbeque - all will be aranged by hotel staff. Prices for the trips ar very reasonable too. Overall we had a very nice holiday and hope to come back soon again! Thank you to each and everyone at Mikado!

I had a great time at Stay Mikado! The hotel is located on a small island with everything you need including stores and a pharmacy. The hotel is new with modern renovation, nice and spacious rooms. Every day we were organized transfer to neighboring islands where we could relax surrounded by tropics and turquoise warm water. For lovers of active rest it was possible to do snorkeling and diving, night fishing. Thank you very much hotel owner-Amin, he made this vacation unforgettable and I will definitely go back there again!

I traveled with a toddler and Stay Mikado helped me to fulfill my holidays with joy. I’m grateful for pleasure I had. The staff became the real friends to us without any hypocrisy. 1. Room was daily cleaned brightly and fresh. Snow white satin bed linings and extra size bed were suitable for tight sleeping. Two bottles of fresh water daily renewed. Toiletries, hairdryer, iron and board are equipped as well. AC properly saved us every night. Every tiny request was immediately solved. The whole guesthouse is well maintained and clean. Thank you Manor for all you did. 2. Meal was specific for this country I think, that is amazing to immerse in local culture that is mixing of Indian, Arabic and some African accent. Chef and his staff were always opened to cook a suitable for me and my child meal. That was amazing! They did a really great job and astonished with catering on islands and beach! So wow! Pradeep, Dharun and others stay cool, you are professional team! 3. About entertainment and supply. Holidays with kid is supposed to have a little bit of problems anyway. However I met helpful and super child friendly team! Every activity was modified for baby and considered his safety. Thanks to Mohamed for his care sailing across the ocean with us. The team found time to spoil me with yoga practice and snorkeling while baby was comforting by them. 4. A few words about Ameen, the owner of this great project Stay Mikado. Even a long essay can’t describe his adorable and friendly hospitality. He is a kind of human who bringing joy and energy. Always..daily he is with every guest! Every minute with every guest. No one without his attention. Incredible man. He even brought candies from another part of the world as because I just wanted it. 5. What about Thimarafushi and the accommodation location - for calm holidays on nature without seaport fuss. Yes, there is no any sightseeing by walk but it worths to take a 10-20 minutes by sea ride and you are in a postcard paradise.

There are no minuses, but just a small suggestion, maybe it would be good to have a first aid kit in the hotel.

The first time that our accommodation was like in the pictures. The accommodation was cleaned every day, the food was phenomenal, all three meals, service and staff without any complaints, Ameen was always at your service, he was open to all questions and help. He met us at the airport and facilitated an easy return to the airport. We are absolutely delighted with everything, excursions, beach, people, all recommendations, I hope we will come back soon. Excellent for people who want to rest completely, it is a very small island, and it is also ideal for surfing.
