How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

From the moment we arrived until the day we left, everything was beyond perfect – this resort truly exceeded all of our expectations and gave us memories we will cherish forever. The villa with the private pool was stunning – beautifully designed, immaculately clean, and the perfect mix of luxury and tranquillity. Every little detail felt carefully thought-out, creating an atmosphere of peace and romance that we didn’t want to leave. What made our stay even more special was the incredible staff, whose warmth and professionalism made us feel not just welcomed, but genuinely cared for. A special thank you to Arsham, who was our dedicated host. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and was always just a message away – friendly, attentive, and so kind throughout our stay. We’ll never forget Jay, who absolutely blew us away with the honeymoon decorations in our room. It was such a beautiful surprise, and the effort and thoughtfulness behind it genuinely touched our hearts. Chef Mukesh created the best dinner of our lives – a custom honeymoon meal that was not only delicious but tailored exactly to our preferences. It was more than just a dinner; it was a memory we’ll always hold close. We’re also so thankful to Dr. Tha, who was there for us when we needed medical support. Calm, reassuring, and professional – his presence gave us peace of mind and showed just how much VARU cares about its guests’ well-being. And then there was Heni, whose warmth and genuine hospitality made us feel so at home. She looked after us with such care and attentiveness – it’s the kind of service that leaves a lasting impression. Truly though, every single member of staff at VARU was exceptional. From the front desk team to the restaurant staff, buggy drivers, spa team, and housekeeping – everyone greeted us with smiles and treated us with such respect and kindness.
No bikes, only transport was a small buggy that you had to request and wait for but had to walk. Other than that, it was perfect.

Verified reviewEverything was excellent! The staff - at the restaurants, at the dive club, at the sports club - all so very polite, accommodating and friendly! Nothing that we asked was too much! The accommodation - a small island with everything at a 5-10min walking distance and yet we never felt it was really crowded. We had the family beach villa which fit our three kids on one side and us on the other, with a total of 4 showers, 2 baths, 2 toilets and plenty of space. The housekeeping came 2 times per day - our villa was kept super neat by Somon (thank you for entertaining the kids with all the towel animals!!) The activities - we enjoyed some sports classes and snorkelling which were all great! Thanks to AJ for the top snorkelling with turtles and sharks as well as uncountable number of fish species! Thanks also to Keshab for keeping us fit with your functional training and yoga, we really enjoyed it! The restaurants - an exceptional variety of food at the buffet restaurant Lime&Chili - with every day a mix of Asian and Western cuisine. We could have stayed way longer and not having tasted all the available tastes! Thanks to Chhaya and all her colleagues for taking such good care of us during every meal!

The transport was a shared transportation which wasted the first day, booked an all inclusive room but many activities were not included due to a minimum of 4 nights that was not highlighted previously.

Verified reviewIf you are looking for a true worry-free package, then go for Varu, Everything was perfect, and after 5 nights, i paid extra fees of around 300$ as i did not need to spend at all during my stay ( everything you need is included in the package ) except the motorised water activities The overall spirit of the employees was lovely, everyone meeting you with a mile and a willingness to help You might find cheaper options, but you don't know how much you will need to spend in the resort The room was spacious, and we had amazing direct access to the beach

The meals were always varied and delicious, and the resort staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Special thanks to: Kitty for the amazing massage, Mondal for the delicious beverages, Shafan for the fantastic cocktails, and Zune, who provided us with so much helpful information and fulfilled every request immediately with a smile. The location was breathtaking—honestly even more beautiful than in the pictures. Everyone was so attentive, anticipating our needs without ever being intrusive. The open-air bathroom was also a unique and wonderful experience. We felt truly cared for and relaxed throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewEverything!!! Complimentary speed boats, the variation with the food, we stayed in a water villa and it was amazing!!! Sharks and so many fish straight off the deck! The spa was gorgeous. We stayed for 5 nights so had 2 restaurant bookings too. The rooms are cleaned twice daily and minibar stocked up daily. It was perfect there really is not one thing you can criticise. The staff cannot do enough for you + constantly ask if you want any more drinks or anything at all. I have never been to a resort with such exceptional staff. Paradise!!!
