We had a fantastic 5-night stay at Velana Vibes on Mathiveri. Although our flight delay caused us to miss the last boat, the host Munzir kindly arranged a night in Malé at his own expense and offered to cover taxi costs – a truly generous gesture. On the island, his assistant Imma took great care of us throughout the stay – from preparing delicious breakfasts to organizing our return transfer and even lending umbrellas during rain. The guesthouse is modern, very clean, and well maintained. Our room was spacious, air-conditioned, with a private bathroom and daily cleaning. There’s a lovely shaded lounge/dining area, free use of a washing machine and a drinking water dispenser – thoughtful extras that made a big difference. The location is perfect – just a few minutes’ walk to the bikini beach, local shops, and restaurants. When we were briefly stranded on a picnic island due to a storm, Imma quickly arranged a boat to bring us back. The hosts also offered a short buggy tour around the island to introduce key spots. They provide a variety of excursions and activities too. Overall, Velana Vibes was an excellent choice – friendly hosts, great service, and a peaceful island setting. Thank you Munzir and Imma – we hope to come back!

Excellent service! The staff, specifically Imma was very friendly, extremely kind and very helpful, and made our stay comfortable. Clean rooms and a great location. Highly recommend! Loved the very simple yet very well presented breakfast. The last minute trip arrangement to the sandbank was the highlight. Perfect for a getaway trip. Thanks to Velana Vibes. ☺️ 👊🏽 10/10

Everything was beautiful, but I have no space above, so I will use this space to give details about our wonderful trips. At our request, Velana Vibes arranged an exciting first sea excursion that included dolphin watching and snorkeling with turtles, tropical fish of all kinds, and colorful corals. For the second trip, in addition to two long snorkeling stops at the coral reef, Imma organized an exploration of the abandoned resort island of Madoghali, with a beachfront lunch featuring delicious grilled fresh fish, vegetables, rice, and fruit, along with the incredible opportunity to swim with sharks near the shore, in a dreamlike setting. Since we loved it so much, Munzir and Imma, along with their team of sea and boat experts, took us on another snorkeling excursion in breathtaking underwater landscapes, followed by a tour of the abandoned resort island of Velidhoo, where we enjoyed an excellent meal of garlic and oil pasta, fish, vegetables, and fruit. This final trip came with two surprises: a group member’s GoPro, which captured us swimming underwater, and Munzir’s drone, which filmed us from above as we dove off the pier, far from the shore where the water deepens and changes color. We got to see everything -from vibrant coral to fish of every shape, color, and size, manta rays, sharks, octopuses, and squids- all immortalized in stunning images and videos. The snorkeling gear was always provided by them.

There are no words to describe this incredible experience at Mathiveri, a small island with simple but very kind and hospitable inhabitants. It has magnificent beaches with free sun loungers and swings, an easily accessible sand island, and a soothing sense of tranquility. Staying at Velana Vibes made us feel at home. Munzir, the owner, was always available to meet any request or need. We could use the kitchen, fully equipped for preparing our meals, the lounge area for working or enjoying conversations with friends, the machine ready for free coffee and tea at any time, and safe drinking water was always available. We are certain that Velana Vibes is the most well-maintained accomodation on the island -new and aesthetically the most beautiful, with very spacious rooms with large bathrooms and all the necessary comforts. Munzir also runs a minimarket, and his stepmother owns a souvenirs shop, ensuring that guests have access to everything they might need. He personally arranged our speedboat transfer from and to Malé, picked us up at the port, and took us back with luggage transportation included. On the first day, he even organized a mini-kart tour of the island, as a courtesy from him, so we could get to know it better. Munzir is supported by Imma, the talented chef who prepared our breakfasts and meals on deserted islands (even for special dietary needs), as well as an excellent organizer and tour guide for customized and private excursions. What really made this experience truly magical was feeling among friends, having evening conversations with Imma and Munzir, who gave us advice, clarified doubts, and helped us understand the local customs, culture, and history. They shared jokes with us and even taught us a few words in their language. On the morning of our departure, we received a wonderful surprise: a delicious chocolate cake with 'We will miss you" written on it. It left us speechless. Baraabaru!
