How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewGreat location for one night. The staff were lovely and friendly. Room- slightly tired looking giving spaceship 🚀 vibes. The view in the morning was lovely. Breakfast questionable. It was what we needed for the price we payed for one night.
Bathroom very tired looking/ breakfast chicken sandwich and sausage was interesting!

Verified reviewFor a short 3 day stay in the city the property was worth its value I don’t have anything bad to say about my stay bed was super comfortable and clean I slept very well being jet lagged the balcony opened to the see capturing the most beautiful sunsets 3rd floor the neon lights brought a warm vibe staff was polite professional kept to themselves which I like privacy so this was nice for me right in the middle of both ends making it walkable and easy access The staff was accommodating made a simple but delicious breakfast They picked me up and dropped me off to the airport helping for a stress free check in early bird arrival which was a bonus I would stay again

Verified reviewThe stay was OK. They have an airport shuttle to the airport and back, their vehicle was out off service, but they have sent the member of their staff to the airport and he took us to the hotel with taxi. We paid 10 $ each way in the hotel not to the taxi driver, they covered the price of the taxi. The taxi would have been more expesive.
The room could be cleaner.

Verified reviewThis was my first time at Vista Beach Retreat but I live and work in the Maldives and styed in quite a few other guest houses and Vista Beach was really another level. Very helpful, friendly and trustable staff, the room was not big but all the amenities were there, very good matrass, spacious bathroom, very clean, there was even a small smoking balcony which is very convenient for smokers. Location on the waterfront and very close to the center is ideal! Will certainly book there next time when I have to stay over in Hulhumale.
To start the shower you have to pull the system on the wall down which is hard to figure out by yourself but with support of the helpful staff it was sorted out very quickly

well after the confirmation through the chat of booking.com i requested for pic up but unfortunately no respond from the hotel side. However, I reached and after the check-in the room was so badly smelled from the refresher which made me so uncomfortable and headache, incompletely toiletries.

Verified reviewNice spot on hulemale - allowed me to recharge after long flights and take a dip.
It would be good to suggest an airport transfer - we tried the bus and as jet lagged newcomers we did not fare well on entry to the country. Would have been great to take a taxi/transfer in. No one’s fault just a suggestion.

Verified reviewLovely big rooms and paying for the sea view is definitely worth it for beautiful view over the beach. I arrived really early in the morning but because there was a room already available, they let me check straight in - I was SO grateful and really appreciated it.
The only thing with the sea view is that it’s directly in front of the road between hotel and beach. Not a big road or that busy but the sliding door windows are old / metal framed and don’t properly close / seal fully so you do hear all the street noises.

Verified reviewGreat location and convenient for a night near the airport. Lovely large room with fridge and kettle and good sized shower. Staff are really helpful - arranged a last minute airport pick up even though I contacted them very short notice to ask if it was ok. Beautiful location on the beach front. I think the sea view room is worth the slight extra cost just I look over the beach.
The beach and is lovely - but it’s a local public beach and NOT for sunbathing. No loungers and bikinis not allowed. You need to be fully clothed. Not a problem for us as we knew about it but need to be aware. There are no local options for pools or beach loungers around at all.
