How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe house is truly beautiful and looks exactly like in the photos. It has everything you need — the air conditioning worked perfectly in the room, and the WiFi was reliable. You can use the kitchen if you want, and there’s also an option to have breakfast prepared for you at a very reasonable price. The homeowner doesn’t live on-site; instead, a lovely family takes care of the house — an elderly lady named Manu and two younger women with their two small children. A great perk is the laundry service available on the property at a very affordable rate. Manu was incredibly kind and welcoming, while the younger ladies were a bit reserved but still polite and helpful. The pool is charming and nice for photos, pitty it can not be used for a dip, because it is not well maintained. The location is a bit farther from the city center — about a 30-minute walk — which can be a bit inconvenient in warm weather. However, Uber works perfectly in Cancun and is very affordable. Nearby, you’ll find an Oxxo market and a few good restaurants. This house is ideal if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway where you can get a good night’s sleep, relax, and enjoy your privacy. All in all, I’m glad I booked this accommodation — it was a really lovely experience.

Verified reviewIt does look like in the pictures and it close to small era of local bars.
As we got into the room it smelled bad. It seems cleen at first sight but than we saw a lot of ants around and the bed sheets had yellow stains on them (although they probably been clean it still looked bad). The pool seemed to unmaintained for a while, so we didn't want to get in. We've been here for one night after we've been at other places in Cancun, at the same price rate we could have got better.

Verified reviewWe wanted to be in the city, not by the beach, and this property is good for that. Very-very nice and safe neighborhood with big supermarket about 18 minute walk going east in "Plaza de las Americas". Costco is about the same distance going in the opposite direction. A convenience store is a block away going south. There are restaurants around at walking distance. We shared bathroom facilities but that is not an issue in this property: toilet, shower, and sinks are all independent of each other. The bedroom is simple but well appointed, nice closets. There is no safe in the room but we felt there was no need for one because all rooms have a lock and there are very few people around. The ladies in charge seem to be there 24/7. The kitchen is very nice and they provide drinking water in the kitchen. We did not use the swimming pool but there is a table by the pool, a nice place to eat and relax. If you want to be in the city and not by the beach then I recommend this place.
Water condensates in the refrigerator and it pools a little bit on the shelfs inside the refigerator, There is no TV in the rooms but that was not an issue for us.

Verified reviewCool house, welcoming and friendly staff, quiet! A calm neighbourhood. Option to use the kitchen for simple meals and leave things in the fridge.
The location was a bit far out, especially as we were there for only one night. But with uber it made it doable, but it was not ideally located for getting into town by foot or by public transport with bags. To ho to the beach we paid for an uber, but it was twice the price for the journey back so we caught the r1 from the beach into downtown then got an uber from there. But of a faff, but much cheaper that way.

Verified reviewThe finish on this house is very nice. It is like a tv novela house and we enjoyed that! The living area was very comfortable and the staff were really welcoming. They allowed us to leave our luggage after check out. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There's an option to have breakfast and an option to use the kitchen for simple cooking (although i had forgotten that was an option as the listing on the booking. Com app doesn't mention it anywhere so we gave away all our cooking bits and ingredients at the previous hostel...) This is the quietest place we've stayed in quintana roo, possibly Mexico. I woke in the early hours and could not hear a single vehicle nor bar!! That was delightful. It's a 15 min walk to the ecological park (we loved that for an early morning walk and play on the outdoor gym equipment. Lots of wildlife!) and a 15min walk to plaza las Americas, a further 10min from there to the promenade (malecon tajamar) where we saw so many interesting and beautiful birds. The walk to plaza las Americas took us longer than it should have due to the amount of wonderful trees and with such variety that i had to stop every few blocks to take more photos.
The aircon in our room wasn't amazing and the pool looked unused and not so appealing. The location is quite a bit out of town, although with uber it is easy to get reasonable rides into the town, to/from the ADO, and to plaza las Américas. There are also collectivis that are nearby that go to these places, you have to ask locals for information on where the stops are and where the routes go. Local food options, those within walking distance, didn't inspire us (not the venues fault!).

Verified reviewThe suite is enormous, clean, and comfortable. The family who owns/runs the villa are very kind and helpful. The location is a short walk to nice restaurants and Costco.
The beds do not have mattress protectors, which, for those of us who travel frequently, is a MUST! The hot water to the shower takes about 10 minutes to arrive, and water pressure is very low.

Verified reviewBig house, palace type, in a clean safe neighborhood There's quite a few security steps to get in. You can sit in the living room, prepare your meal in a well equipped kitchen Easy walk to necessities and restaurant Good room with wardrobe & balcony. Great value for money This house feel a bit strange, like in a soap serie. Staff is discreet, try to find her if you need something
Some parts need maintenance and to be cleaned. Toilet got several times stuck Bathroom access to the shower Swimming and terrace area was not clean I didn't use it. Suggestions: a tv and a chair would be nice. It rained a lot during my stay and I was many hours indoors
