Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe stayed on two occasions, going to/from Cozumel; unfortunately, our second one-night stay was severely marred by our hotel room being broken into. Even though there was video footage of the intruder in the courtyard it seems strange that someone could get in so easily and then found at least 2 rooms on the ground floor with the windows unlocked (ours was not the only one broken into). I admit, we did not check the windows before we left for dinner - a mistake we won't make again - and that cost us 2 laptop computers. Thank goodness our passports were in the safe, which was not compromised. The hotel did refund that night's stay once we reported it, though.
The hotel is a few streets away from the noisy party bars in Playa Del Carmen, but close enough to walk to any of the restaurants. Lovely courtyard with small pool on the other side of the keypad-locked front gate. Rooms are on 3 floors overlooking the trees in the courtyard, where they also provide filtered drinking water. Rooms are roomy and have all the expected amenities, including chairs outside to enjoy the warm weather.

BelgiumAt night you do get a lot of noise of the nightclubs nearby so bring earplugs + the airco only worked so-so, which kept us awake in a 30 degree celsius night.
Lovely stay in the center of PDC. The room was nice and great shower as well. The pool and shared patio were wonderful.

United KingdomThere isn't any reception so it's more like an air BnB. Sleeping was difficult on the 3rd floor because of the really loud noise from the clubs nearby. The qr code to scan to chat with "reception" in my room didn't work. Otherwise the place was nice and clean.

United KingdomThere is construction in the land next to the property so early morning was very loud with the construction noise. Thankfully we went out during the day so by the time we were back in the evening it had stopped.
Perfect location close to the main busy area in Playa del Carmen without the late night noise. Big comfy bed and was nice to have a small kitchenette area to have breakfast. The staff were lovely and the ease of check-in/out was perfect for us!

United StatesThere's a local disco that doesn't shut down until 2am-ish, but that didn't spoil our stay.
Idyllic location just far enough away from crowds to be mostly peaceful. Room very comfortable and functional. Although no reception, response to questions or requests very quickly answered over WhatsApp. Small pool was clean and lovely central atrium just tops off the whole place. Totally recommended.

United StatesBeing close to the entertainment district also meant late night music nearby. Not overwhelmingly loud, but enough to be distracting when going to bed.

Gorgeous hotel. Nestled in the centre of town but one road away from the strip and so peaceful. The room is a great size has everything you need and a lovely bathroom with lots of nice smelling goodies. Really recommend.

FranceThe beds were a little uncomfortable.
This place was great. Super pleasant and calm, a little cocoon of relaxation in the heart of Playa del Carmen. Just 2 streets away from the Quinta Avenida, and 5 minutes away from the beach! Just amazing. Also, the staff was super nice and arranging, they kept our luggage when we needed it last minute, and were super quick to answer when we contacted them. The pool and terrasse are really cool also!

VietnamThere’s a microwave and knives and forks but they don’t provide any plates or bowls. We book places with a kitchenette so we can make our own breakfast, so this was disappointing but we were able to buy our own from Walmart cheaply.
Comfy bed, spacious room, nice styling, great shower and toiletries, good towels, pool (like the seating in the pool - I could sit in the water and read my book), lounge area was just outside our room and we were the only people using it most of the time so a nice outside space for us (our room didn’t have a terrace or balcony), Maria’s friendly face and helpfulness (with storing luggage), WhatsApp responsiveness to queries, very central location. We were concerned about noise, but actually it was fine apart from the first night when other guests were a bit noisy. We were in room 105 (queen room) so could be it’s a quieter room.

United StatesVery well located. Simple but beautiful. The swimming pool is always clean, and a blossoming frangipani tree leans over it. The room smelled nice and was lit well. The staff especially Maria was very helpful and let me keep my luggage for a few hours while I went to explore after checkout.

BelgiumThe place looks better in the pictures than it is in reality, especially the outdoor space. It basically lacks some maintenance (some pillows and mattresses were missing, the white curtains too). The concierge explained it's because it had been raining, but this is precisely when reliable maintenance is needed (or another set of furniture and décor that doesn't depend on the weather that much). Although the contact with the concierge was generally smooth and fast, they forgot to inform us about the new code to the entrance gate. Luckily, another couple opened it for us, but some other guests waited outside for 30 minutes. Also, the bed mattress was covered with an IKEA-type protecting sheet, which made noise when moving - a bit annoying. Finally, because the place is centrally located, we could hear music until late hours. Ear plugs recommended.
We enjoyed the little pool and the location (close to the beach, pedestrian zone, restaurants). The room was quite spacious and cleaned every day. We were there during a hurricane and the staff took very good care of us, made sure we had everything we needed (extra water, portable lamp, etc.), which was nice. The AC worked well. The outdoor space has nice vegetation.

United KingdomWith a central location comes noise at night from neighbouring clubs until 2am weekdays and 3am on Saturday. Keypad Code for entry to complex a little fiddly. The hotels own check in system didn't work for me. However the host was quick to respond to anything I needed on Whatsapp.

GermanyEverything was alright but to mention something, even though the 5th avenue (busiest street of all) was a couple of streets away, you could still hear some loud music from afar. If you are a light sleeper, maybe you need earplugs. We found it acceptable and got used it.
The hotel was in a good location, near all the important spots (beaches, restaurants, bars, etc). You can park outside in the street for 10 pesos an hour but you can also leave your car in the Walmart parking (for free during the whole day) which is near by. We loved how relaxing it was, the swimming pool although small, was perfect for getting refreshed and then relaxing in one of the sun beds of the hotel. We cleaning staff came in everything and did a really nice job.

United KingdomThe pool area was smaller than it looked in the photos and didn’t look as inviting in real life. Great for a smaller budget hotel but we chose to use other hotel’s pools that were bigger and had service. Still well worth the money as a central hotel but I wouldn’t chose to stay again if I wanted access to a pool. For light sleepers - be warned that this hotel is close to big nightclubs and sometimes music can be heard into the early morning, although this didn’t bother us as we don’t mind a bit of noise and it wasn’t so loud that we couldn’t sleep. Maybe bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper though.
Cleaner was excellent, room was always spotless and towels refreshed daily. The room itself had all the amenities needed including an ironing board and safe. The concierges via WhatsApp were really helpful with booking taxis and airport transfers.
