A hidden gem perfect for a short break away of the city

The road leading to Alma Maya is not ideal, but that's the beauty of this hidden location. We hired a transport which took us from Cancun airport to Alma Maya, and it was a +1hr drive. However this is an expensive option, given the distance and the road conditions. It's best if you can rent a car.

Alma Maya is a hidden gem, away from the crowd and busy Cancun. The place is beautiful, with lots of green and fresh air around. Our room was amazing, very private and with all the ammenities to have a well-deserved rest. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The food we had during our stay was very tasty. We also used the gym, the lovely private cenote and the meditation room, and on our last night we had a firepit. The staff is incredibly kind, helpful and attentive. All in all a great stay!

The amenities listed on the list such as bum fire and Mayan dance show was not even mentioned when we got to the property. I asked for a sound bath and I never heard anything about whether it was available or not. The restaurant menu needs improvement on variety; they could benefit by adding seafood and by having different dishes for lunch and dinner, as of now they have the same menu for lunch and dinner and it’s limited. The road to and out of the hotel is dangerous and extremely rough with lots of potholes and you can drive 5-10 miles per hour because it’s so bad. On our way out we got a flat tire and we had to drive the car like that until we got to Puerto Morelos because that is the closest town where you can find a place that could fix it and $10 later to get it fixed.

We loved the nature, the space designed for the dome, and the cenote. The massage was good and was reasonably priced, more than what I paid would had been too much. However, I was given a massage menu with prices and then they wanted to charge me more. Other than that, the place is great to disconnect from life routines and reconnect with your partner and relax. It’s a beautiful place and the dome is 1000% times better than the bubble. The jacuzzi water is water from the cenote so it’s going to be cold, but we got our feet in. Cristian the manager of the hotel was amazing and will take care of you personally during your stay. He made sure our stay was outstanding! The food was great but the menu is limited and given the location of the hotel, it’s hard to venture out for lunch or dinner. It’s a must have experience to stay here at least one in a lifetime, we would love to go back. 2 nights was a good amount to enjoy the place.

As others have mentioned, the road in can be challenging if you’re not used to driving off-road. We soon got the hang of it though! Wish they had a dehumidifier for the rooms - sometimes our room got quite musty.

Great staff and excellent value for money. This place was a perfect little oasis in the jungle. Recommend the chilaquiles and the arrachera tacos!

To reach to this place there is a small 20 min ride road. It was quite ruined. There were big holes, no asphalt at all. Driving there was like driving in a rally. We had SUV and eventhough we had SUV it was uncomfortable to drive.

We were looking for a stay in place closer to Cancun airport hence we suppose to go back to the next day. Somehow I found here and it really amazed us. The resort is in jungle, it has its own private cenote. You are in a nature with amazing vibe surrounded. We really enjoyed our time in Cenote. Staff was so polite and helpful. We also had breakfast and dinner there, meals were so delicious. I always wanted to try to stay in bubble hotel, and my dream came through. We stayed in bubble hotel with small private pool in front. I was absolutely amazed. I really recommend this place.

The last few kilometers are a bit challenging but it makes the experience even better, in my view.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at Alma Maya and truly loved it. Everything was perfect.

This amazing secluded gem is worth all the effort to get to. The staff, Christian and America and their team, and the food were incredible, catering to my every need. I even asked for a bucket and rag to wipe down my car, and they washed it for me the night before I left. They will blow you away with kindness. It is a beautiful and tranquil escape—just do it!

The main thing to know is that the hotel is down 7km of unpaved road in fair to poor condition (some sections are fine, but there are many large pits and potholes, some rocky and some muddy). A SUV is highly recommended. The staff is small and needs to multitask so don't expect restaurant-level service when you dine. The menus are only in English with prices in USD, but none of the staff speak English so there was some miscommunication.

Once you arrive it is very peaceful and safe. The room is very private and clean, the bed is comfortable, and the food at the restaurant is excellent. The private cenote is full of fish so it's not very clear. There is a wooden walkway at water level so you can check it out without swimming.

Nothing. All was great. Keep in mind, that the road has massive potholes. We rented a SUV and that seemed like a good choice. I would not try it with a small car.

We had such an amazing time at Alma Maya Resort! The road leading to the Resort is quite challenging. But once there, everything was perfect. The private cenote and the sounds of the jungle were amazing. The room was really cosy and the beds were very comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was so attentive and super friendly! It was absolutely worth the price and the difficulty of getting there.

I loved that from the moment you arrived you felt like family. The staff was so kind and welcoming. They show you around the grounds to the yoga chalet, outdoor gym, private cenote and the beautiful outdoor dining room and lobby. The service was fantastic and they anticipated your needs before you could even ask for anything. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the steak tacos. There is a calm and spiritual presence about the place and you’re surrounded by nature. I LOVED watching the tiny fox run around outside of our room at night, beautiful butterfly’s and some cool insects. The rooms are comfortable with everything needed, the plunge pools outside the rooms were so lovely to cool off and the private cenote is unbeatable. The water was cool and refreshing. They provide life jackets and pool noodles for you to use if needed. I cannot say enough great things about this place. I will definitely be back.

    Alma Maya cannot be faulted.

From the first moments we arrive until the moment we left Yannin and her team treated us wonderfully. They made a special effort to help us celebrate a family birthday. It was a truly fantastic guest experience for us all. Nothing was too much trouble, they made great vegetarian food for us. The food there was first class.

Only two things to note: 1. It is not too easy to reach the location with a normal car. You might prefer to get transport to the accomodation or get a SUV. I think it rained in the period we went so the wholes in the ground were quite large and it took us a long time to reach the hotel. For sure do not recommend to travel after sunset. 2. It does get a little humid in the rooms at night.

The resort is great, unique and new. The staff really goes the extra mile throughout the entire stay. The room itself is very modern, clean and comfortable with all the amenities needed. The bubbles are private so do not worry about that. The amenities offered are very unique as well. The restaurant offers very good and simple food prepared there. There are also a few board games and a pin pong table to play while being there. The cenote is quite incredible, only for the guests. When we were there we had the cenote all for us which was an incredible experience. There are other services offered which we did not have time to try. If you are looking for something different and outside the chaos of Cancun this is really a nice place to stay.
