Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hong KongThe room facing the street is extremely noisy. You may need earplugs to sleep. The kitchen is on the third floor, so if you’re staying on the first floor, you’ll have to climb quite a few stairs.
Free drinking water and the kitchen has all the necessary utensils for cooking. Staff are friendly. Room is spacious.

SpainSadly, the room was very noisy and we could hear everything from the road underneath us (I recommend having earplugs). Toilets (shared) were ok. Overall, I would stay again!!
Location is absolutely perfect (very central), and the room was very spacious. Staff was also extremely friendly and kind, they helped us with taxis. There also is coffee and water available to guests, as well as a co-working space.

United KingdomNo air con but for the price it was still okay.
We loved the night view from our window, the twinkling lights of the city were beautiful. The view from the rooftop was also pretty special, we spent a lot of time up there looking at the sunsets. The kitchen had plenty space & utensils to cook plus there was free water & coffee. It was in walking distance of all the local sites, Cathedrals, markets, restaurants etc. The room had a decent sized locker & the shared shower/bathroom was clean with hot water.

United StatesThe lighting in the rooms is a harsh cold white light that makes it difficult to relax. They should really consider changing to warm lighting in the rooms so it doesn't feel like you're living in a motorcycle repair garage. Also, the closets in the room were missing the bar to hang clothing. No reason why. I stayed for an extended period of time and would have appreciated a place to hang my clothes. Especially since we had a private room.
The location is excellent. Very close to the markets, the zocalo and transportation options. The room was spacious with a large window with a nice view. There were always showers and bathrooms available and were clean. The main entrance is always staffed and entry is very easy. I felt safe and welcomed. Also. The many balconies and terraces were wonderful places to eat, socialize with other guests, and just take in the beautiful views.

DenmarkThe bed is very hard and small.
The place is very central. Don’t expect anything luxurious. The balconies in the rooms are very nice and you get a nice view over the city.

NetherlandsThe Internet connection was very poor. We thought that could be for the location of the room, who was the last one in a corridor. But we saw others sitting randomly searching for Wi-Fi The hotel is located in a very busy street. The noise is huge. I sleep badly two from three nights. Since we arrived at 8 am to the hotel, I noticed it and asked for a room behind, but it was full and was not possible to get another room. Ask for it during your reservation.
The building is nice and old. Big and spacious rooms. Colourful and high ceilings .Is located very close to the main plaza and to the centre.. The receptionist team was kind and helpful. We kept our belongings since very early and allowed us to take a shower before we got the room. That way, we did not waste any minute

United StatesThe beds are very basic, specifically the pillows are very flat and uncomfortable. As far as I could tell, there is no microwave in the kitchen - though there is a stove and a toaster oven. Beware there are no fans/AC in the rooms.
The hostel is basic but pleasant: - The location is great - Private rooms! - The hostel is super clean! - The bathroom is shared but we never had to wait for it when we needed it - The WiFi is good - The shower is hot

AustriaAs others have mentioned, my private room facing the street was crazily noisy. I guess this is fair considering the location and price, just bring/buy ear plugs!

Francethe surroundings were quite loud, with a restaurant with live music every nice, a lot of different fireworks close by, and the windows did not isolate much. The showers are a bit more problematic though : we can see everything that is going on there through the door....
the personnel was quite nice, even though most of them don't speak english, very helpful, clean kitchen that is quite functional, and the bedroom and shared spaces were clean

United Kingdomlove all!!!
My third stay. This place is a really spacious and beautiful refurbed building with the most amazing views of the city from a huge rooftop: it is right next to the market and cathedral...rooms are pristine, bathrooms are plenty and super clean too; there are loads of details that I love: fresh flowers; funky furnishing; free coffee and biscuits; small gym area; good internet...I simply love having my own room for the price of a dorm elsewhere and will keep on returning!

BelgiumDepending on where your room is, it can be very noisy. Our room was on the 2nd floor by the street side. The view was great but the simple glass windows weren’t blocking any noise. Sleeping without airplugs was impossible. Also, the fridge in the kitchen wasn’t working very well
Clean, huge spaces, near the center and mercado Benito Juarez, helpful staff, they borrowed us an umbrella to be able to enjoy the city despite the rain.

NetherlandsI booked a private room, which I really recommend since it will give you a clean and spacious enough place to relax and unload your luggage. I loved that there was a balcony/ terrace right outside of my room on the 3rd floor. They have a little sport facility if you like to work out. It’s such a good hostal especially for the price.

SwedenThis hostel is really big and beautiful. I didn't expect it from the reviews and photos that don't do justice. It's 3 floors, it's massive, has plenty of space and common areas, a beautiful terrace with many tables and even sunbeds, a small place to workout (a bicycle+ some weights), big kitchen, free coffee , water and cookies. I booked the single room which was ridiculously cheap for being private (shared bathroom). It was clean and basic, had no real window which felt a big overwhelming, I would describe it as "spartan" as I read in another review. Had a small desk, chair, 2 lockers and the bed, literally nothing else 😅 However, I think there is nothing to complain given the price to have a private space. The toilets and showers were clean. Warm water stops between 00.00-06.00. A lot of chairs if you have any problems with that. The staff was helpful and helped me with my airport transport, also printed out a document for free. The only problem with this hostel is that it seriously lacks atmosphere, it's so massive that people cannot meet and it's such a pity because it has such a big potential. Hopefully it becomes more social lively with time, maybe organise some activities?

United StatesThe Wifi was spotty and unreliable on some floors and in some rooms. Having a room on the top floor required to walk up more than 50 stairs each time.
The hostel was just 2 blocks from the mercado central which is a big food, grocery, fruit, meat and many other things indoor market. One can find many things in the market, including hot meals and clothing. The hostel was just a 10 minute walk from the zocalo, the central plaza of Oaxaca. The hostel was also in 10-20 minute walking distance to different bus stations. The hostel had many bathrooms and bathroom doors could be locked and then it was like having a private bathroom. Free water and coffee was available throughout the day. The reception was manned 24X7. The mattresses were in decent shape. The kitchen was relatively clean and organized.
