How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewFree drinking water and the kitchen has all the necessary utensils for cooking. Staff are friendly. Room is spacious.
The room facing the street is extremely noisy. You may need earplugs to sleep. The kitchen is on the third floor, so if you’re staying on the first floor, you’ll have to climb quite a few stairs.

Verified reviewLocation is absolutely perfect (very central), and the room was very spacious. Staff was also extremely friendly and kind, they helped us with taxis. There also is coffee and water available to guests, as well as a co-working space.
Sadly, the room was very noisy and we could hear everything from the road underneath us (I recommend having earplugs). Toilets (shared) were ok. Overall, I would stay again!!

There was never warm water in the shower. This was not comfortable, taking a cold shower.

Verified reviewWe loved the night view from our window, the twinkling lights of the city were beautiful. The view from the rooftop was also pretty special, we spent a lot of time up there looking at the sunsets. The kitchen had plenty space & utensils to cook plus there was free water & coffee. It was in walking distance of all the local sites, Cathedrals, markets, restaurants etc. The room had a decent sized locker & the shared shower/bathroom was clean with hot water.
No air con but for the price it was still okay.

Verified reviewThe location was good and the staff were great.
They lock up the stove. Not everyone likes to eat at "typical" times of the day...some people get up early, some stay out late. I understand that noise could be a problem, but I like coffee when I first get up. Also, a microwave would be handy. Water pressure was really bad...for the toilet and shower, but that could be a "Oaxaca" issue.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent. Very close to the markets, the zocalo and transportation options. The room was spacious with a large window with a nice view. There were always showers and bathrooms available and were clean. The main entrance is always staffed and entry is very easy. I felt safe and welcomed. Also. The many balconies and terraces were wonderful places to eat, socialize with other guests, and just take in the beautiful views.
The lighting in the rooms is a harsh cold white light that makes it difficult to relax. They should really consider changing to warm lighting in the rooms so it doesn't feel like you're living in a motorcycle repair garage. Also, the closets in the room were missing the bar to hang clothing. No reason why. I stayed for an extended period of time and would have appreciated a place to hang my clothes. Especially since we had a private room.

Verified reviewThe place is very central. Don’t expect anything luxurious. The balconies in the rooms are very nice and you get a nice view over the city.
The bed is very hard and small.

Verified reviewThe building is nice and old. Big and spacious rooms. Colourful and high ceilings .Is located very close to the main plaza and to the centre.. The receptionist team was kind and helpful. We kept our belongings since very early and allowed us to take a shower before we got the room. That way, we did not waste any minute
The Internet connection was very poor. We thought that could be for the location of the room, who was the last one in a corridor. But we saw others sitting randomly searching for Wi-Fi The hotel is located in a very busy street. The noise is huge. I sleep badly two from three nights. Since we arrived at 8 am to the hotel, I noticed it and asked for a room behind, but it was full and was not possible to get another room. Ask for it during your reservation.

Verified reviewThe hostel is basic but pleasant: - The location is great - Private rooms! - The hostel is super clean! - The bathroom is shared but we never had to wait for it when we needed it - The WiFi is good - The shower is hot
The beds are very basic, specifically the pillows are very flat and uncomfortable. As far as I could tell, there is no microwave in the kitchen - though there is a stove and a toaster oven. Beware there are no fans/AC in the rooms.

Verified reviewEverything was great. A wonderful budget option. Don’t have any fancy expectations. Very Pet friendly with my dog.
No elevator. Had to carry my friends large luggage up to the last floor with no help (my friends fault for overpacking). They need more outlets in the rooms, especially in a double room!

Verified reviewI rated this 10s across the board because of the price. It’s by far the cheapest private room I’ve ever stayed in. The location is great. The staff is nice. The bathrooms are pretty clean. The views from The terrace are lovely. Also extra bonus points because they’re pet friendly!
The rooms need more outlets. There only one outlet and for some reason my charger wouldn’t stay plugged in so I actually couldn’t use it. There a lot of stairs so if you have luggage get ready for a work out.
