Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe bar associated with the hotel, No Name Bar, is a bit scammy. Just be careful when paying and understanding your bill at the bar. I was charged tax despite the 16% is required by law to be included in the menu price. Note, there is a "hotel" menu that Barracuda guests get 50% if you pay with cash. In all fairness, "No Name Bar" is a different management than the hotel.

AustraliaWater leaking onto bathroom floor from shower. BEWARE OF SCAM running as part of the hotel's agreement with the bar/restaurant that offers 50% discount for hotel guests. The manager tried to scam us on our first nights' cocktails by charging double the price because she said we ordered a large cocktail. The menu only has one size which they state is 600ml. We got 600ml cocktails and the manager decided to argue the point with us that our glass was larger than 600ml (which is was not because they have 600ml stamped on the base). She got heated with us. All we wanted to do was pay the fair price which was 50% of the cocktail price as we were guests in the hotel. She went off in a huff and said she would personally absorb the full cost of the cocktails. We left the correct amount regardless, as we are honest. This put such a bad taste in our mouths that we did not want to eat or drink there again. Side note - Food prices are crazy expensive in Cozumel, so I suggest walking into the local neighbourhood to go to taqueria. Eat some traditional food at local prices, if you don't want to get ripped off in the tourist neighbourhood.
The location is great, as you just enter the water via a couple of steps. Good snorkeling just outside. Not too far from ferry port. Room was adequate for a triple share but the place is dated and needs a refurb.

United StatesIt’s an older property. Beds aren’t very comfortable. Some street and pool noise. No coffee pot in the room.
Great pool and amazing view! Location is right in the midst of town. Walkable to restaurants and stores. Great AC. I’ve stayed here a couple of times and will stay again. It’s not luxurious or updated but has everything you’ll need for a great time. On site restaurant offers 50% discount on food and drinks for guests.

CanadaNo toiletries except for hand soap. Hot water does not exist; water is tepid at best. No English TV programming. No safe in the room, but there is one at the front desk that comes with a nominal fee.
The hotel did not offer breakfast, but they have a deal with the bar next door where hotel guests get 50% off food and drinks, provided payment is by cash. The hotel is well situated: close to downtown, across the street from the Mega to pick up necessities, taxi stand across the street. Everything is walkable. It is comfortable. Don’t expect modern furniture or setting. It is a place to sleep, not entertain.

United StatesDon't expect a spa experience. This is a basic hotel room with an incredible view and fantastic location. Bathroom amenities are non-existent. Bring your own shampoo, etc. The TV has only Spanish-language programming, but in Cozumel, who wants to watch TV?? There's music playing right outside your window, which - thankfully - stops at 10pm.
This hotel is right in the middle of everything in Cozumel and right on the beach. Every room has a balcony and a view of the Caribbean. There are plenty of attractions, restaurants and stores within walking distance. And if you forgot ANYthing, there's a Mega store across the street.

FinlandAC was not turned on prior arrival and it was very late at night once room had cooled totally down. Also no WiFi in room. Rooms are very dated. This is not a problem if you are aware of this.
Good location. Quite clean. Nice atmosphere. If you like the vicinity of No Name Bar it's great and for me there was no disturbance. You can hear music day time but that's it.

United StatesI wish the staff would have been a little more informative on rules and regulations upon check in. I was not aware of rules of eating or drinking by pool. However, staff was very nice in informing me. The cleaning team needed a little work on being thorough.
Access to grocery store right across the street and shopping all around. There is not an all inclusive fee so you have the ability to order food from the bar at half price or walk to local restaurants. Most rooms do not have kitchens but they do have small refrigerators.Access to the ocean right outside my building or choice of going in the pool. Great place to catch some amazing sunsets.

United StatesNo safe in room, have to leave valuables and reception and pay $1 USD for storage. This is an older property, the windows don’t seal, so the AC must run most of the time. Our balcony door quit locking a day into our trip, door swelled from the humidity, which was not a major issue as we were on the 3rd floor, but would have been a real problem on a lower floor. No elevator.
Great location, right on the water. Dock is great for jumping i to the ocean. Excellent bar/restaurant/beac club. Comfortable beds. Good AC. Great breakfast place/beach club, Jeanie’s, next door. Excellent value.
