Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandThe place is located just 1 km from the very center of San Miguel. While this is quite close, the location is up on a hill, making the walk to the center quite steep. However, if you use the La Palma stairs instead of Cta. de Loreto, it will be easier and faster. I did this every day, even a couple of times on our last day, despite having a toe injury. The staff is lovely, especially the person who serves breakfast in the restaurant. They provide great customer attention and kindness. I recommend this place if you are okay with walking. The view of the uptown streets will make your decision worthwhile.

IndiaService is very poor. Need to understand little English to help guests. My rough Spanish was not helpful. Did not get basic amenities in the hotel. No glass, no water in the rooms. no towel in the bathrooms. Service: Worst service of all. First, I have a double book from booking.com due to a website glitch, I asked for Cancelation fees waver. They did not allow it. Which understand by me and luckily the other hotel refunded full amount. While I am in hotel they refuse to give room and mentioned it canceled. Later, they checked and understood that they misread the direction of booking.com which is in Spanish. They harrash us almost 15 minutes without even reading it. Later we got room 18 which have very bad smell from bathroom. They did not understand and even did not came to check it. We took 2 rooms, 18 and 19. Both of the rooms missing basic amenities like bathroom towels. They mention we do not have it in the hotel. 2 lady in reception can not handle a single problem they just repeat what they said in first time. Language: only Spanish speaking receptionist Location: It is near Murador so little far from centro. If you love to walk in the vintage city then this location is well suited for you. Wifi: Average.
Rooms: Great rooms with view. These are vintage looking rooms, a little cold in the night but manageable. View: Sunset is very beautiful Service: Worst service of all. Recommendation: International tourists are not recommended due to the language barrier unless you can use translation for every little conversation. Recommend to hotel: Change your receptionist. SMA is an international tourist area. They should understand little engle. We can put our effort and speak in rough Spanish, whereas the hotel should understand a little bit to assist guests.

United StatesUp a huge hill from center of town We took taxis to return to hotel but if you are fit and not older like us you can hike UPHILL after a day and evening out Such water shortage in Mexico why why why does the gardener water the lawn and plants like mad with a full ON water hose?? Mexico City will have NO water by June 2024 but Frayle has green green grass!? EEK! This is not good and we also live in Arizona and know the value of water.

MexicoIt is far from the city center. If you don’t have a car the walk up to the hotel takes effort. If you are in good shape, it’s doable.
The hotel had a great view of the city. The room was nice and large and the facilities had a swimming pool. A good value for the money.

CanadaVery steep and narrow streets to go to Centro. For most people, you need to take your car or call a taxi. We had to pay more to change room because of the really narrow stairs going to the mezanine bedroom. Very hard mattress. There were no screens in windows, so mosquitos were in.
Nice view, nice colonial hotel, beautiful gardens, parking, clean, good Wi-Fi, good shower.

IrelandThe rooms really do not provide the view that the place has to offer, which is a shame, if view from your room is what you're looking for, this might not be the place.
The view from the pool and open areas is amazing. The location is uphill, so better to arrive by car or taxi.

United StatesAs I said it’s a bit worn but beautiful
Love this little hotel. It’s a bit out of the way and well worn but lovely. The pool is small but fantastic - some ingenious design keeps cold water coming in the bottom while the sun eats the top. Staff very friendly and helpful. It’s at the top of a VERY steep hill but views are amazing and taxis are cheap if you don’t want to walk - walking up is a serious work out but we’ll worth the gorgeous views and charming neighborhood. I saw a complaint about breakfast - not my experience. The menu is very limited but I’m a vegetarian and they were very happy to adjust to accommodate me. Ask nicely 😊
