Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Exeptionally comfortable place, good breakfafst included, suppers also provided at extra cost when ordered Big spacious room, comfy beds, heater, hot shower Very accomodating staff - we stayed in different hotel in town, awful place - cold with no cold shower, after contacting this lodge first thing in the morning - we were picked up in 5 min , we were just hoping to drop of the bags - but were able to check in right away, use the facilities and were offered breakfast One of the family members speaks good English and offers guided tours - very knowledgeable and accommodating, takes his time, proud to show his area, fun to be with

New ZealandIt’s about a 20 minute walk to Areponapuchi, then a further walk along the canyon rim to the adventure park. The distance isn’t really a problem, but I was a bit nervous walking after another reviewer said they got bitten by a dog (most of the dogs are wonderful). The lodge does offer a taxi.
The hosts were lovely. Great, cheap dinners. Good, free breakfast. The room was cold, but had a heat pump. Good wifi. The hosts picked me up and dropped me off at the train station.

New ZealandNothing!
I loved my stay at this place. The lovely couple picked me up from the train station. While I speak next to no spanish, we were able to communicate with Google Translate. The breakfast tasted amazing, as did the dinner. They have Starlink, so the internet was incredibly fast - I think the best I've experienced in Mexico.

United StatesThe hotel is a little outdated but expected since it cheaper than the few that they are in Divisadero.
I just want to say that Delia and Alejandro are the best. They’re are the kindest, friendliest people and always ready to help you to make your stay the best experience.

CanadaDehlia was a lovely host. It felt like I was a guest in someone’s home. I don’t speak any Spanish but we communicated through google translate. The area is quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious. Breakfast was included and set me up for a day at the adventure park. They offer transport for a small fee and tours as well. It is about an hour walk to the adventure park and there is a supermarket just across the road. Great value for money, highly recommended.

AustraliaAll good
The owner and staff were all friendly and helpful and our guide Loupe, who is related to the proprietress was exceedingly helpful, informative and speaks good English, taking us on several tours. Though basic, the rooms are very spacious and the beds comfortable. The Senora provides excellent meals on request.

United StatesThe owners picked us up at the train station. The room was large and had heating, TV, and internet. Doña Delia, the owner, prepared meals for us. Don Alejandro took us wherever we needed to go. They were friendly and took care of our every need. They were a joy to visit with. I enjoyed all the plants everywhere. The Dining area had coffee or tea available at all times.

United StatesLocation
Large room with comfortable beds. Clean. Family run business and very friendly. For inexpensive prices will take guests on tours that last for many hours. German ( son in law) was a great tour guide and was able to communicate with us in broken English. The outside appearance of the hotel is offsetting as is the location but once inside and interacting with the family and the option to be driven around more than made up for it.

SwedenIt's a remote location, not much to do in the tiny village, however there's a shop with good assortment and 2-3 basic cafés and restaurants.
Very helpful and friendly hosts. Free transfer to/from railway station. Comfortable bed, heated room, warm shower. Hearty comida casera offered, breakfast included. Silent and relaxed surroundings.

United StatesThe main area for check in and dining was Cold in the morning and the evening for meals. They had a fire place but never used it. They could have advised of the stray dog situation in town.
The host was very friendly and accommodating. They included breakfast and transportation to/from train station. We had dinner one night for $150P each. Everything was very good. We had Guadelupe give us a tour of the area. Also, we got a lift to the Adventure Park entry and had intentions of hiking back but got caught up in the raining, so called for a ride ($75P Each/each way - A little pricey for the distance, but we didn't want our shoes/gear wet). They are a good walk to Divisadero however, there is ALOT of stray dogs and they come out in packs. We had a little black dog. who we thought was owned by the rental, follow us on our walk around town, however, he drew attention to the packs of dogs which attacked him (hence why we walked right along with us, he was a very nice dog!) I would advise to take a stick on a walk in case of a dog attack (As a previous poster was bite by a dog) We stayed 2 nights and it was perfect amount of time to explore the area/canyon. The room had good heat which was a plus cause the weather was chilly.

the senor and senora were very kind when I got bitten by a dog at the other end of the village ( I think it was because they were hungry and I was carrying bananas) and took me to San Rafael to have the bite cleaned by a man ( don’t think he was a doctor) there. even offered to take me to creel hospital as she thought I needed a rabies jab.

AustraliaThe water flow in the bathroom was very weak and the water was too cold to have a shower. At best the water was lukewarm. Everything else was great.

United StatesA chair or two in the room would have been nice instead of the small stool.
Unfortunately they could not accommodate my gf, vegan food needs so I didn’t eat there. The Host was very kind though she didn’t speak English. A few times when possible she found someone to translate for us. The last day there we paid her husband for a small tour, well worth it. The room was very clean and the heat and hot water worked well. All in all I felt it was good for the $.

LithuaniaThere was no hot water, but I noticed too late in the evening and had to leave early morning. I’m sure they would have fixed it quickly - so I’d advice to check right after check in🙂 Also the booking.com listing shows the location a bit off - check Google maps. It’s a bit further of the few main streets (15min walk). I didn’t have problems walking down to one of the trails. If staying for longer you’d need to figure transport (walking around will not be convenient).
I liked the general vibe, feels bit like a mountain cabin. Theres a porch outside the room to chill. The owner was friendly, gave some tips around the area (e.g. the bus schedule - there’s little info online). Looks like family run. Free pickup from Chepe was included. They serve dinner (home made meal) for extra charge, and breakfast (included). They offer shuttles and tours though I didn’t use it. There’s a store for common things just cross the road. And they do have Wifi (the description says they don’t- must have updated recently).

United KingdomQuite out of the way although staff offered a 75peso taxi service into Divisadero, which was useful. We walked it in the daylight which was fine too.
Great spacious room in a very quiet hotel. Netflix in the TV. Friendly staff. Nice free breakfast. Would recommend if you need a cheaper option than staying in Divisadero itself
