How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIt was like a resort but very quiet. The swimming pool was warm and amazing. There were a lot of birds and the Hammocks on the patios were excellent. Breakfast was ok. Taking a bus to town and the bus station was very simple. The handsome manager was pleasant and helpful. Taking a tour Bus (Otisa) from San Cristobal de las casas to Palenque was the way to go, safe and affordable and when you are done the 3 stop tour of the waterfalls and Palenque Pyramids have them drop you off on the road in front at Cabana Safari, it really is an oasis and you will not be disappointed. Be sure to have snacks with you. Careful with the Taxi Drivers and know your prices. Be sure to visit Christian at the Monopoly Drink very near the town square, his drinks are amazing and very exquisite and unique.

Verified reviewDecent location.
Very rustic. No TV. No hot water. The cabins are dated. Need a lot of improvements. The soap dispenser by the sink was leaking, the liquid soap was everywhere around the sink. The window did not close properly. The cabin door didn't close all the way. Luckily it had a chain lock to close it better. To eat you have to go to downtown or order something from Uber the restaurant at the cabins was close all the time.

Verified reviewPrice, location in the jungle, some great service from particular staff members
The bed was not cleaned. We found a roll of toilet paper and used toilet paper under the sheets on our 2nd stay. Mosquitoes a major problem.
Hello, good afternoon, we inform you upon arrival that any problem that arises in the cabin could be discussed at the reception and thus we will provide a solution. We will inform you of what happened and the inconveniences caused.

Verified reviewThe place is generally good and has a nice atmosphere. The bungalows are simple but offer a privacy and ecological background. The only disadvantage of the place is restaurant service. We planned to have an early breakfast to go to Palenque ruins as early as possible, because later we were making a very long trip to the next location, thus being at 7:30 at the restaurant. It took us up until 10 am to finish it as the service was way too slow and of below average quality of meals. Knowing that in advance we would rather have breakfast at the other place, as there are plenty of options around. So conclusion - worth staying, but eating somewhere else.

Verified reviewStaff friendly and pool and restaurant area really lovely. Its only just outside Palenque yet felt so quiet and tranquil. I liked the little seating areas throughout the complex where you could go and sit in the sun or shade. We had our own private outside seating area with a hammock and surrounded by jungle plants. I booked it last minute and the staff were very accommodating, I would definitely stay again.

Verified reviewIt had a deck in the back to relax in. Also, everything needed to take a prompt shower.
the restaurant experience was bad. The staff spent more time talking then actually attending to us. Which there was only us in the restaurant at the time. Then they allowed a roaming cat to harass us. it jumped on the table as we ate and tried to claw at my pants twice. aside from that the internet was bad and the staff admitted it can go in and out. I had to use my mobile data for the most part. when it was working since the area doesn't provide a good signal. Then when canceling we did not get the refund for the nights not stayed as what booking sent me in a email. since their machine to scan our cards was not working and we had to transfer since we also didn't have much cash on hand. they mentioned something about it was too soon to give the rest of our money back but my email from booking says the charge should've been reduced.

Verified reviewThis place is pet-friendly. They usually have a restaurant open and lush surroundings.
The restaurant was closed the afternoon we arrived, we had to order expensive and so-so take-out. Also the reception and most of the cabins need a new roof. You can see the age and deterioration of the place. But it served the purpose and accepted our pet.

Unfortanutely owner doesn't care of their guests. Although it is a nice hotel in the jungle where you can see many animals for the night we stayed become a private party place for the daughter of the owner. She with her friends played loud horrible music first near some bungalows and then. We we forced to leave the pool bec they moved to the pool and turned theyr speaker at loudest options, didn't give any respect to the guestsause it was impossible to be there. One women from our group wanted to enter a pool and recieved a derogatory look from one of these ladies. Music was so loud it scared all the animals and birds and heared until the farthest bungalow. When I asked a personal to ask to lower the music they told to me that they are sorry, but she will continue to make the party until 9 p.m. So instead of listening the jungle and observe nature we were forsed to hear loud ugly music all evening and hearing ladies screams, we couldn't use a pool neither. In the morning we were at breakfast at 7.15 when it's starst and wanted to go at 8 to Palenque. We were waiting only for coffee almost an hour and leaved breakfast at 9.30. We been served coffee fruits and eggs for 1,5 hours!!!

Verified reviewI really loved to be in the jungle, away from the traffic of the city center but close enough (5 min by car) for all the services. Cabañas are comfortable with big beds and private gardens, the property is super nice, with a pool, big gardens, restaurant and hammocks. It’s a safe and quiet area.
Breakfast service was a bit slow (1 hour in total)

Awful experience, watch out, or you will get ROBBED!!! We went for dinner one evening and when we came back all my money was stolen from the room! At first the stuff was trying to be helpful and promised to watch the cameras for some clues and after I got very agitated the offerd to reimburse us for on night of stay (not even close to the sum of money that was stolen). On the next day when we asked about the videos they told us they didn't find anything suspicious and went back on the offer of reimbursement. The lock of our room wasn't broken, so either they have very loose locks or some of the workers are in on it and used a key. No wonder they didn't find anything! Worst experience ever, I wish I have read some on the Google reviews first, as there are some similar to mine, not on booking though. I wish we have never stayed there, so if you are thinking about it either carry all your valuable on you all the time or get scammed! They are not accepting card payments, so you have to have cash on you. I wonder why..... please don't make our mistake and get your holidays ruined by staying here!
