How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe location looks like magic, beautiful cabañas around a pool.. very nice. The people were very nice and the cabaña was clean.
We had booked a cabaña for 5 persons but it only had two double beds (normal ones, not king size). Luckily we could use a hamac for the fifth person. I had also hoped we would have access to the lagoon (just behind the cabañas), but that wasn't possible.

I had to fill more paperwork than when asking for a visa 🙄 We filled it on paper upon arrival and it apparently wasn't enough for them so they came bother us at breakfast to do it again on the tablet. They ask all sorts of garantees and deposit, which is quite ridiculous as it's far from being a luxurious place. Flush in the toilet barely worked, same for A/C, smell in the shower and bathroom was quite bad. The check in inventory as they showed up the room tool longer than when signing a lease 😂

Construction workers currently building a new building next to the cabana I was in. So much for R&R. I think the property needed to notify me as to the situation giving me the option of staying or canceling.

Verified reviewI liked the friendly staff a lot (it's one family running this for the owners, so not every day some unmotivated personell etc.), the possibility to use bikes, coffee available, etc. Room has a small fridge as well. I recommend the staff to mail after reservation the best way to get there - could save money using Minibus.
I think it was all good. OK, a small whole in the wall, so theoretically some animals may come into the bathroom. But I do not care that much :)

Verified reviewThe cabins were amazing and really comfortable! They are spacious, clean, and well equipped. The bed is comfy and the net does protect you from any mosquitoes which might have gotten into the room, although I didn’t see any inside (there were many outside, but repellent kept them at bay). The staff was friendly and ready to help, and they lent us beach chairs and an umbrella to use at the beach. The pool was slightly cold, but still quite pleasant and clean! The Wi-Fi works perfectly well for working remotely, and there are sufficient power outlets inside and outside the cabins. On the TV there is Netflix and other streaming platforms. There is also a temazcal (traditional sauna) which works on scheduled days and can seat large groups. There is no kitchen inside the cabins, but there is a fridge to keep food fresh, and there is a shared kitchenette with an electric stove, near the site’s entrance, and the staff can lend you a pan to cook a quick meal. Hot coffee is prepared and served for free twice a day. There is sufficient, safe, and convenient parking space for all guests, and the staff lends you a little trolley so your luggage can be carried around easily to your cabin without getting soiled with sand. I would definitely recommend it to any traveller, and I will surely come back with my family one day! The property has one pet-friendly cabin only, so if you are coming with your pet it’s worth booking and letting them know in advance.

Verified reviewVery friendly and helpful staff. Very charming cabanas and close to a very quiet and secluded beach. With a car you can easily go to restaurants and shops in the city. Across the street, very good and friendly restaurant. The pool was nice and very close to the room.

Verified reviewThere was AC, mini fridge, nice counter space, dresser, room safe, fan, nice shower with great water pressure and heat, handheld shower head, shampoo and conditioner provided, hammock, and tv. Room was clean and sheets were clean. Host had wonderful communication regarding rules, amenities via the iPad which was in English. Location was good with restaurants nearby. Staff was very friendly.
the bug net was connected to the wall by one point so frappes on you while sleeping. would prefer it was held up by 4 points to give more room underneath and feel less claustrophobic.

Verified reviewThe tranquility. Old school like camping with all the amenities. Very close to walk to the beach about 5 minutes. Great restaurant across the street. Fridge microwave and good shower pressure. Eco friendly. Cabana up front of property has cooking equipment to cook food for yourself. Use of bikes and beach chairs to the beach etc. Great value. Pool has shallow end and nice and cool to relax. Very friendly staff.
