Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesMinor things, but it's an old building, so the outlets weren't in the most convenient places to plug in a phone. Also the air conditioning control light was too bright. Recommend covering it up with black tape if you're a sensitive sleeper.
Beautiful, comfortable and safe. Location was the best possible for the activities we had planned. Staff was friendly.

United KingdomThe Quinta Real is a beautiful gem right in the centre of the old town! Set in a converted convent - the room was lovely and charming. The staff were so kind from the moment we arrived and kindly upgraded our room for my partner's birthday. The breakfast is incredible - highly recommend trying everything on the menu, and the wait staff were always attentive and kind! While we didn't use the pool, the hotel gym is great for a quick workout, and the grounds are lovely and quiet. The hotel is only moments walk away from the central square and all the great restaurants. We loved our stay!

United StatesFrom the moment we entered, the staff was on point! We were greeted and welcomed warmly. Over the course of our stay they (primarily “Marco”) provided suggestions for tours and other activities and also helped us make dining reservations to some of the best restaurants in Oaxaca. The pool area was a wonderful place to relax after exploring the city and the grounds themselves were exceptional. La Quinta Real is truly an Oaxacan oasis! We can’t wait to visit again and will highly recommend to our friends.

United KingdomWe arrived at 930pm after a very long day of travels With a sleeping, exhausted baby. When you stay at a 5 star hotel, a 40 minute check in is simply unacceptable. I'm seriously shocked and even 2* hotels I've stayed in never had this issue. Management seriously, seriously needs to look at this. Equally, at this cost, and for a 5*, breakfast should be included. That's pretty mind blowing not to be. And, we booked a certain room. We were shown a tiny room and had to go back to management, late at night, exhausted, to talk and ascertain they didn't give us the right room. They did resolve quickly the next morning but this was just another tiring annoyance.
Beautiful setting. Lovely pool. Great location to explore old town . Excellent cleaning staff - thank you!

United StatesWe'd been in Mexico for just under 3.5 weeks, with one week left before heading home, and decided on an impromptu trip to Oaxaca. I bought our plane tickets on April 20th for departure from Mexico City on the 21st; scheduled a taxi to take us to Benito Juárez from Toluca; and away we went. I looked for a hotel and decided on 2 rooms for 4 nights and 3 days at Quinta Real for our family of five. We arrived late Monday night and checked in with Miguel. His excellent customer service set the tone for the duration of our stay. To my credit union's credit, it is very diligent and protective of my funds, particularly during travels abroad. However, due to their overprotectiveness something prevented my ability to pay when we arrived. This was frustrating and a bit embarrassing. Miguel arranged a solution and accommodated us nonetheless. The following day the issue was resolved and we paid in full. Each ensuing morning, day, and night was characterized by this same degree of congeniality and service. Though we didn't partake of their dining/entertainment or pool, we thoroughly enjoyed our comfortable rooms, room service, and breakfast. After our daily explorations we were always sure to come back to clean rooms. We also appreciated the central location and their recommendation of an excellent personal driver (Marco of Tours con Marco). This is a top notch establishment and their staff goes the extra mile. There is nothing pretentious about Quinta Real and it was well worth the cost. Great place and great people. We'll be back.

Czech RepublicOur room had no window. We were offered to change it to another room with a window, but that one had two beds instead of one king and was even smaller in size. So we refused. The photos of the room on booking won’t necessarily match what you ll get in reality and it can be quite disappointing. Service is a bit corporate, not personal. Also… when you pay almost 500$ a room charging for a cup of filter coffee in the morning is quite strange.
Amazing property, beautiful gardens and common areas. Staff is kind and willing to help. Excellent location, not sure you can get better than that to explore Oaxaca. Overall feeling like you a travelling back in days, even the breakfast transforms you to the medieval days .
