This was a great place to stay because of the location and the roomy layout. Staff were friendly and it was basic but still had all I needed and close to center. They had a fan and I liked the amenities in the bathroom.

No bedside lamp.

Could not have been happier with my week long stay here in this delightful restored colonial. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Parrochia and is close to lots of great restaurants and bars but far enough away to be perfectly peaceful at night as it's on a quiet residential street. There is a small lounge on the ground floor next to the front desk and the rooms are upstairs. Secure parking is free and available in the attached courtyard. My room had a very comfortable queen bed, lovely stained glass windows, a large TV that I never switched on and a shower in a large soaking tub with nice toiletries provided. Not sure the tub is usable for soaking but then I didn't ask or try. Some rooms have terraces with a table and chairs. Everything was very clean and while there was no a/c I doubt you would need it as the screened windows can provide a cross breeze if needed. The front desk is 24x7 and the 2 guys manning it were unfailingly very friendly, helpful and efficient. My room was cleaned promptly every day and 2 fresh bottles of water were provided which I really appreciated. The one thing I might suggest is a bedside lamp as I had to get out of bed to put out the lights. I know; first world problems. Can't wait to come back and enjoy this lovely hotel again especially now that I know my way around SMA. Thank you Casa Arbol and all who work there for a delightful stay.

The room was overpriced. For the condition of the room, it was not worth what I was charged. I stayed the next night in another hotel an hour away and for almost same amount charged, the second was far nicer and worth the price. I don’t think I would stay in this hotel again.

There were maintenance issues that could be easily fixed, such as a partially clogged shower. The room did not have air conditioning and was not well-ventilated, but they provided a fan, which was very helpful as the temperature in San Miguel de Allende reached 33°C during those days. The room lighting was not good and there was no bedside light or power outlets near the bed. The room lacked amenities such as a bottle of water.

The location was not far from the historic center, the room was quiet, and it was possible to park on the premises. The hotel decoration was beautiful and valued local furniture and handicraft.

Rooms very small and very cold. There is a window above the door to the hall so the room is bright as day all night. You can hear everything from the neighbors. The lady at the reception did not have the money to return and said she would give it back to us. But we had to ask for the money when we left, otherwise we would not have received it.

The accommodation is close to the city center. The rooms are clean. Parking is available in the yard.
