Reviews of Casa Iguana Holbox - Beachfront Hotel 3 stars

Lovely grounds and just a few minutes walk to the beach where we had a sunbed with umbrella. Small and shady swimming pool directly outside the room. Big room with AC and hammocks outside. Staff very friendly and helpful. It's a 10 minute walk along the beach to the centre, but there's lots of bars and restaurants along the way.

Wi-fi was patchy but we were aware this would be the case and it worked if you stood closer to reception. No breakfast included or possible on-site which for the price paid would have been nice to have had included.

Great location.

-We stayed for 10 nights at the beginning of April 2025, we were given a room upgrade due to the length of our stay. -The location of the hotel was almost perfect, basically right on the beach(small sandy road between the hotel and it's beachclub). Lots of restaurants within walking distance. -2 small pools at the hotel so you had a choice if one was busy(neither were busy during our entire stay). -Housekeeping brought a small cooler after our first night to keep our drinks cold. -Good value for money. -Very quiet. -Very clean and well maintained overall(beach club could use some upgrades however).

A couple of minor items. -The room had no fridge, I understand that this is not uncommon in small hotels in locations like this but even a small mini fridge would be great to keep drinks cool. -There is no seating around the pools unless you are in a room that is right beside the pool. If you are in an upstairs room you can't really sit around by the pool. -The condition of the loungers and umbrellas at the beach club was on the older and worn out side of things. We used the hotel beach club 2 days and then moved on to the NANA beach club 2 doors down that had much better seating and more selection of food and drinks. NANA was 600mxn pp consumption vs 500 for the hotel beachclub(maybe no minimum for hotel guests?) -The hotel seems to have Starlink internet but with minimal routers the wifi was poor in our room(but we didn't come to Isla Holbox to be connected, we came to disconnect and unwind so this was really a positive!)

Great location, staff were friendly. It’s a cute hotel and tidy. Beach access is great. Good value for money. The rooms were nice and tidy. The cleaning was good overall however some of the sheets were stained.

Staff was really helpful! Any question we had - the team was always there to help! Also, the room was super clean every day. Basically, you will have have everything you need, even more for the good price. By the way, the balcony is great and the team can bring some food from the restaurant directly in there!

The rooms don’t have the fridge, so be prepared to buy the ice in the nearest shop. I think it’s done on purpose to make people buy the alcohol in the bar. Anyway, it’s not convenient at all.

Very comfortable and clean. Beach access to best beach strip steps away from your room. Close to walk into town for meals. Nice bar, nice pools. Kind staff. All round great experience for our family - highly recommend.

Edwin is the nicest person ever! The room was nice, the bed was good, the AC was great, but the bathroom has 2 problems: The showerhead was not good, and the toilet got clogged several times even for peeing Other than that, the proximity to the hotels beach club was awesome! In my opinion,, it's the best location on the island as it's not too far from the center but also not in the center where there's too many people and the beach imo is less nice than Iguanas beach area. We would definitely come here again

Love this place! It’s our fourth stay. The restaurant has reopened (it was closed during our stay last year) and they have added a little bar. They have made great improvements to the beach area since our last stay. The location and staff can’t be beat. Until next year!

Right on the beach. AMAZING staff, who gave us a free upgrade to a room just feet from the beach. Very clean, spacious rooms. The hammock in the room, facing the beach is a lovely touch. When I return to Holbox, I will be staying here again. Everything is fantastic !!!

A TV in the room would have been good, but that's my only fault. It's an AMAZING place.

Loved the location on a beautiful part of the beach away from the center , but still close enough to walk in to town for lunch etc.

Restaurant prices were really high and over priced they added 15% tip on everything! I want to choose the tip myself!

Everything was great

Well located, close to the beach. You can enjoy the sunbeds freely and easily access the center. The room met our expectations : it was qualitative. There are a lot of breakfast places in Holbox so we didn’t test the hotels restaurant.

The staff were polite and the rooms were cleaned well each day. Location was great for a short walk into Holbox Centre.

Very basic room and although listed as a sea view room, it was situated by the restaurant minimizing the view . The glass wasn’t tinted so people could easily see in and the music played throughout the day was loud. Also charged extra on arrival and when challenged staff claimed it was an additional 5% with conversion fees despite the booking saying all fees and charges were already included in price listed on the website.

Loved our stay in this hotel! Right on the beautiful beach with beach beds and towels provided as well as table service for beers/cocktails/food. Staff were really friendly and inviting too - also very helpful with organising taxis etc. The rooms themselves are simple but decorated really nicely - lovely lighting, great air con as well as ceiling fan. Showers were always hot too. Pools were both great and very clean too. Hotel is in the best part of the beach. Can’t fault this hotel!

Could have done with a couple more hangers in the room and the cocktails were a little expensive. Other than that I loved it all.

It was ok. Nothing special.

There is not really a beachfront. The road divides the rooms from the beach. The rooms are very simple. Too many rules and conditions. There is extra charge for everything. Even if the towels gets dirty. No breakfast included.

Great locations especially if you want to be able to walk straight across to the beach. The staff were very helpful in arranging a last minute tour.
