Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandA Delightful Stay by the Beach and Lagoon We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. It’s a truly lovely spot, perfect for relaxing (“wuczilować”) and letting go of everyday stress. The location couldn’t be better—just a short stroll to the sandy beach and equally close to the enchanting Río Lagartos lagoon. The option to add breakfast and dinner was a great convenience, and the meals themselves were exceptional—delicious, well-prepared, and a true highlight of our stay. In short, this charming hotel offers a serene ambiance, easy access to both the sea and nature, and outstanding dining options. Highly recommended for anyone seeking relaxation with a touch of culinary delight!

BelgiumNothing bad to declare!
Mauricio made poetry in his little corner. Very familiar, very cosy and with 2 bonuses... the two amazing dogs! They will do you a tour on the beach and protect you from all strangers! The breakfast was very qualitative, homemade by Mauricio. Ideal place for total mindfulness.

United StatesCasa Jade is low-key and quiet, with a charming Caribbean-funk aesthetic, great staff, and a couple of cool canines who loved belly scratches and joining us at the beach. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable. We were traveling with dear friends and their 6-year-old twins, and Casa Jade provided the perfect spot of us to hang and chat. A short walk to the beach, which is a part of an ecological preserve, brings one to a lovely all but deserted beach. The landscape beyond the beachfront is gorgeous, dunes with a mosaic of vegetation. No bars, no nightlife, few tourists--who happened to be us. Perfect. Mauricio's meals were delicious, if not Mexican, but a nearby taco stand serving fabulous tacos and a seafood restaurant serving great ceviche suited us well. For those seeking peace and nature, I highly recommend.

CanadaThis should not be a negative issue, as it was known in advance, but it's location makes it a relatively isolated site. There is only one restaurant of which it's hours are limited. There is no café. The site is located in a very rural (and poor) area.
The concept of individual huts is pleasing; The layout of the site is very appealing; The site is well kept, exceptionally beautiful, and makes you feel in a jungle; The owner and host if a very good man with a nice life story. Relatively "close" to Rio Lagartos, which is a must if you wish to see alligators and flamingos close up; Within a five-minute walk from a totally deserted beach; Site is enclaved in an "all-nature" setting;

United KingdomMauricio himself and his team were incredibly easy to chat to and helpful. The dogs were super friendly and showed us to the beach where we spent a significant time playing with them. Would highly recommend Casa Jade for its whole vibe, the proximity to the sea and its remoteness, and the delicious home cooked food

United StatesI specifically went there because the posted they had bicycles, but upon arriving, its was explained to me he didn't have any available because nobody used them. I'm sure that's the case however I had to use my car to go everywhere around the town. Which is rather inconvenient as things were only a few blocks away here and there, would have made for an easy bike ride.
Great place for a couple or a nomad. Don't really need more than 1 night. You can do the salt mine tour in 30 mins just to give you an idea.

CanadaWe had a great stay at Casa Jade. Mauricio is an attentive and welcoming host and the location was perfect for everything we wanted to do. The bungalows are simple and thoughtfully decorated with comfy beds and mosquito nets. We only spent time in them at night as the property has lots of spots to just chill and there is lots to do in the surrounding area. We spent one day at the beautiful white sand beach, which is a five-minute walk around the corner. We walked over 10km and swam all morning and didn’t see a single other person there. In general, we really appreciated that Las Coloradas was much quieter than Río Lagartos. On our second day, we did a trip into the biosphere reserve, which was an exceptional birding experience! Mauricio is a great cook and he also recommended where to dine in town for the best ceviche and the where to see the flamingos on the pink lakes from public access points. Overall, we loved our time at Casa Jade and in Las Coloradas and we will definitely stay with Mauricio again if we ever go back!

This place was perfect for us, as we were looking for an eco-friendly spot near the beach. The staff was amazing and very helpful, providing great tips for local trips. I would definitely recommend this place if you appreciate eco-lodges, especially those built by the owner using mostly recycled materials found on the beach.

This is a magical place. It's not for those looking for a 5 star resort. It's for those who want a laid back and funky atmosphere. You feel like you're glamping. Mauricio has put his heart and soul into this place and it shows. Service and food was excellent

IcelandIf you like sleeping in, forget about it. Birds here are a no snooze alarm that goes off at about 5:30 in the morning. You experience nature, no doubt about it.
There is a relaxed hippie vibe going on at this place. It is unique. It is not supposed to be a luxurious accommodation, but the beds and the linens certainly were. We slept very well, food was tasty, and there was a lot of art and craft to rest your eyes on. Mauricio is friendly and an interesting character, and his assistant Heidi is an amazing cook. If you are looking for something different, closer to nature and a bit adventurous, this might be a good match.

United KingdomThis is a beautiful place. There are hammocks and lots of interesting decorations that create a lovely atmosphere that encourages visitors to relax and switch off. It's rustic and simple with basic security (padlock on door with jute and net walls/windows). Rebecca and Jari are great hosts - very friendly, helpful and kind. They are happy to help organise tours if you wish but are not pushy. It is not directly on the beach, but set back a tiny bit with a short walk to access the beach. We visited the coloured lakes and watched the sunset on the beach - beautiful!
