Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

SwitzerlandOur room was great but there was a lot of problems: The door lock was really malfunctioning, we couldn’t open the window so it was always really humid, the walls have mold everywhere, there are little insects everywhere due to humidity and also the door is glassed so everyone can see you in your room because the curtains are really bad especially if you have the room giving right in the common kitchen. Also It misses a bit of cleaning, the towels smells bad and there are spider web almost everywhere.
the common spaces were cool and the decoration is cute. The staff was really nice and gave us great advices about the city.

GermanyOne thing I would say is that the joint kitchen was not very clean, other guests leaving food in pots etc. This is not necessarily the hostel's fault, but if you plan on cooking a lot during your stay, might be a bit annoying.
Perfect hostel to discover the magic of Oaxaca! Staff as well as the owner are super friendly and helpful (loved the staff's music choices for breakfast ;)). Rooms are cleaned every day and you get fresh towels every day too which we were not used to from other hostels. Our highlight was the rooftop terrace with a sports area (mats available for free) and a chill area to hang out and get to know other travellers. Location right next to Jalatlaco, a colourful artsy neighbourhood, and a parc with street food.

Czech RepublicWe really didn’t enjoy showers. The water pressure is so light that it was really hard to rinse off the soap or shampoo. Same with toilet, water pressure is very low so flushing something bigger than a number one, was an issue.
Big thumbs up for the volunteers and the staff. They are amazing and just because of them we had to give higher review points. The room was clean. The location is very good, but can be loud. Even if it’s not completely in the city centre, there are some bars around with loud music.

AustraliaCoffee at breakfast was Ok but toast and watermelon isn’t worth bothering about.
As far as hostels go, this was quite good. We couldn’t get in anywhere else for day of the dead at a reasonable price. It was well run and staff were very helpful. We slept fine and the room was spacious but very basic.I would recommend it to backpackers.

HungaryThey should put a different curtain it felt like everyone could see us, also we heard every noise especially the music in the morning. The breakfast was disappointing, not enough fruit and not juice or water just coffee and tea.
The location was good, pretty close to the center. The staff was nice, also it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the place had a good vibe.

PolandNothing, all was great.
The staff of the hotel was super friendly and helpful. Fun people to be around. I stayed in the female shared room (6 beds). The rooms were maintained regularly and clean. Water pressure in the shower was very good and had warm water. No bugs. Nice, simple breakfast. Check in was very easy and the host even offered to wait for me a bit in case I was running late for the check-in. Location is very convenient, close to the historic center and ADO bus stop. It also feels very safe. There are lockers in case you need to store small bag. Price to quality ratio is very good. I can only recommend this place and would definitely be back there!

ItalyDoors are very loud to open and close and one can hear everything going on at the common areas, curtains are not big enough so there's lights from the toilets entering on the shared bedroom, bed sheets are synthetic, 30 pesos for towels, toilets not all working properly and toilets door need renovation.
Helpful staff, nice rooftop to chill.

GermanyThe doors of the room were not very soundproof. One can hear everything happening outside at the corridor. I recommend earplugs. The breakfast was fairly poor.
The staff was very nice and the location perfect close to the ADO terminal.

New ZealandOur room was extremely hot - we had to go to bed wet to make it through the night. We also had only one window (that looked out on to a very dirty bathroom) so had to keep our door open to get fresh air. The staircase to get to our room was a bit flimsy.
The location of thos hostel was perfect - close to the bus station and a 15ish minute walk to the main square. The breakfast is very basic (coffee, toast, jam and fruit) but all good. The toilets and showers were clean and there were lots of activities going on (from movie nights to dance lessons). We were also able to leave our stuff there after we checked out.

DenmarkKitchen is a bit too small to do much cooking but there is a fridge to keep things. The hostel was almost empty when I was there so not much social life if that’s what you’re looking for.
Really good location in trendy and very cool area and only 5 min walk to ado bus station. Big dorm rooms with plenty of space for luggage etc. it was very quiet when I stayed so I had the dorm largely to myself which was a nice luxury. Good value for money

MexicoGreat playe with good value for the money. A lot of space, huge rooftop. It is not one of these tiny hostels where every meter a bed is squezed in but you have room to breath an live. Was really quite the days I stayed there, I even had the dorm for myself which was quite a luxury. Kind people working there. Free breakfast and small but good communnity kitchen. Really good location, less than 5 min walk from the bus terminal, which comes handy if you travel with some luggage and planning to take a night bus. Also it just around the corner of the hipster/streetart quarter Jalatlaco and only 10 min walk to the main plaza.

Czech RepublicVery poor breakfast (toast with jam and fruit) - you have to do everything by your own - toast, boil water for tea, clean diahes after yourself. Doesn't understand the name hotel in the name of accommodation. its definitely hostel type only. Our doors were so loud that every visit of the toilet in the night had to wake up everyone (just a bit oil and it could be solved, but Noone does it).
The location is good the American receptionist was very friendly Water filter to fill your bottle

RussiaThe pictures are nicer than a reality, breakfast is just coffee (not good quality one), fruits and bread. My room’s window was just in front of the toilets. When people are hanging out in the lobby you have lights in the room (the curtain didn’t help much)

New ZealandThe set up of the rooms was quite annoying. The rooms surround a central courtyard area and the doors are made of corrugated metal. So it is noisy with people banging the doors and talking out in the courtyard. I found the room door to open so it was hard to be quiet. Also (not a deal breaker) but it would have been nice if the wifi reached down to my room.
It seemed like a very social hostel. There was a what's app channel where the staff shared information about events going on and answering any questions. The hostel is extremely cheap. But you are getting what you pay for, so if you are used to nicer facilities it might be worth spending the extra money.

United KingdomI wasn't quite keen on the lockers being in the reception area. Even though they were padlocked, I'd feel more comfortable with them being in the same room as me. But that's just my preference and the whole place felt really friendly and secure, so no issue really x
It's like a calm little oasis in the middle of the busy city. I love it. Great WiFi in the common areas and it's a really good space to work from too. I stayed in a female dorm and slept like an absolute dream. The showers are really great too. I accept that many places the water isn't that warm, but these hot showers were a real treat. There's a massive roof top area, with a lovely little bar ($50 for a really nice Espadin Mexcal? Yes please!) and plenty of room for yoga. This hostel will always be my first choice for booking in the city from now on.

IrelandPerfect location, nice chill out areas, toast and fruit for breakfast in the morning. There is a lovely rooftop area for chilling also. Good kitchen with equipment for cooking. We could check in early as our room was ready, but equally the chairs in the chill out area were perfect while we waited - which is needed after a night bus. We also could store our bags and use the space to chill out the day we were leaving.

We enjoyed our stay here, the owner is super friendly and asked how we were every day. When one of us got sick she was very sweet and we ended up extending our stay. The rooms are small but comfortable. They’re always cleaning and everything is kept spotless. Location is ideal, 5 min walk from the bus station.
