Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe pool looked dirty. No fridge in the room. No safe. The breakfast is poor (stale buns, black coffee, apples and bananas) - better than nothing but don't bother with breakfast here. Staff is ok. They could be more helpful and friendly.
Location is good. It's quiet. Good value. Nice vibe.

MexicoWould prefer: More breakfast, washing the hammocks, more chlorine in the pool
The location is great, walking distance to many nice places. The rooms are quite clean, pretty, and spacious and the beds are comfy. The garden area with the pool is relaxing and pretty. Also the staff were really nice, they gave us lots of good tips, and one of them even turned on some colorful pool lights at night for my son to play (he loved that!) It has a nice hostel type of feeling in that other guests are friendly and you can chat with them at the common tables, which is nice.

For the lower budget this hotel is excellent in every way. Great helpful staff. We were very happy with the location. Make your way to the church, that is connected to great restaurants shops and bars. Could have stayed so much longer.

United StatesOn our first day at Casa Pakal, we did not have towels! The staff mentioned that they were still literally washing the towels. That's a bit strange considering this is a hotel! After speaking to the young woman, I assumed they would come around to deliver those towels once they had been washed. That didn't happen. We had to use a beach towel that we had previously purchased to get through the first night at the hotel. Also, their breakfast is more like "croissants, jelly, coffee, and fruit." This left much to be desired about the many other hotels we've stayed at. The gentleman at the front desk was mostly friendly but a bit awkward, so I didn't engage him as much about "things to do" in the area. He lives at the hotel and is the owner's nephew. Overall, a nice guy. Back to the breakfast situation, my wife and I had an early morning departure, and coffee wasn't ready, so we had to settle for a croissant. Not much of a breakfast at all, unfortunately. Please beef up your offerings. Otherwise, it really leaves people feeling a little disappointed. The expectation is that if breakfast is included, it is a solid offering, meaning it is filling and has various options. Slapping something together and calling it a "Breakfast Included" hotel is simply inaccurate.
Casa Pakal was close to the Calzada de Los Frailes and the ex-convent, where they have a cool light show at 9pm most days! We enjoyed staying quite a bit. They also have a third floor, which has a cool hangout spot. My wife and I enjoyed the hammocks quite a bit. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was nice.

DenmarkThe pool is very small and doesn’t get sunlight. It’s therefore not super tempting to use it. Breakfast was weird as many people say, but at least there is free coffee.
Very nice room with big bed and aircondition. The hotel is overall very beautiful and peaceful. Very nice rooftop terrace for relaxing. Kitchen works well.

Excellent location close to calle Frailes and good value for money. Comfortable room and the communal kitchen is very handy. The staff were friendly. We had read about the dogs barking next door, but that was only occasional.

AustraliaBreakfast could have been better, the rolls were a bit stale - we just went to the Soriana 350m away and got fresh bread rolls at 6 pesos each.
The room was beautifully appointed and nicely furnished, very clean. Such a great location, close to the main areas but very quiet. Shared kitchen was also useful.

MexicoImprove the breakfast, its very minimal. pool could be a little clearer.
The staff were all super nice, and the room was soooo comfy + peaceful. A huge bed, large room, beautiful floor tiles and colors, a quite clean bathroom with a great rain-style shower. My little son loved the hammocks around the pool, and there's also a nice terrace on the upper floors. We liked the communal breakfast table--like that we met some nice people. Excellent location just a 1 minute walk from the Calzado de Frailes.

United KingdomThe hotel is perfectly located just 1 minute away from the beautiful Calzada de los Frailes, so you can start your walk through the beautiful, atmospheric Valladolid right from the hotel. The hotel itself is lovely and has all the facilities you might need. You can find parking on the street.

SloveniaThe receptionists could have been a bit more informative. The prices they offer for transportation to cenotes or the mayan sites are sometimes double than what you can get elsewhere in the city, something to keep in mind. Also, I know this is not the hotels fault, but boy do those neighbour dogs need some lovin’ (barking all day and all night), if you are sensitive to noise, thats also something to consider.
Big and spaceous rooms.
