Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaIt's not Pronoia's fault, but the weather wasn't good, there was a lot of seaweed and plastic trash on the beach that prevented entering the water.

CanadaBeautiful, private location on the ocean. Our accommodation was on the beach with an amazing breeze to keep us cool. Oskar made us feel so welcome and was an excellent and thoughtful host. A highlight was a delicious barbecue dinner that the staff cooked and served at an outdoor communal table. The stars were spectacular!

PolandThere is usually no hot water in the bathroom, but who cares about that in the Caribbean?
I think this is not a place for everyone. If you are into "all inclusive" hotels in Cancun, this probably is not the place for you. If you can enjoy a "place out of this world", with a paradise beach right outside your window, coconuts picked by yourself and a calm and relaxed atmosphere - it is hard to find a better place. Very friendly and helpful staff, tasty food served on site (fish tacos!!). Clean sheets and towels (contrary to some comments). 10/10 from me, I would like to go back there someday...

NetherlandsThe mattress in our room was old and hard, but because the place is so peaceful we still slept OK. The pizza was surprisingly bad, while it's really difficult to mess up pizza in my view.
This accommodation is the dream. The house itself is on the beach. You can walk the beach for half an hour without seeing people. you find at the beach. The tranquility, the peace, the quiet, the cosiness, it's paradise. Free of charge, you can go canoeing, use their beach beds, hang on a hammock 3 meters from the water, find and chop your own coconut or watch the sunrise or sunset on the rooftop and enjoy the magical view. Overall the place was very cheap, while we had a huge room with a separate sitting area, a table, chair, couch, big closet. They offer food; the fresh fish (catch of the day) and the empanadas are really great.

United KingdomThere was very little I didn't like. It's a little way out from Mahahual so getting to the shop takes a short while. But other than that, very little negative feedback.
The room I had looked out over the beach and the sea, and it was beautiful. The staff were really friendly and the owner was a lovely chap. The food made onsite was very reasonably priced and delicious. The chill out areas were great too. Nicely tucked away so no passing trade or loud noises from establishments. I really enjoyed my stay here and hope to come back one day.

United StatesThe bed left a lot to be desired...
This place is a dream. The constant sound of the sea, snorkling off the beach, stars from the rooftop, peace and quiet on a long stretch of beach far away from anything else. The kitchen is well equipped, nice common living room, plenty of space to spread out. Very clean and well-kept property, staff and volunteers were all lovely. Until I can return, I will dream about it!

MexicoThe taxi cost lol
The staff is amazing!!, quiet place, far from downtown, practically private beach, if you come by car, drive carefully, if you come by public transport, keep in mind that the taxi charges 450 one way and another 450 for return to downtown. It's far from everything, but they have a kitchen, great food, drinks, and a peaceful feeling all throughout the place.

ItalyThe mattress was quite soft but that's a personal preference - everything else was great!
Gorgeous location in the middle of nowhere, perfect to disconnect and relax just in front of the sea. We booked last minute and had a lovely discounted price for the little house in front of the sea. Just amazing being so close to shore and waking up/falling asleep to the sound of waves. The room was really big (with 2 bed) clean and with a private bathroom. The house has a lot to offer, from a fully equipped kitchen, to a nice living/chilling room with bar, hammocks and activities on the terrace. You can use the snorkelling equipment, paddle board, yoga mats and enjoy your stay without needing to bring your own. There's a little shop just 10min away (walking) but you can also eat there :) Lovely stay!

FranceSargassum algea showed up on our first day. Not really bothering except that a lot of plastic pollution came with it. México should do something about this plastic and stop blaming everybody else for it (US, Cuba, Cruise boats,...).
Very relaxed place, right on the beach, far from the Mahahual craziness. The staff is always available through whatsapp. Snorkeling is good in the lagoon: rays, barracuda, scorpion fish, ...

SingaporeNo hot shower, bathroom floor is not very level so water doesn’t drain well, would be good to have a bathroom mat
Location is kinda far from main town centre and the only transport available is taxi (300 pesos each way) but it is worth making the trip! The place is quiet, right on the beach, great to stargaze on the rooftop at night. There’s also a kitchen (there’s no supermarket in the vicinity but you could order food from them if you don’t want to cook) and plenty of comfortable space to lounge around. Chino (the owner) and his team of volunteers are nice and friendly. They’re constantly working on making the place better. Bed is comfortable, I had a great sleep! There’s no aircon (could get really hot in the day with mozzies) but there’s a fan in the room. I enjoyed my stay a lot and wished I could stay on longer because it’s such a beautiful, peaceful place

AustraliaThe matress is lined with plastic we think so it's a bit noisy when laying down.
Amazing remote location with big kitchen and other common areas. Would recommend to buy groceries before you get here, as there is not much around (a small shop a couple of minutes walking). You can also eat there, they have a chef on site. Beach is full of palm trees with coconuts - you can pick some and ask for a machete. They will open then for you, you can open it yourself or they can show you how to do it also! The staff was super friendly and you can ask for whatever you need. We were there off season, so we were there with only 4-5 other people, so we had the whole place to ourself. They have a rooftop great for watching sunrise over the sea or sunset over the jungle. They have a slackline, ping pong table and volleyball net to do some sports and you can borrow snorkel Equipment free of charge too. Our cabin/room was huge! Also a big plus is having a hanging chair (not sure how to call it) in the room. Perfect place to relax for a couple of days and do some snorkeling. They have great coral reefs there!
