Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Hong KongComfortable rooms and an absolutely stunning view of the city. Omar was a fantastic host to the point where he found my prepaid reservation and realised I had unnecessarily paid for an extra child (I didn’t realise) and arranged for money refunded! The breakfasts were among the best food we have had in Mexico and being served while overlooking the incredible city is an experience of a lifetime.

New ZealandThere was nothing I didn’t like, however our room was quite small and the water pressure is not strong. As you’ve got the best of you in town, this means that you have to climb a bit of a hill to the property however for an able-bodied person this is no problem.
I booked Casa Rofo because of the view and it is amazing. Omar and his wife are superb hosts and his breakfasts on the deck looking out over the view are also superb. Omar was great in offering suggestions and also in arranging transport. He even got up at 4am to ensure we got away ok!

United StatesI loved it all, however, keep in mind, to get the best views, you will have to walk up a few minutes. The uphill is all well-paved with handrails. If you are moderately fit, this will be a perfect way to stay fit and feel energized. If not, a quick Uber or taxi up from town is an inexpensive option.
Casa Rofo is a hidden gem! The property is clean, spacious, well-stocked with what you need, and creatively decorated. The owners/hosts are super friendly, attentive and responsive. Omar, chef/owner makes a delicious breakfast for you to enjoy on their terrace. The VIEWS are the BEST in town, hands down. You are simply mesmerized by the 360 Degrees views. You are surrounded by the amazing colonial beauty Guanajuato has as you are enjoying your first meal of the day. What a perfect way to start your day! Casa Rofo is the place to stay if you want to be close to town (5 min walk), stay in a clean and spacious room, eat a delicious breakfast and have the best views of the day AND night views of the city. We love Casa Rofo and will be back!

Great food, great staff, beautiful food and close to central. WiFi was good, Omar helped us with transport. We slept with the windows open and the cool breeze was fantastic. Breakfast on the upper balcony with a beautiful view of the town every morning.

United StatesI liked everything, you need to be ok with stairs!
I loved staying at Casa Rofo, the room was big, the bed was super comfortable, the sheets and towels were nice, and the view from the terrace over the city is even better than the pictures. The location is perfect, you walk down one (steep) pedestrian street, and at the end you get to Café Tal, a really popular café. From there, you walk across the street and into the historic center with the teatro, museums, churches, the University, etc all within a few minutes walk. There is so much happening in the center, lots of live music and lots of fun, but I was glad to retreat back to a quieter place to sleep in the evening. The street up to Casa Rofo was very well lit in the evening. As a solo female traveler I felt very comfortable. There are also lots of green taxis around town you can take if you don't want to walk. Waking up to an amazing breakfast with a beautiful view from the terrace was definitely worth the walk. Omar and his wife are so friendly and helpful, and he will point out everything you need to know to be oriented in town. He also has a degree in gastronomy, so he knows how to prepare a really tasty breakfast, and he knows all the preparation precautions to take using purified water so foreigners can eat everything he prepares. Guanajuato is such a cool town, and I am so glad I found Casa Rofo!

Hong KongThere are stairs inside the house. If you have a big suitcase it’s tough to bring it to your room. But the owner helped us carry our suitcases the whole time, so it’s not really a problem.
The property is located up the hill but it’s accessible by uber. The room is stylishly decorated and clean. The rooftop is amazing with a panoramic view of the valley. You can enjoy a healthy breakfast prepared by the owner there.

AustraliaOmar is the perfect host. His warm, friendly personality and welcoming manner makes you feel right at home. The breakfast on the rooftop with breathtaking views is an absolute bonus and sets you up for a perfect day. The room was super spacious and the bed wonderfully comfortable after lots of walking. Omar was always available for help and you can message him any time. During my stay it really did feel like ‘Me casa es tu casa’. Thanks for a memorable stay Omar.

ChinaOthers say the hill and while that is true I didn’t mind it. It’s not that hard as long as you are average fitness and don’t run up it. But certainly not for anyone with mobility issues. The hill can be circumvented easily with an Uber ride but the small spiral staircase inside the hotel cannot be. The host helped carry all bags up to the room though and it was fine, again assuming average mobility levels.
The view and host were both amazing. The host was extremely helpful and welcoming, and the food was very good. The food was made 10x better though by the balcony it’s eaten on with the view. The room itself was nothing special but was still good.

United KingdomBear in mind that the view comes at the cost of walking up the hill from town - and a steep stair up to the terrace. Not a place to stay if you have mobility issues. This is made clear by the host at the point of booking.
We loved our stay at Casa Rofo. Omar is the best of hosts, helpful, courteous and made excellent breakfasts for us - he's a trained chef. The terrace has a magnificent view of the lovely city of Guanajuato. It's gorgeous up there in the morning. Others have mentioned neighbouring noise. Apart from the occasional barking dog we weren't bothered by it and slept well.

United KingdomGuests should be prepared for the steep walk up to Casa Rofo and sometimes the sound of dogs barking. This comes with the territory.
Casa Rofo was like a home away from home and Omar really went out of his way to make my stay comfortable. The view from the roof terrace is incredible and having breakfast served up there was the favourite part of my day. The room facilities including fridge, iron and hair dryer were an added bonus.

CanadaThere are many barking dogs so ear plugs are a must. The shower pressure was very low but that seems to be normal in Mexico.

United StatesIt was a little noisy at night with barking dogs and other sounds like music and someone working on their car, but earplugs did the trick.
The. Location is very safe and central. It’s a short 5 minute walk into town, but be prepared for lots of steps. If you have mobility issues it’s a climb. We loved the view from the terrace. It was a perfect place to have breakfast or watch the sunset. The staff was very helpful and kind. The location can be a bit noisy at night on the weekends, but that’s the same everywhere in town.

GermanyUnfortunately, my room was very dark and not cozy decorated. But I wasn't there to be in my room. Guanajuato is a beautiful city with many corners to be discovered.
Of course you book this place for the view. As well as for the very friendly owners. They are excellent hosts.

Omar and his wife are two wonderful persons! After a very warm welcome, she introduced me the main highlights of the city of Guanajuato from the stunning terrace of Casa Rofo where they also offer a delicious homade breakfast. There is nothing better then looking at the colourful city while sipping your coffee with a breathtaking view. Casa Rofo is located just a few steps from the city center. My room was spotless and extremly "cozy" Wifi was excellent at all times. They helped me ¹ arreange my taxi early morning to the airport and she stayed up with me on the door waiting for the taxi to pick me up at 4a.m. I truly had a great unforgettable stay with them There is no best option than being a stranger but feeling like you were at home. Thank you once again Omar and Jaky for making myself at home. Your pancakes were fluffy and flavourful.
