Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe room was supposed to have air conditioning, but it didn't work. And the rooms don't have an outside view.
Excellent location and the staff very kind. Overall the hotel is quite nice, the bad thing is that it doesn't have an elevator.

United StatesThe pool is pretty cold and the location can be noisy. But it's close to everything, so that is just part of the deal. I asked for an interior room, which was totally fine!
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, food generally good too! It's a beautiful and historic building. Overall, they do a great job cleaning and accommodating.

United StatesWe stayed in the Presidential Suite because we needed enough beds for a family of four adults. The only thing that we didn’t like was that the room faces the street and you can hear every loud vehicle drive by. We were also awakened by loud fireworks celebrations at 4:00 a.m. The hotel can use better noise canceling windows and or walls.
We liked that the suit we stayed in was very spacious and clean. The hotel has art hanging on all the walls which you can buy if you like. The hotel is also very close to the center of the action. It’s approximately a five minute walk.

United StatesHotel staff told me shuttle is free and can be arranged if advance notice is given. I told them the night before and an hour before my expected departure. I was told shuttle was not available and was forced to use a taxi or miss my flight. Taxi charge was ridiculous for the location and time to the airport. I felt robbed. :(

United StatesOverall we were happy.
We arrived around 10 pm at the airport and you can take a shared shuttle. We were with about 8 others and didn't know what to expect but we were the 1st to be dropped off. Turns out it was an excellent location. The hotel ambiance is over the top beautiful. One of the complaints one might find are how small the rooms are. We had a junior suite on the 2nd floor and by American standards was basically a small hotel room. Therefore, be aware when you book the size of the room may or may not be suitable for your needs. I think there might be better values out there but the staff, having the restaurant there, cleanliness of hotel, and location made it a decent value.

CanadaThe shower head was not great - but in the big picture that seemed a small price to be in such a wonderful building.
In this converted convent most rooms open into a central open air 2 storey courtyard that allows natural light to stream into the rooms. The architecture is beautiful and filled with historic items. Staff were very welcoming and helpful when we requested a different room - the first floor rooms don't enjoy the same natural light so we moved to the second floor.

Beautifully maintained and very clean. Rooms and beds on the small size, but this is a historic building and there are large terraces outside with plenty of seating and tables available. Very friendly and helpful staff and a great location very close to the zocolo.

United KingdomBecause it's a historical building, rooms are small and the furniture they include is not thought through to make the most of the small spaces. Windows also open onto the courtyard or terrace areas so there is limited privacy. The beds were ok but small and not that comfortable. We had two rooms and the air conditioning did not work in one of them. The showers were poor too - they need to replace the showerheads as the water goes in all sorts of directions!
This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The building is just gorgeous, with a covered courtyard for eating, a good sized pool and several terraced areas covered in lush green plants and cacti. It feels very Oaxacan with brightly coloured walls and tiling. The location is perfect, just two blocks from the main pedestrianised street which links the Zocalo to the other main square. Leave the hotel and you are in the thick of things within 3 minutes - the hotel is a perfect oasis from all that hustle and bustle when you're sitting on a quiet terrace or chilling in the pool.
