Reception staff weren't as nice as the resort staff. Not the main desk, but the "concierge" guys who are actually all time share sales people, to be honest!! We went to them on a couple of occasions for various reasons having been told to "come to them with any problems" and were unceremoniously sent away, saying they "couldn't help". This put a really bad taste in our mouths and if it wasn't for the resort staff, we'd be really upset!! They press hard on the membership presentations, but when we said we were already members elsewhere, they did back off. I did speak to people who were being bugged quite heavily about it, though. The pool bar was painful with service sometimes when busy. They should have staffed up to cope with that as it happens at the same times every day and it wasn't uncommon to wait 20mins+ for a drink. Eg. They kept running out of prosecco, which is a popular need for several drinks and one guy in particular would just say "no, we don't have it" whereas others would run off to a store room to get a couple of bottles, but leaving the bar even shorter staffed then! At a pool bar, they need a bussman just restocking continually. Elevators "out of service" across the resort. The lighthouse elevator broke down (literally) every 15 minutes and needed resetting. Walked up one evening and that's not a pretty walk! Its like a multi-storey car park, concrete stairwell (although to be fair, doesn't smell of urine) with beer barrels and equipment strewn all the way up. Wifi was extremely spotty, especially in our room. Weirdly, it worked great in the bathroom, but not sitting at the table where I wanted to do some work (?) It was OK when in the rest of the resort, to be fair, but was a pain when my son had to sit on the toilet to have his iPad connect!

The place is generally in good condition but not excellent; it's been recently taken over, so it's a work in progress. All the resort staff were amazing! Lots of smiles and greetings and great service. However, see below for concierge. The buffet restaurant, although not very big, was generally good; breakfast was really well catered, and it also had varied food selection each day and evening. "Oriental night" was NOT as successful, though. They should stick to what they are good at! There are a couple of à la carte restaurants for evening bookings, both of which were very good; Mexican and Italian. The snack bar is THE BEST I've experienced at any Mexican resort! Irene and staff worked tirelessly from early morning til late afternoon, keeping a wide array of foods replenished and fresh. Too many to note all, but tortillas, hot dogs, burgers, chicken wings complimented with salads, cerveche, guacamole etc etc. The pools were all gloriously clear and warm. The gardens are well kept and beautiful. Our room was clean, beds great, maid service great if needed. Restocking our fridge with waters, beers and soft drinks.

My only negative about our stay was that they did have construction remodeling going on. For the most part this did not interfere with anything we wanted to do. But the elevator service was reduced (one of the two main cars was out of service and the other car sometimes seemed to make random stops) which was a minor inconvenience. And we were warned on arrival that the beautiful beach was not swim friendly for most of Cabo area (strong tides and steep drop off}.

We traveled with a large group of 4 adults and 3 children under the age of 9. The restaurants were very accommodating and friendly. There was a kid's center that allowed the adults to relax on property for a few hours without the kids. And there were multiple very nice pools with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas.

My husband and I had an extended stay at the GR Solaris Lighthouse for 5 weeks on the third floor. José and Arturo were always warm, friendly, and willing to help us when we returned to the resort every day. The resort is kept up well. It may need a little updating but you always see someone cleaning all the surrounding areas and maintaining the grounds. The maids always kept our room clean and fresh and when we didn’t need a cleaning they made sure we had enough supplies. We had a strange happening some time into our stay. We were having dinner at Café Solaris. The bald waiter seemed to have an issue with me ordering a second glass of wine. We were leaving from our meal and he sloppily poured me a third glass of wine. After that, one night he refused to wait on me when I went to the restaurant by myself. He really went out of his way to not wait on me. I asked the hostess for a glass of wine. She brought it to me. As I was leaving, I passed the head waiter who was talking to the hostess in front of the restaurant and he started yelling at me in Spanish. Another time I was being seated and the bald waiter was yelling to the hostess about me in Spanish. I’ve never been treated like that in my life. It was like being bullied back in grade school. Pretty pathetic and insulting! I do have to say that the breakfast staff were excellent!!! Jaimie, Martha, Olivia, Corina, and Calixto were always warm and friendly and willing to get you whatever you needed. They were the best part of our stay!!!

The food was only okay. The pool cafeteria felt like high-school quality food. The bathroom floor tile was old and not that clean. The staff was attentive, but at times no where to be found. (Low season)

The pool area is nice. The gym is decent. Could use more lifting equipment. I was there in the low season, in high would get crowded. The breakfast buffet was my favorite by far!

Staff weren’t very attentive. Arrived to the pool bar waited and 3 employees were there just chatting giving zero attention to us until I called them for a drink. No communication what so ever Every employee felt new they didn’t know what time anything started or where was it located Drinks were horrible. Not worth the money we spend Ac would turn off on its own. Only one day don restaurant was open pretty stupid if you ask me. Snack place by the pool food was not good fly’s were flying in and out and cook didn’t fight them off.

Pools & the creamy tomato soup at the Italian restaurant . Servers in the restaurant were the best! Thankfully only one man attended me that whole time I was there he was amazing!

The remodel was happening as we arrived and is going to be beautiful, but the service has gone down tremendously. They do not have enough wait staff in pool areas at all. We paid for all-inclusive and had to get our own drinks 80% of the time, even at the outdoor/buffet restaurant? We stayed here before in 2022, and the service was excellent. We did report it a few times to the front desk, but nothing was done to our knowledge, and we stayed a full week. We were very disappointed as we invited a couple to travel with us to this location. Also, for the restaurants, you have to book everything online, but you can't start till the day you check in.. Unfortunately, we were unable to book anything until the third day because it was all booked?!... So we were stuck with a buffet , which was just okay and again our wait staff was not even keeping up with our drinks that are served in small a 5-6 oz glass. We ended up going out for dinner which was more money after we paid for all-inclusive. We also were on the 4th floor, and the elevator was broken the entire time we were there and were told it would be fixed that day... well, never was, so we took the stairs the entire stay! We reported all this, and again, they said there was nothing they could do. They did offer an ocean view room, in the top floor 2 days before we were slated to leave, which would have been extra stairs. It wasn't even worth packing all our belongings to move. Again, we don't like to give bad reviews, but we need to share true reviews so others are aware.

The location and view were about the only good thing about this hotel, though it's not a swimmable beach.

Overall disappointed with my stay for several reasons. The biggest issue is the food: it lacked variety, felt repetitive (it is ALWAYS the same) even for a short stay, and often didn’t seem fresh. The restaurant itself was uncomfortably warm and not particularly clean, which made meals far from enjoyable. There are also works taking place in the lobby and bar areas during my visit. This was not communicated in advance and created a poor first impression. Service was another concern. The hotel seemed understaffed, leading to long waiting times, and the staff appeared overwhelmed, often juggling multiple responsibilities at once. However, big shoutout to the current staff who is very kind and helpful. Lastly, the room clearly needed refurbishment, with noticeable signs of oldness that didn’t align with the standards I associate with this brand. I wouldn’t necessarily discourage others from staying here if expectations are modest, but personally, I expected more.

The location is convenient, which made getting around fairly easy. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. The gardens and pools are nicely maintained and provide a pleasant atmosphere.

Just going to rattle them off here… Very little warm water if you got any at all. Broken tile/cement everywhere. Many facilities/restaurants closed due to construction without prior notification. Their app is pretty terrible to use. Constant push to attend timeshare preview. If you aren’t a member/owner of timeshare, you can’t use some facilities at all. Some good food, but mostly just ok or unappetizing. Pool full of black algae floating around. Bartenders who drink all day and play favoritism to customers. You can’t get bottled water outside of ordering them and arriving later to your room even when you ask the bar or front desk if they have any. Constantly low or out of the canned beer we wanted to drink. Mold in the reusable cups they give you for your drinks. Allowing other guests to absolutely BLAST their disruptive music at the pool (note that we bring our own small speaker and play just loud enough for us to hear in our chairs). Honestly we don’t know how anyone gave this place good reviews at all.

It has a large swim up bar and adults only infinity pool. Very attentive and friendly waiters and cleaning staff. Hot jacuzzi.
