Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesDreams Sapphire was clearly trying to be accommodating toward guests with food allergies by labeling menus and buffets with dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegetarian icons. However, on multiple occasions at multiple restaurants, these labels were WRONG (confirmed by double checking with the staff). It's like they tried, but only half-way, which is almost worse than not trying at all because it gives a false sense of safety. Sometimes it was obvious when the label was wrong because a dish would have a "dairy-free" icon but mention butter in the list of ingredients, for example. But in general, this created a situation that was not only challenging, because the labels couldn't be trusted, but could be extremely DANGEROUS for a guest with severe allergies. This is a liability for the hotel and a lawsuit waiting to happen. I would strongly encourage DREAMS sapphire to take a close look at their menu items and labels and ensure that their allergen markings are a firm guarantee so that guests can enjoy the food without concern for their safety. The only other complaint is that not a single pool was open past 7pm, even the adults-only pools. We found this surprising and disappointing. It would be nice for at least one pool to be open late for the adults, especially when babysitting is an available option for a fee.
The staff was wonderful and really accommodating. The rooms were also incredible! We stayed at the new Indigo property in the king beachfront suits, and those rooms were spacious, accessible by elevator for mobility-limited guests, and right on the water with large balconies (with a hot tub!). They were also extremely clean (no complaints were heard even from the most particular guests in our group!). Highly recommend the Indigo property and the resort as a whole. We had a great trip!

SwitzerlandToo many people, impossible to find a free sunbed, beach towels unavailable on several occasions. Too long check-in and check-out queus and getting suitcases to/from the room. Early check-in was confirmed through booking.com but upon arrival was not granted which was very frustrating.
Facilities for children, including the pool and play area around it were great.

United StatesThe restaurants were hot and cold. The food quality and taste was really not there. The Japanese restaurant and the Italian place were really bad. Sorry that is a management issue in food control. The pool area and the pool could be a bit cleaner. Room service was great even they forgot to refill coffee or sugar at times.
Location from the airport was perfect 20min short drive. Pool areas were very nice. Blue water restaurant was the best of all. The spa was world class. The food and service on the upper deck restaurant were amazing. The personal was super helpful and very nice.

United StatesEntertainment was lacking. Previous years it was engaging and fun. This year it seemed repetitive and lame. One of the resorts highlights was the entertainment staff, this yeat they missed the ball.
Overall it was great, pool amenities needs an urgent upgrade. Uncomfortable lounges, lack of cushion on 50% of lounges. They need to put cushions on all lounges to prevent 6am towel reservations and so everyone can enjoy the pool and the shades.

HungaryWe got a very noisy room (should be a problem only for building 8), there was a loud machine running day and night (in the resort next door). Some things were broken in the room (night table hanging from the wall, so that the drawer would just slide out in the middle of the night; toilet paper holder not fixed properly, fell off by the end of the week; some of the lights were flashing). The restaurants served the same quality food as the buffet, with an hour of additional waiting time. At 6:30 there are no free chairs by the pool anymore. Depending on wind/current there might be a LOT of seaweed on the beach.
The staff is friendly and competent. The sandy beach & the beach bar are great. Food in the buffet is good. The room is clean and spacious. The garden is lush and full of animals as a jungle (in a good way). Lots of different activities for kids.

CanadaThe spa was one of the worst experience I’ve ever had. I booked a 50 minute session for Vitamin C and it was done in 30-35 mins with barely any massage and limited communication. She seemed rushed and tired towards the end of day.also the beach had so much of sargassum that it was plain disgusting. Not swimmable and not the beautiful turquoise colour you expect to see when vacationing in the Caribbean
It’s sprawling. A lot of amenities but dated. Loved the stand alone health bar so ended up having smoothies everyday. The selection of food at the buffet is limited.

United StatesDated - preferred club didn’t have any benefit
Third stay at a Dreams Resort. This one had the best food we have had at a Dreams Resort. We always consider the food to be good but not very good. This one actually had some very good meals. The only thing we really saw wrong was just that it’s a bit dated. We also didn’t like that the Preferred didn’t offer any benefit whatsoever over the standard rate. No butler, no separate dining area, no reserved seats…. Nothing. We stayed on a great deal on Booking.com and if we scored another great deal like we received we would do it again. But wouldn’t pay more than $2.5-3k a week for a family of 4.

United StatesDreams Sapphire was a great option for us with an infant. Pros: ocean views, tub on balcony. The Asian restaurant was delicious with sushi roll station. Generally kid friendly and restaurants were well equipped with high chairs. Overall food was above average for an all inclusive with good variety. The preferred rooms were spacious and the preferred lounge was a plus. Cons: the chair hogging is the worst I’ve seen at a resort. By 7 am, all the chairs are taken. Either they need more chairs or they need to figure out a way to handle the demand. They were always out of pool towels. No reservations for restaurants so average wait was 90 minutes and then the service was super slow especially at Bordeaux (2 hrs with an infant). If you are breastfeeding and need refrigeration, don’t rely on the mini fridge it was barely cold and there’s no temp control. Overall we had a fantastic time but there could be things that can be improved! I don’t necessarily feel like I need to return. I’d be interested in trying a different Dreams in the area.

United StatesPool may be a little small for the amount of people staying at the resort. I had to get up while it was still dark out 6am to claim chairs by the pool for me and my family. This may be because it was windy for a few days and maybe people didn’t want to sit on the beach. After three days we asked for new towels, we put the dirty ones in the floor which were taken but then they left us with no towels, hand towels or wash cloths. I was on a third floor room jungle view building 9. We were really close to an electric transformer or some kind of machine that was loud with the balcony door open. Our family members had two rooms on the first floor building 9 and there was a slight sewer smell in their rooms. Building 9 is also the farthest building from the resort.
The property was very clean and the staff were always cleaning up around the property. The location was great…not far from the airport and close to the little town of Puerto Morelos. Public restrooms were very clean. Staff was attentive. Drinks were served quickly around the pool area. Taco cart every night near the main bar was really good. The guest hosts are really good at getting people involved in games and activities and are super friendly and really fun.
