Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Germanyf you’re traveling to Yucatán, you absolutely have to visit Elisa and Guillaume’s stunning boutique hotel. Nestled in the heart of nature, their place feels like it was gently woven into the jungle itself—peaceful, lush, and full of life. Every corner of the hotel reflects their thoughtful approach to design: beautifully curated spaces, built with sustainable materials and intelligent room concepts that blend comfort with purpose. It’s the kind of place where you wake up with the sounds of birds in the trees. Elisa and Guillaume are the kind of hosts who make your stay unforgettable. Warm, welcoming, and deeply passionate about what they do, they make you feel at home and help you to find authentic places of Yucatán.

CanadaAbsolutely nothing - it was perfect!
I can’t say enough good things about our time at Galopina! It is an absolutely gorgeous place, perfect for nature lovers and those looking to relax and forget about time. We stayed four nights and I would suggest nothing less. We loved exploring the trails around the property, birdwatching, and our day trip to the cenotes (especially Noh-Mozon). Elisa are Guillaume are such generous and warm hosts and you can tell they really care about their guests. The sincere kindness of everyone at Galopina made us feel so welcome. Delicious food, beautiful architecture, and an abundance of local birds easily made this one of the best places we have ever stayed.

United StatesNot a downside for me but if you want to explore the area, it is pretty remote so you will need car or expect to shell out some $$$ for taxis that the hotel kindly arranges.
I had seen so many positive reviews of this property and booked based on those reviews but being in person exceeded my expectations. From the moment you walk into the main building to the moment you unpack in your suite, you discover all of the fantastic design details that set this hotel apart from so many others. It is a gorgeous property and the ceilings in the suites are surprisingly high, making the room feel more spacious. With such friendly service, a wonderful daily breakfast and the unique, evolving three course dinner menu you are served, you feel like you're at someone's home given how few other guests there are. Pro trip: get up at sunrise as the symphony of bird songs is truly magical. There are dozens of birds on the property, most of which you don't see but you can definitely hear them.

The atmosphere the owners have created at Galopina is absolutely gorgeous. Everything - starting from the stunning architecture and lighting to the choice of music contributed to a truly relaxing experience. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, the lush greenery adds to the beauty of the surroundings, and the remote location made for an unforgettable stay. Definitley recommend staying here if you're looking for a peaceful oasis near Merida.

CanadaThe room and view were excellent, with an incredible view of the stars at night, the bed was comfortable, the food was delicious, and all staff were very friendly. I really appreciated the fact that they set up a taxi service to and from the hotel for me, as well as a tour to the nearby Hacienda. And the best part is the three little puppies who live there!

TaiwanA must, you need a car or spend a lot taxi fare here. For me, it is 400peso from Merida center by InDrive App.
A minimalist, stylish, and charming ochre-colored poolside building with just five exquisite rooms, offering exceptional bath products. Nestled in the untouched jungles of the Yucatán Peninsula, it provides a serene escape from the hustle and bustle, bringing you closer to nature. The hosts, Guillaume and Elisa, exude intellectual warmth and keen observation, creating a welcoming atmosphere that feels both luxurious and homely. The delightful presence of dogs, cats, and children leaves a lasting impression.

From the butterflies greeting us at the driveway to the adorable dogs and cats following almost every of our steps, staying here made us feel like we were in our own little movie. It's so peaceful and the way we've been treated and this place really made us feel at home. The food was absolutely amazing and the chocolatecake and the margeritas were some of the best we've ever had. We really hope to return some day and we'll come back to Germany very relaxed and full of inspiration.

BelgiumMaybe one small thing, it is kind of located in the middle of nowhere. Which was great for us, but if you plan on visiting something, be aware that it is quite remote.
We had a perfect stay at Galopina. Wonderful hosts and their place is so beautiful. The dinner and breakfast was homemade and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place if you are traveling through the Yucatan Peninsula.

GermanyGalopina was a little paradise on earth for us. Travelling from busy Merida, we instantly felt at peace. Gorgeous design and architecture, lots of attention to detail, beautiful flora and fauna and such welcoming and kind staff. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. We would come back next week in a heartbeat if our home countries weren't so far away ♥️ (we also absolutely recommend getting up at sunrise for a little bit of yoga and hearing an orchestra of bird sounds to start the day)

United StatesCan't think of anything; wish I could've stayed longer! I will say that it's pretty remote and you probably need to rent a car, but the quality of the experience means you probably won't feel like venturing far.
What a wonderful place to unwind! It's nestled in a very unique ecosystem that is a dry, deciduous forest for part of the year and a rainforest the other part of the year. The nature on and around the property is beautiful, a tremendous spot to birdwatch. The architecture is stylish and thoughtful and works well with the natural beauty. The rooms are spacious, and you have access to basically the whole grounds, a lovely soaking pool and a very chic parlor. With so much variety, it will feel like you have an entire estate to yourself. The hosts / builders really went deep into the details to create an ambiance you can relax into, and if you care about this kind of thing, the build quality is commendable. They are perfectionists. The food was also really tasty, as other commenters have noted. I usually travel at least 75% for the food, but it was good enough for us to not feel the need to use up valuable time trekking out to Merida for dinner. It's right in that sweet spot between refined dining and soulful home cooking. The cocktails were also excellent. The location is a bit rural, but that's part of the charm. Nearby, there are many cenotes to check out, and because it's not close to Cancun/Tulum, the cenotes are clean, and you can be the only one there, even during peak season. Just know that some of the roads are quite rough once you get off of the ones maintained by the state park.

United StatesThis hotel is one of a kind. We spent a few days in Merida with friends, then drove out to Galopina to experience the jungle and we had no idea how much we needed this space. We spent three wonderful nights at Galopina, enjoying the beautiful property. The intimate, four-room space felt perfectly curated - we loved the balcony of our room that sat above the jungle canopy, and we passed time with friends drinking cocktails, sharing meals (some of our favorites during our whole stay in the Yucatán!), wandering the property and petting the sweet dogs and cats. If you’re searching for a design-forward, restorative escape, this is the one place you should plan your trip around. Many thanks to our incredible hosts, we’ll be dreaming of this place for years to come and we hope to return soon!
