Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumI cannot think of anything that I did not like about our stay.
Fantastic secluded locale minutes away from Chichén Itzá and the Ik Kil cenote; the hacienda style lodging offers individualized personal space away from other clients. The pool is an excellent amenity that is open late into the evening that allows for a dark evening swim under the palm trees and the stars. Service staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The hotel cuisine is top notch with a solid quality/quantity/price ratio. Highly recommended if a visit to Chichén Itzá on your own time and dime is in your plans.

United KingdomReception staff were very helpful with info and help arranging a tour guide for Chichén Itzá. Food was delicious - great choices and good portion sizes. Grounds were amazing and rooms were comfortable. Location was very convenient to visit Chichen Itza.

United KingdomThis was like stepping back in time to an old Hacienda. The pool, gardens and rooms were excellent. Also great food as well. Very very close to Chichen Itza which made this ruin magical.

United KingdomIt’s expensive, especially the food. We spent more on food here than in any other part of our trip.
The location right next to Chichen Itza was great for our one nights stay. We loved the jungle surroundings and the pool was amazing - and hardly used. The rooms were comfortable and had all we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend the early morning bird walk - fascinating.

United KingdomVery small point re: thought it was overkill to need to ask and sign deposit for very basic beach towels which wasn’t in keeping with the classy upmarket vibe of the rest of the hotel or hotels of its kind.
The property is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. It is so close to Chichén Itzá and the Cenotes. It made the whole day so easy and enjoyable. The food is excellent, some of the best food we had. Do the birdwatching tour on the grounds! We saw toucans, parrots, falcons, hummingbirds and the guide is so lovely.

United StatesWater pressure was weak. I had a lingering fear that a coconut would fall and crush on my head 🤣 those palm trees are really high Lol
Kind of old school but in the best way. Amazing tropical gardens. Not brand new but very well maintained, clean and comfortable. 5 minutes from the archeological sites and a beautiful cenote. Food and service at the restaurant was excellent.

United KingdomFood was a bit limited in choice and not commensurate with the overall standard. Better food to be had in other areas of Mexico and Yucatán
Beautifully situated in mature grounds; lots of birds to be seen. Very close to the archeological site. Room was comfortable and well equipped.

United StatesNeed charging points next to each bed. Room is somewhat dated.
Beautiful and extensive grounds! Very quiet and peaceful. Lovely clean pool. Excellent location for birding as property adjoins an area of Chitchen Itza that us not open to public. Restaurant is good for Yucatan and best in area (wine options are very poor and expensive for poor quality).

United StatesThe lighting in the room was OK, but not good enough for reading, especially in bed. The staff did provide an extra desk lamp to put on the night stand. The furniture was visually nice, but not particularly functional. The drawer in the night stand on my wife's side of the bed would fall out if you pulled it out far enough to put things in or take things out. The room also needed another chair, as there was only one and there was nowhere else to sit except the bed or window ledges.
The room was spacious, and the grounds and facilities well maintained; the pool was pristine and only lightly treated or ozonated. Although we were staying for three nights and wanted to charge meals to our room, it took the staff a day and a half to stop bringing us the credit card terminal to pay for our meals. Excellent habitat for birding on the grounds, and good proximity to Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. The meals from the kitchen were well prepared and beautifully presented.

United StatesDraconian approach to bringing any form of food or drink int other room. Not even a bottle of water or soft drinks. Advertised spa doesn't really exist, there is a price list but it is extremely expensive, $270US for a 1 hour massage.
Smooth check in process, friendly staff and great restaurant. Room was comfortable and very clean, shower was great. It's only a short drive to Chichen Itza, thought the hotel might have had a shuttle but doesn't. Swimming pool is well maintained and and clean.

United StatesThis is a historic place, so some of the amenities are not up to the level of a resort. For example, the beds were are comfortable, but they are not heavenly. There is climate control in the rooms, but it’s not air conditioning like we know it in the United States. But the location, which is just a stones throw from Chichenitza, and the beauty of the grounds, plus the feeling of being back in time more than makes up for some of the smaller inconveniences. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back
The grounds are gorgeous and the pool is very nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our rooms were very large and comfortable.
