Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaI was satisfied with the modest breakfast that was included in the price. Some fruits, two slices of toast and either butter or jam to go with it. Coffee was drinkable but watery and kind of let down. I tried some egg dishes from the menu to supplement my menu, but they were disappointing and decided to get my food from nearby hotels instead. Same went for the drinks. 200$ for a 3 cl shot of cheap mescal felt like a rip off. My hindsight tip: Improve the tomato sauce recipe and be a bit more generous with the pours so I'd certainly spend more money on the beach bar.
I appreciated the semi- secluded, peaceful location where you could easily embark on a peaceful morning stroll toward the Punta Mosquito. I had nothing to complain about my room. Good ac, ok bed, small fridge that did its job.

BelgiumIf you book the Cabo caboche tour, ask if you will be able to do snorkeling as sometimes it is not possible and the companies don't communicate about it.
We had a lovely stay at Villas Tiburon. The hotel has a beautiful jungle feel with a lot of nice details. Karina from the reception made us feel very welcome. We also did the 3 islands tours. It was very nice.

SwitzerlandThe hotel complex is a bit older, and the rooms are somewhat dated.
The rooms are very spacious and the beds are comfortable. The location, slightly outside the center, is not a problem. The beach is beautiful and clean. The hotel grounds, with many plants, are very nice. Breakfast was a bit basic at first, with only toast and fruit for the first few days. On the day of departure, we were able to order an additional breakfast item at no extra charge.

SpainThe breakfast is very simple, including just some fruits, a toast with butter or jam, a coffee and a juice.
The location is great, one of the last hotels of that side of the island. You can walk through the sand banks to Punta Mosquito, which is a top destination of many day tours. The room itself was good, with direct sea views. The food in the restaurant is not great, but the rooftop bar is very nice. The staff at the reception were very helpful.

LithuaniaSeems that hotel needs to be reconstructed and renewed. Booking.com marked that it has 4*, but for real - only 3*. Breakfast were really poor: only fruit plate and two peaces of toast. We had to order additinally omletes or something else. Location is nice if you want calm environment, but a bit far away from the city center - 20-25 min to walk. And for our personal opinion, rooftop pool DJ was too loud and the music did not matched to the environment :)
Hotel is in the first line on the beach. That is super comfortable to access it. Also rooms are spacious and was comfortable for us with two kids. Staff was friendly and put a lot of efforts to solve some issues with hot water. Hotel has two pools, but we actually prefered the sea and beach.

NetherlandsThe included breakfast is just a few pieces of fruit and coffee, so we had to order extra items each day because it was too small. We saw that with basically everybody. Holbox in general is super overpriced.

CanadaThe beds were not that comfortable.
The hotel is right on the beach! It’s a very nice location - a 15-20 minutes walk to the centre. The staff are all very nice. There is a light continental breakfast included (bread, jam and fruits). The view from the rooftop bar is really nice. Our room was nice and spacious.

GermanyThe only space in the beach is already used by the beds from the accommodation. In the pictures it seems larger. Not a complain but the access to our room wasn't the easiest and as it was an attic so part of the room was hardly accessible because the roof was low. If you can book a room not in the attic.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is very chill, farther from the center, but still waking distance (15 min). The pool in the Alma bar is very nice with a great view specially of the sunset.

United StatesI loved the property itself but didn't love my specific room. The shower was bad and had a makeshift shower curtain. But we didn't mind or ask staff to switch us, not a deal breaker to us for the price we paid as we didn't spend time in the room. The rooftop pool was also so dirty, I would've liked to use it if it were clean. But we didn't mind that too much since you're right on the beach, we spent the whole time in the water there anyway :)
The property itself was beautiful and the landscaping throughout was very lush and jungle-y vibe. The structure is unique and makes you feel like you're in a treehouse. For a small hotel, there were a surprising amount of nice common area places to lounge, and beach chairs/hammocks. The upper rooftop area is such a cool viewpoint to watch the sunset (although use caution). It was a bit removed from town which we actually loved because the beach was WAY nicer and barely crowded at all, compared to the beach area close to town. The staff was really nice and chill. Free water jugs around the hotel to fill your bottle was appreciated! I'd recommend renting bikes, as it would take long to walk into town. Overall, if you're a chill person who just wants to relax and soak up the gorgeous Holbox island, you'll love it here and it's a good deal with good staff and atmosphere. If you're nitpicky about your room or will be inconvenienced by walking or biking, you should probably look elsewhere.
