Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe would have loved to be able to have coffee available a little earlier but that was a small issue. The floors were slippery when wet, especially the shower. We threw a face towel to stand on for security.
The staff was amazing. They were so patient with all my questions. Breakfast was delicious. We did use the hot tub a couple of times and that was great! Beautiful courtyard and the ac unit worked perfectly

United Kingdomit’s something small-you have to request for the room to be cleaned. it’s 30+degrees Celsius in Oaxaca and you can’t flush the toilet paper. we are all for sustainability but this did not seem hygienic in regards to the bins. just note that you NEED to request it. even on a 4 night stay.
very cool decor. nice breakfast. nice ambience. jacuzzi was fun too. the beds do pillows were super comfortable! a/c was fantastic too

United StatesThe entire check in process was awful. I made the booking last minute, and upon arrival, I had to check-in through a website in order to receive the key code to enter the main door. It took 45 minutes from submitting the required info for my info to be processed on the back end. There was no other way to enter the hotel without receiving the key code. And the communication was super unclear. When we called customer service, the agent was incredibly short, bordering rude. In addition, the room door was super insecure. It also required a code to unlock the door, but you could simply push the door with a small bit of force and it'd open. It was the same with the closet door inside the room, which had a separate lock. We felt that we were unsafe and our things were not secure during our stay.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was beautifully designed and spacious.

ItalySlight communication issue upon arrival (our fault, we flew in earlier than expected) - check-in is all electronic, so we had to wait a little to be able to access the hotel. However, the staff was very helpful, offered us juice and coffee while we were waiting for our room access.
Loved the decor. The inside courtyard was stunning. Bathroom was spacious and beds really comfortable.

MexicoOn the day of our departure, the hot water for some reason went out and one of us had to shower with cold water. Disclaimer: tourists must know about the region's water scarcity.
The location was central, aesthetic, and within walkable distance of the main touristic spots in Oaxaca de Juaréz.

United StatesBeautiful boutique hotel the room was gorgeous. We walked in with our code that was sent security greeted us made sure we got into our room. Great location walking distance to everything four blocks from Santo Domingo plaza. There’s a cute lil market across the street for drinks or snacks. Also the bakery across the street is delicious. The whole hotel was spotless so clean staff was always cleaning and friendly. The free breakfast was delicious in the morning. I would stay at Holt again.

United KingdomHidden gem in the hear of the city. Excellent, must-to-stay there boutique hotel. Beautiful courtyard, fresh refurbished rooms, and huge, a la 5 star hotel bathroom is a firm mark of this place. Very good breakfast, with excellent display, a huge variety of available food, and a proper table setting. We will go back to this hotel.

United StatesPlease be aware that when you arrive you need a number to enter. When you’re traveling all day and low availability for internet the last thing you expect is to need a code to come in because the door is locked and nobody answers when u knock or greets u. Basically a high end hostel. The unlocking door device needs to be powered on to enter the code. No guest service is available only a “security person” and no “lobby”. When we arrived (Friday night)we let the “security person” person the air conditioning was not properly working. They said they would have someone check on it. Nobody came by. The following morning we alerted the cleaning staff about the air conditioning not properly working. They let us know that we should message the hotel service application because the guest two days prior than us have alerted them about the air conditioner not working but it was not fixed. I messaged the property by the application. They stated they would not have the air conditioner fixed until Monday. We went through 3 nights with no air conditioning rooms are extremely stuffy since no airflow is available other than a non functioning air conditioner. Monday we left early for an excursion and arrived about 4:00 pm. We entered expecting a cool room. We entered to a hot, humid, muggy room, closed room. No message from the hotel service as to the maintenance or even an update as to the air conditioner, basically the worst night since it was a very hot day. I messaged them again only to be answered un professionally and bothered indicating the air conditioner was not fixed since they were unable to get someone to check the issue. Day four without an air conditioner at one point the air conditioner completely shut down. Tuesday we were out all day, this time the hotel finally had someone come and fix the issue. It’s very unprofessional and in poor taste to claim an air conditioner is available and not have it in a working state with guests coming in.
Nothing!

GermanyAccording to their offer on Booking.com, we were promised a room (studio) of 53m². What we got was a room of roughly 20m² (a rough estimation, I didn't bring a tape measure on vacation). In the room description on Booking, they wrote, and I quote, "This studio features a hot tub". This is untrue. The jacuzzi, the kitchen and the seating area that they list under "room amenities" are not part of the "studio", rather all part of the shared area. When we contacted HOLT we simply received a message where they described the shared area plus that m² should have been square feet. That would have made our room about 4.93m² ;-) So that doesn't work out either! There was no "we are sorry" and no deduction of our rental fee, which we had requested via booking.com.What bothers me most is, they have not even had the grace to adjust their booking.com description yet. Oh well, that is not entirely true. The room size has now been adjusted to 44m²....which is still not the real size. So be aware that what you expect is not what you will get!
The room and the entire building are clean and nicely decorated! The staff is super friendly and the breakfast delicious. Nothing to complain about here!

TaiwanThis is an unsafe property. We were booked for four nights. Firstly they gave us a wrong door code. When we called, they gave us additional codes that also didn’t work. Finally, one code worked. This code should open the front door and only our room. Instead, it opened all of the rooms because it was the master code!! We know this because we accidentally opened the wrong room and it had other people’s belongings inside. This is a clear security breach. How can you give ANY guest the master code? The customer service was also unhelpful and bordering on abusive.

United StatesThe only thing I didn’t love were all the long, emoji filled messages I received from the hotel before, during, and after the stay. But at least they were communicative and easy to reach.
The hotel was cute, clean, quiet, comfortable, and in an excellent location. Also, hats off to whoever makes the food for the complimentary breakfast, to say it exceeded our expectations is an understatement. Overall, a great experience!

United KingdomWe had a couple of issues with the access codes, but these were resolved very quickly thanks to responsive staff members.
Lovely building in an excellent location. It was nice and quiet, and the room was a good size with comfortable beds and air con. The shower was wonderful! We loved the breakfast, and the daily juice/snack was a nice touch. It was also really helpful having the lockers there so that we had somewhere safe to store our large bags ahead of check-in and after checkout.

United StatesI and my friends were looking for a place to stay in Oaxaca, and luckily we ran into HOLT's hotel. I'm all about interior design, and I cannot stress enough how beautiful this place is. It's the perfect combination of luxury and culture. The courtyard really takes you back in time with its beautiful touches. The hot tub located in the courtyard is very spacious and everybody in our group had a great time there. The HOLT team was very responsive and professional, they helped us with transportation arrangements from and to the airport and provided many recommendations on things to do while in Oaxaca. Our entire trip was very smooth thanks to them. I hope I can come back soon!
