Everything! This was my first trip to not only Guadalajara but Mexico in general and I could not have asked for a better experience! Karina is incredibly helpful and accommodating and made me feel at home here from the first day :) Apparently Zalaoui, is a Náhuatl word for "rest" which was perfect for me as I travelled to Mexico for an elective surgery and above all needed a clean and quiet place to rest and recover. Even the nurse who came to check up on me commented on how central yet quiet the hostel was. My room and bathroom was clean and comfortable. Shower had plenty of hot and cold water with good pressure, and the internet was very fast. The location is perfect - there's countless attractions all within walking distance. I especially loved the delicious quesadilla place right next door and the absolutely beautiful church and plaza Expiatorio, less than a 3 minute walk away! Karina is truly an amazing host, from her delicious homemade fruit juices, to her endless patience and spanish lessons with me as I kept trying to practice 😅🙏

Nothing. This place is truly a gem! 💎

It's a cosy place in the center Zona Americana. Everything I needed is in walking distance (at lest for a German :) ) Karina is the soul of the place. She makes your stay very comfortable and helps you with every request you have. The WiFi is super fast (120/120 Mbit up/down). You can use the well equipped kitchen and have storage place in the big fridge. Next time when I'm in Guadalajara, this is my stay.

There was nothing I could complain about. Sorry.

Excellent location, walking distance to the main square, metro stations and Avenida Chapultepec. Full kitchen facilities, tea and coffee. Breakfast provided, though I didn't partake as I prefer to make my own. Karina is lovely and welcoming and has lots of tips for what to do in Guadalajara. It's simple, but for the price it's hard to complain.

The heat and lack of ventilation. The bedroom windows don't open and it never really cools down. I was there in June, it was 35C, slept on top of the sheets with the door open. Probably fine Sep-Apr though. The room and the bed are very small. Okay for me as a solo traveller with basically no luggage, but if you're a couple with suitcases it might not be ideal.

Totally and utterly amazing lady who runs this hostel/guesthouse. I've been travelling for almost a year now and I've never had such hospitality. She is lovely. The home is just amazing. Honestly for the price this is a lovely stay. I only stayed 3 nights but would have happily stayed a week or more. The decorations and the paintings are amazing. It's quirky, old, but I slept very well. Fresh coffee and breakfast in the morning.

Homely, clean and comfortable property. Amazing staff. Great location and value for money. Cute and quirky vintage style place, really felt like we were staying at someone’s house

The shower head needs replacing and the room needs more ventilation, it was quite hot in there
