The person working when we checked in - unsure of their name - left a cut lime out on the bar overnight and when we headed out for Chichen Itza the next morning there was flies all over it so I hope it was thrown away!

Nice common area! Lovely volunteers - especially Xioffa! She made a beautiful breakfast for us! And another volunteer I don’t think I got her name! Danielle I think? She was very helpful and sorted us out with remote control for the aircon - as ours had no batteries - which made it much easier to sleep on night 2!

The bathrooms could be a bit cleaner and the water pressure is kind of weak. The stay included free breakfast so we expected this - however on our first morning one of the volunteers said we had to cook our own. She just gave us the pancake mix and an egg, plus m&ms and chocolate sauce. Nothing to measure with, no instructions, and not even any fruit to go with it. On our last day she cooked it for us but we only got two pancakes each and 4 little slices of banana.

Overall this was a great hostel. The staff and volunteers were really welcoming and friendly, and it has a good vibe with chill music, lots of space to relax outside (including hammocks), and an outdoor kitchen. The beds are really comfortable and have curtains, and the rooms have amazing air conditioning which is essential in the summer. It was also in a good location, less than a 10 minute walk to the main square. It also has a laundry on site and a washing line to hang wet togs etc.

The cleanliness in the bathroom, that is for a large number of people could be improved. The swimming pool is quite small, but has we didn't have time to use it, it wasn't a big issue.

The owner and staff were really nice. It had a cozy place to relax in the common area. The pancakes for breakfast were amazing ! The bedding was not the comfiest but a very good price/quality ratio, would recommend !

There was no water in one early morning so it was inconvenient for early-risers. The reception is located next to the female room so it was noisy sometimes.

Free breakfast included in the price is a real bonus. The staff are very friendly even though they dont speak much English.

Only thing that was a bit off was one of the nights we were woken up at about 2 am with loud music etc. I had a look out at the bar area and there were a good few people must have come back from their night out but I only recognised like 2 people from our hostel, it was as if due to the place having a bar a lot of outside people came back to party longer. Was a bit annoying and a bit weird having a group of outside people back? Not sure if it’s jut myself who feels this way, I don’t really mind the loud music or lateness this comes with staying on a hostel but just the random people

Sometimes the toilets were not flushing all the way but it really wasn’t that big of a problem. You just need to wait a bit longer.

Hostel Guacasmayas really felt like home. It is such a cute place and the vibe is really good. We were informed at check-in that a renovation was going on but it really wasnt a problem. After the workers were gone, everything was left clean everyday. The hostel also has bikes and scooters for rent at a fair price which was the perfect way to explore Valladolid and the cenotes. The owner of the hostel is really friendly and has tons of advice for nice restaurants and places to visit. I met so many great people during my stay, I would recommend it to everyone.

Loved my stay here. The facilities are outdated by still met my needs. Cleanness (especially the bathrooms) needs some improving. Would've prefered Mexican breakfast but understand that most guests like fruit and pancakes. Wilo and his staff do a great job in balancing out all property shortcomings with their friendliness, local tips and efficiency.

There are not too many options to charge your phone in the rooms

Good location, 5min from the Cenote and city center, 10min from the Ado bus station. Nice pan cakes for breakfast and a lovely chill area. They have bicis and motos for rent.

There were footprints on my bed sheets, the water pressure in the shower was very weak, music was played very early by the staff, room needs a good clean and an update

Definitely could have a refurb as it’s abit run down. Lockers didn’t lock and they told us it’s ok as it’s safe here(no locked doors/no keys) Kind of clean kind of not… Shower pressure was AWFUL. The wifi only worked sometimes. The staff would come and sit in the room to use the AC which was a bit invasive, especially one member just lying across the bed when we came back.

Small, rustic and familiar hostel with a warm and detailed staff. That made the environment very comfortable. Not luxurious at all, but extremely clean. It definitely has everything for a calm stay. Moreover, they have a professional laundry that works amazingly and scooter and bike rentals to move freely around the city for a reasonable price.

Dunkles lautes Zimmer direkt an belebter Straße. Schließfach wurde 3 Tage nicht bereit gestellt...Besitzer ist Bordell Betreiber Mir wurde ein ungewarteter Roller verliehen, bei dem nach 1 Stunde der Keilriemen riss. Der Besitzer bedrohte mich körperlich als auch mit der Polizei, beleidigte mich und warf mich zum späten Abend aus dem hostel anstatt mich zu entschädigen. Viel Drogen Verkehr im Hostel
