This is personal: I have a knee injury and the access to and from the property was challenging for me. All of Tepoztlan is hilly and stony, but at this location I was scared of falling while going down some of the hills to town, and coming back uphill, after dark especially. I booked for 4 nights but the hosts kindly understood my needs and allowed me to cancel the last 2 nights. In general, I think certain details should be mentioned by booking.com when describing properties.

The hosts and staff were welcoming, kind, and helpful. It was quiet and comfortable.

Sadly, when I stayed at the hostel there were some nights in the dorm where there were individuals snoring and there were other nights where really smelly people arrived. The hostal has no control over this but yeah, this is tough. Also the Hostal is located far up on a hill so its challenging to walk up if you have heavy bags

The staff at Maria Tepozteca are very kind, warm and inviting people. I am vegan and the breakfast that the prepare is not typically a vegan breakfast but they went out of their way to provide me with a meal that I could enjoy. For me, this is beyond amazing. The beds are comfy, the showers were hot.

Barking neighborhood dogs at night. Difficult to maintain a warm shower: too hot water, or cold.

Bring ear plugs. No fault of the property owners but the many stray dogs and housed dogs left out all night barked all night every night. Also, off in the distance were fireworks every night of my weekend stay. I did not have ear plugs so I did not sleep well although the bed was very comfortable.

It was an absolutely beautiful scenic location. The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. A good shower with plenty of hot water. I enjoyed sitting outside having coffee and feeling peaceful.

Very nice property with spacious and comfortable rooms! The shared kitchen had everything we needed and the hosts were extremely nice. Traditional Mexican breakfast was included, which was delicious and the internet was super fast. It’s a short walk to the town, but you have to go up hill. The views from the property are just beautiful..so it’s totally worth it!

I might suggest nets for mosquitos to be able to open the windows during the day. But Otherwise everything was perfect.

Loved my stay here! The space is beautiful and the location is in the quieter, more nature-y part of town :). Best of all the family that owns it is incredibly warm and kind, which makes the whole place feel homey. And breakfast was delicious!

Nothing to report - I went during the week so it was quite quiet with only two other guests.

I loved my stay here - mainly based on the super lovely staff, and a really cool setting. I got lots of tips and the breakfast was simple and delicious. I felt instantly relaxed coming from Mexico City. It was a comfy and spacious hostel room. I could use the washing machine for free.

To our surprise, Tepoztlan is a party town and loud music played nearby and throughout the town all Saturday night; this, of course, is not the hotels fault. Sunday night was very peaceful.

The breakfast was excellent, and the owners were very kind. The location was close to all attractions.

You can hear everything that happens in the corridor outside the room as if there was no door. Fortunately the other guests were usually not noisy, so it wasn't a big problem.

One may find it a problem that it is quite a far uphill walk to get to the hostel, but that keeps it quiet.

Not the properties’ fault at all, but at night the music from the town is pretty loud. If you’re a light sleeper, that could be an issue.

The house is close to the trail leading to the Archaeological zone and all the hustle and bustle. The staff is extremely friendly: my Spanish is very bad, but we still had a great talk with Juan. The breakfast was very good too. The room is cozy and clean, great water pressure in the shower and a cool-looking sink with cacti :)
