Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MaltaI loved my stay at Casa Cuyo, and was lucky enough to be the only guest! Carlos was kind and helpful even before I arrived, recommending the best SIM card to buy for the area. It was very clean, the pool is lovely, having a kitchen was a definite bonus. It's two blocks from the beach and about 10 minutes from the centre. Carlos also recommended a local guide, Jesús, I took two tours with him (kayaking and birdwatching tour) and cannot recommend them enough!!

It was quiet , clean and close to the beach. Comfy bed and hot shower. Carlos is a good gentle soul and will help you with whatever comes your way.. make your coffee etc in the kitchen which is quite complete .. Lovely areas to hang out and it’s about 5 minutes walk to the “centre” of town.

United KingdomThe mosquitos but that can’t be avoided! The room and communal space have mosquito nets on the windows.
Nice stay in El Cuyo. We only stayed a couple of nights but made use of the communal kitchen which is a nice space. The room is simple but had all we needed.

MexicoSpacious rooms with comfortable beds and en suite bathrooms. The shared kitchen and dining room was nice with good facilities, and the well kept garden by the pool was a nice place to relax, as was the terrace seating on the first floor. The beach was just 5 mins walk away, and the center of town 10 mins walk with lots of cafes and restaurants to tempt you on the way.

The hotel was clean, the room was large and the staff was very friendly. The location is perfect for walking either to the beach or into town.

United KingdomThe only inconvenience we had, which maybe it happened only during our stay and too be honest I am not sure if we have mentioned to reception (sorry!) was the poor wifi connection.
Casa Cuyo Hotel was more than I expected. It an oasis a bit further than the centre (8-10min roughly). However, I liked Exactly the far away from the busy area and very close to the beach. I enjoyed the coziness, the silence, the clean room, the space with wind down like the hammock outside of the room and the one in the courtyard. Also a lovely kitchen to be used by guests, if needed and a beautiful rooftop to see the sunset.

IrelandSpiders, mosquitos, and little lizards are expected in such location. Gap on the bottom of the door is big enough, something needs to be added to prevent them entering.
Owner was flexible with arrival/departure times. Nice location of the property.

United StatesNo fault of the hotel but very limited Internet and power outages are common in El Cuyo. This is definitely off the beaten track did you plan to go there.
Short walk to anywhere in El Cuyo: Beaches, restaurant, kite surfing lessons just ask the owners. Also have a kitchen on premises and you can store food and drinks. Also they have a built-in terrace for watching the sunset.

Loved everything about Casa Cuyo, super cute and chill vibes. Staff (Natalia <3) the best and it's a social environment easy to meet other guests. The room was so cute and had everything you need, the shared kitchen area and provided water all nice. It's a great location feels a bit secluded and in nature, but very close walk to everything perfectly between town and main kite spot.

CanadaOur stay was wonderful. We feel in love with Natalia, the beautiful receptionist. She was kind to everyone. We really enjoyed meeting many other people from around the world. Our children ages 3&7 love Casa Cuyo. We walked everywhere and the beach is only 1 min walk away. It was a wonderful experience for all of us.

United StatesWi-fi was not very good and did not work at all inside our room. The rooms back up to a couple of rental cabanas and unfortunately during the night we were there a couple was having a rather loud domestic dispute during the night, but hopefully that was not the norm. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay, and I would certainly choose this property again if visiting El Cuyo.
Very attractive and well-maintained property in a tranquil location just two blocks from the beach and an easy walk to the center of town. Plenty of places to eat close by. Away from the noise of the main road, surrounded by trees with lots of birds. Good communication from the hosts. Spacious and clean room, nicely decorated.

SwitzerlandIt's a very nice and lovely calm place, good to relax. Very friendly owner and stuff. I liked the option of the shared kitchen and having breakfast or lunch done by ourselves. A shop with fresh fruits and veggies, restaurants and a beach is located in few minutes walking distance. The owner helped us to organise a Birthday cake and make a surprise, all restaurants recommended by him were very good. I recommend it, not only for kitesurfers :)

Czech RepublicEverything was great.
We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is really clean (I consider myself quite demanding in this regard). The kitchen was well equipped. Just keep in mind that the local shops are not that well supplied, so better arrive with some essentials if you want to cook. The hotel is not directly at the beach, but I think it is really not necessary since it is super close anyway. This is a super calm spot that is a little remote. So yes there might be some power outages (we had 2 during our 5 days stay for 1-2 hours), but no problem at all. The garden chill zone is great.
