Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaNot the “fault” of the hotel: some spiders and mosquitoes are your neighbours and room buddies. The veranda isn’t child safe.
It’s a nice stay in the middle of the jungle for a few nights. Staff is so nice, it gives a good jungle experience and is close (car needed) to a lot of cenotes. Top up you breakfast with some eggs, it’s really worth it!

United StatesI wish there were more hiking trails, lookouts, etc. along the property. I love that it was in the jungle, but I had to do most of my birdwatching while standing in the middle of one of their roads. You can also only access WiFi from the Casa Club, not from the cottages that you sleep in.
The staff was wonderful! The food was delicious. Saw lots of exciting birds, despite it being mostly rainy while we were there. The Casa Club is a beautiful building.

United StatesIt was very warm and the fans struggled to keep up with the heat. Our hosts did bring larger fans in on our second night. I imagine when we visit again, we will try for cooler months like October and November.
Beautiful and tranquil place to stay. The wonderful owners will charm you to no end and will do almost anything to ensure you are comfortable. (Prime example: we casually mentioned we were headed to Puerto Morelos and they brought us a cooler and parasol, and had an excellent recommendation for a reasonable place along the beach.) There are billiards, ping pong, a natural water pool, hammocks and so much more available to guests.

United KingdomThe hotel which is located in relatively unspoilt forest about 30 km West of Puerto Morelos on the Ruta de los Cenotes consists of a number of cpmfortable bungalows bulit in the Mayan style around a small swimming pool and a restaurant serving simple but tasty meals and drinks. This makes it an ideal base for exploring the nearby cenotes, the coast between Cancun and Tulum (including Cozumel) the Mayan sites of Coba and Chichen Itza. I was travelling alone on a birdwatching trip but the hoel was clearly popular with couples and families seeking to explore the Yucatan penninsular away from the resort areas. The complex is run by a lovely couple, she is Mexican and he is French, who are trilingual (French, Spanish & English) and for whom nothing is too much trouble. An added bonus for me was that the grounds of the hotel turned out to be very good for birdwatching with a nice range of resident species and winter visitors from North America.

Our bungalow was great. It was spacious and nicely decorated. We loved that it was a private place in their beautiful jungle. The owners and staff were very welcoming and took good care of us. The communication was easy and pleasant. We saw some monkeys and a lot of birds. Thanks for your hospitality!

Really enjoyed the peace of the location and the warm welcome we received. Nice walks in the forest with stunning butterflies and wild monkeys. They also help with information on birds if you are interested. Don’t expect 5 star luxury but saying that the food is great and the accommodation clean and has what you need.

United KingdomEither stay on site or take a car. We visited a couple of cenotes which were easy to drive to but you'd need to do more planning without wheels

United StatesI went in late October which is off season, so I was the only guest outside of the staff, which honestly wasn’t a bad thing at all, it was kind of a good thing for what I needed, just felt a bit weird being the only patron somewhere.
I have always wanted to visit and stay in a Jungle and I was able to here. I was in the pool or hammock amongst all of the trees and could hear the monkeys and other wildlife, which was phenomenal. I slept so well because of those sounds. There are tons of walking trails and I walked some and wished I had had more time to explore the entire place, but instead I went right down the street to Extreme Adventures Cancun and did an excursion.

BelgiumNo airco in the cabin, electricity was up and down for a part of the night, which resulted in the fans shutting down and starting up again for well over 2 hours. This was fixed though in the middle of the night. Below average matress.
Very friendly and helpfull staff, lovely setting in the woods, nice swimming pool and excellent food at night. Large queensize bed (often difficult to find in Mexcio). Mosquito nets provided.

LithuaniaWe saw plenty of birds but unfortunately no monkeys - please see this with some humor if you are considering staying there, all good though
The hostess was trying her best everywhere - there were some problematic staff members but she really tried to make our trip comfortable. She even took us to the nearest city when the taxi failed to arrive. Basically, this is a superb place to stay if you have a car and not as convenient if you are dependent on taxis or buses.

United StatesI understand the new management is looking for staff. These guys are great, they really take care of you, but they can’t do everything all at once, all the time.

United StatesThe place has seen better days. I realize maintaining a property in the jungle is probably challenging but I would not say it matches the photos on line. Beds were very hard. Dogs (which I realize they can not control) barked all night.
The chef was lovely and accommodating. He was very sweet. We added eggs and beans to our breakfast and it was pretty good. They had games to play.

United KingdomIt was very poor vfm. Although we knew that it was 30+km away from anywhere, even though initial location suggested it was was closer to Puerto Morelos, it really was isolated and a mistake of ours to choose this location. It was also extremely empty, with only 2 other people during our first night, it was dead! Breakfast was very poor vfm. Worst of all was the inaccurate description and photos of the place. Maybe 20+ years ago, it may have looked like the photos, but it was very dated, a tired, run-down place. We certainly didn't fancy swimming in the dirty pool and facilities generally were run fin. To be near us, our son and daughter in law stayed 10km closer to town in a place less than half the cost of ours and twice as nice. I read that the French owner was the chef, but this wasn't the case, the snacks available were uninspiring and we never did see the owners. We'd never stay here again and wouldn't recommend it.
Friendly couple of guys looking after the place

United KingdomThe team were very welcoming, and the rooms very comfortable. Having read a couple of reviews about bugs (it is the jungle!), all we had was a tiny lizard! There's a big mosquito net over the bed, not that it seemed that bad when we travelled anyway. The driver was available until 9, which was very helpful when travelling from further away. The showers were hot - another surprise in the jungle!
