Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe interior of this hotel is absolutely beautiful. The courtyard, columns and wide staircase were built with the cantera, seen in many historic buildings around Oaxaca.

United StatesBeautiful boutique hotel with modern rooms. We stayed at the Amatista room which was quite spacious and clean. We chose one without a balcony for a more quiet stay since the hotel is practically across the zocalo. It was also nice that the hotel was right across the city center and walking distance to pretty much everything. Violeta, who I think is the owner, was super nice and attentive. Will definitely stay there again!

AustraliaNothing, everything was great
My husband and I had the best stay at Casa de la Asuncion. It was the first stop in our four week trip around Mexico - and it is definitely a highlight so far. Location was unbeatable, in the middle of everything with all major attractions and food spots with in walking distance. Rooms were huge and clean, great amenities. But it was the staff that absolutely made the stay great. Violeta was contactable via WhatsApp before we checked in and was super flexible on check in time (we got in really late). We encountered some issues with our ADO bus to Puerto Escondido when we checked out and Violeta was an amazing help. She called the company to find out more, researched other travel options for us and allowed us to keep our bags in the room until our new departure time. She made a challenging situation as stress free as possible. We would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone travelling to Oaxaca.

ColombiaIt is hard to think of anything. The hotel does not serve breakfast. That might bother some people. It was fine for us as we preferred walking around to the nearby really great cafes and bakeries for breakfast. In particular I can recommend Boulenc bakery and cafe that is about a block away, and many of the stalls in the 20 November market which isn't far either and has great, typical Mexican breakfasts, as well as a lot of other great things to eat.
The hotel was charming and in a truly fantastic location in the heart of the old city, less than a block from the Cathedral plaza and about a block from the main Zocalo. It was easy to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go and felt very safe doing so. The staff in the hotel, particularly Violeta although there weren't a lot of others, were incredibly warm, friendly, welcoming and very helpful and informative. The room was clean and a reasonable size with an excellent bathroom with a shower I wish I had at home. There was a small balcony overlooking the street from which it was very pleasant to watch the activities below. (The photo is of a parade that passed below us.) At first we were a little worried that the room was directly over a fairly busy street, but the windows are very good and the noise level was surprisingly minimal. We slept too late each morning as it was so comfortable and quiet.

CanadaWhile breakfast was not included (no kitchen facilities onsite), that was not an issue, as there were several restaurant / coffee shop options within easy walking distance of Casa de la Asuncion, and given its location in El Centro.

This small boutique hotel, 6 or 7 rooms only, has an excellent location steps away from the historic and lively downtown area. Despite its proximity to the main tourist square, the hotel itself is secure and peaceful. Our spacious and spotless room was upstairs, overlooking a small courtyard, with windows opening on to it. Breakfast is not provided but Tito's, a local restaurant, is virtually next door and was recommended by our concierge. Coffee and tea were provided in the room, plus 4 small bottles of water per day. We only had to supplement this once during our 4 day visit. Violetta, our charming concierge, was available either in person or 24 hours a day on WhatsApp. She arranged a great private tour for us, custom-made to go to the places we wanted to visit and organized our return to the airport. Don't just think about it: stay here! You'll be lucky if there's a room available!

United StatesThe only problem was we chose to have a balcony which was pretty sweet, but being so close to the park, it was a bit noisy( no fault of the property owners,). But I would definitely stay there again.
The location is great, right in the middle of the Centro district. If you have a room on the street side, it can be a bit noisy . The staff is amazing. The owners daughter was especially kind and accommodating.. the front desk person was wonderful as well.
