Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThis was a fun experience and far away from the urban environment. Breakfast was good and lots of fresh fruits were provided which for us was a real treat. Coffee could have been better but it is not a cafe.

United StatesThere are several short staircases we needed to be careful with, especially in the dark. The price of charming architecture, however, so we have no complaint.
La Cupula is absolutely charming and comfortable. The gracious hosts provide what matters to travelers: morning coffee, access to a washing machine, and inviting places around the inn to gather and chat. Breakfast is surely the finest around. Best of all was our hosts' warm welcome. The hosts made time to visit with us, even chauffeuring us about town. The property includes the family's exceptional weaving workshop and my friends and I learned a lot! La Cupula offers much more than " bed " and " breakfast!"

Our stay at La Cupula was an unforgettable experience. Demetrio is an exceptional host who went out of his way to make our trip to Teotitlán enjoyable. His wife, Maribel, provides a generous delicious breakfast, and the hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. I am so glad that we had the chance to learn about natural dyes from Demetrio before we ventured to Teotitlan. Neither of us had planned to buy rugs, but we ended up buying several from Demetrio and his son and their beauty will always remind me of our pleasant stay there.

United StatesThere are stairs to access everything and we had older family members with us.
Staying at La Cupula includes immersion into the weaving arts of the Teotitlan community.

United KingdomOne of the best places I have ever stayed. Our host was incredibly helpful with arranging pickup from airport, even helping with a punctured wheelchair tyre. The property is very safe and peaceful, the rooms are really comfortable and clean, nicely decorated with really good bathroom facilities. We enjoyed the breakfast, and the highlight was of course learning about traditional weaving and natural dyes. Location is great, nice and quiet but can catch a moto taxi into the main village very easily from right outside.

La Cupula exceeded my expectations. The location was great - just a short walk into town and the room was very spacious and clean. The best part of my stay was waking up to a delicious home made breakfast.

United StatesEverything was great. No notes on how to improve. Bring earplugs because there are some local roosters and dogs that wake up pretty early and greet the world.
Demetrio was the best host one could hope for. We arrived to a great place to stay and left with a friend. Location is not too far away from Oaxaca City but close to many day trips and activities.

The owner, Demetrio, was extremely friendly and helpful. He is also a local weaving artisan and explained and demonstrated his craft. The complimentary breakfasts were excellent.

United StatesNot having more time to have immersed myself into the local town. Location is truly enriched with Zapotec history and culture.
This location was ideal for multiple sites I wanted to visit isolated nearby. The host and his family made me feel welcomed and at home. The nearby town has amazing sites. I highly recommend this place as it literally felt like a place away from home.

United StatesStaying in the quieter room from day 1.
The first room I had was very noisy as it was right in front of the street and I could hear loud traffic all night, but the 2nd room in the inner courtyard was great! The host was very accommodating, and the breakfasts were delicious.

PanamaFor someone there for more days to learn even more advanced weaving skills, the kitchenette in the suite might lack a few items if cooking is planned. The village is a working village of reputedly 400 weaving families. The restaurants are not plentiful but there is a daily(?) market. However, the family is very accommodating. Plus a nice breakfast is included and there is a decent restaurant within walking distance. Tuk-tuks are widely available and inexpensive for those who do not wish to walk.
The location on the way into the small weaving village of Teotitlan was very good. Even better is that a family of weavers own and operate the B&B. The father who is known for not only his weaving skills (exemplified by the birds in his rugs) but also for his expertise with natural dyes, was willing to share his knowledge as was his son who weaves some interesting modernistic rug designs. The same son picked us up at the airport and drove us to Oaxaca City for the balance of our stay in the area. He also organized and took us to an artisanal mescal distillery in a nearby town to see the production process as well as sample various mescals, including the less available mescals produced from wild agave pinas.
