Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaCome prepared for mosquitos and bugs (not related to the hotel, just comes with the territory). Restaurant is a bit pricy and tips were input by staff at the highest amount without always mentioning or asking which I found forward.
Beautiful tropical retreat that I had the pleasure of staying at. Beachfront and facilities were stunning and perfect for relaxing at. The aircon will be your new best friend. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. 10 /10 would visit again or recommend to others.

Jamaica1.Smell of the straw provoked my husband’s allergies;we had to change to a room without the thatch roof 2.We could not use the sea as the sargassum blanketed the shoreline for much of the coast 3.The food was really good but needs more variety for the entree
1.The Natural features and incorporation of the natural elements into the decor and layout of the property -sand -twig as lighting fixtures -Inclusion in the park allowed us to see the -iguanas,birds and other animals in their natural habitat 2.Cleanliness 3.The minimalistic style 4.The use of straw to assist in cooling the rooms 5.The sprawling layout 6.Courteous staff - David went out of his way to assist us -The dining room staff were GREAT 7. There was no television 8.The freshly squeezed natural orange juice was lovely 9.We stayed in TULUM so we could vist Chichen -Itza,the highlight of our trip -the bus ride was about 1-2 hours with a stop at the spectacular CENOTE SAAMAL, RAUA and after the visit to the Archaeological site,we stopped in Valladolid. The entire trip was about 12 hours. We thoroughly enjoyed that! 10.The beds were firm but comfortable

United StatesSargassum: it is not the hotel fault of course, but it should be taken into consideration. Our main goal was not swimming in the sea but visiting the Tulum archaeological site, and since we only stayed one day at the hotel, the large amount of sargassum in the sea didn’t affect us (the trip took place at the end of June). On the other hand, I recommend avoiding sargassum season, as the beautiful beach in front was impossible for swimming and the smell was very strong throughout the area including the hotel premises. Additionally, since the hotel is inside a national park, it’s necessary to purchase extra bracelets to move around, which is an added expense to keep in mind.
I stayed for just one day in a bungalow and loved the experience of being surrounded by a beautiful coconut grove by the sea. The hotel is located within the national park and close to the Tulum archaeological zone, which can be visited on foot, although the park also offers internal transportation via small electric buses.

United StatesThe bathrooms are not private so it’s just something to consider and the bungalows could use some more hooks to hang stuff on.
Location staying right on the beach is amazing and the staff is absolutely fantastic! The wildlife is also so special. The beach is not crowded and the facilities, bar and restaurant is great ! bungalows bathrooms are not private as there is no real door or roof of the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower could be better but you are staying at a beach !

United StatesJust a heads-up—while the hotel is in a beautiful setting, there are a few things to keep in mind. The on-site restaurant is quite pricey, and there's an additional fee since you're inside the national park. If you're someone who likes to unwind with a little TV, the rooms don’t have televisions. The pool is on the smaller side and didn’t appear to be in use during our stay. Overall, the hotel could benefit from a few updates, but the location and natural surroundings definitely make up for some of that.
The hotel is right inside the national park "Parque del Juagar" so you really get to disconnect from the world and just enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. It’s super relaxing, and to top it off, it has a beautiful beach front perfect for unwinding and soaking it all in.

United KingdomWe stayed in a room in the main building, so cannot comment on other room types. Yes the room facilities are somewhat run down and simple, apart from excellent aircon which is essential. Do not come here if you are the White Lotus kind. If however you are not, this will be a comfortable enough stay, very clean and pleasant with its own relaxed charm and decadence in a simply unique and stunning location. All families and adults around us seemed relaxed and happy and we loved our brief time here. While expensive, and please factor in extra costs for access to the park (every time you enter) and separately the ruins, this was much cheaper than the more pristine resorts further up and down the coast, so overall good value for money.
The staff, the location, the beach, the beach restaurant, and that special light, were all outstanding. We had a lovely brief stay that allowed us early, direct access to the Tulum ruins (as you are already in the Jaguar park), and a lovely time at the beach with the unique colours. The restaurant is at Tulum-level prices (i.e. expensive) but everything we eat was excellent and the staff were very efficient, fast, kind and friendly. The breakfast was very good too, and kids friendly, and mostly included. We saw no evidence of what other travellers complained of.

South AfricaWe were a bit disappointed to not get one of the bungalows (which we understood we booked). Also, we were a bit confused on how the entry to the park worked as we understood if once checked in we would pay less, but we ended up having to pay entry fees daily.
The setting is absolutely magical and the staff super friendly. We also enjoyed diving with the turtles and stingrays.

GermanyWe really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The bungalow was lovely and the surrounding area was beautiful and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful—special thanks to Carlos and his colleague at the reception for their warm hospitality and assistance throughout our visit. One suggestion for improvement: it would be more convenient if the cost of park entry were included in the hotel price. This small change would make the experience even smoother for guests.

United StatesWhat really made me angry was the fact that you had to pay 415 pesos (US$ 20) per day for enetering the parc (Zona Arqueologica Tulum) for each person. They claim that when you are a hotel guest that will be waived additional fees, but that is NOT true. The military and some parc attendants control that at the entry point from the roudabout or the Tulum ruins entry check if you have the right date on your wristband. If the date on the wristband shows the date from the previous date, even if you have a hotel wrist band, they let you pay 415 pesos (US$ 20) again for each person. So you end up with three wrist bands (Parc #1, Parc #2 and the hotel) on your arm that the hotel reception recommends you have/wear at all time. THey told me they have no word to change that. They started this fee on January 7th. I will not consider going to that part again, as it hinders you to go to town or so. If you just want to stay at the hotel, fine, no issue. BUT also an issue, what I noticed is, some taxis don't like to enter that area. Good luck getting one and getting out of there. They do have some electric shuttles, but they stop operation I think when it gets dark.
The beach and the ocean was exceptional. The beach was clean. For the first time in many years there was NO seagrass. Just a bit that can be ignored, but that was nothing compared to the past. This time NO seagrass in the water. Absolutely amazing. The food at the beach bar was exceptional. I'm talking really good and the prices were more than fair for the quality of food. Cocktails were also very reasonable. So if you like to dine there and have drinks, no problem with out ruining your holiday budget.

RomaniaThe first room we were given had a musty smell, the bathroom ceiling was full of musty and the hot water was not flowing. Then they changed our room and it was OK. Another issue to consider is the access to the park and the fees, every day we were asked for a new fee under various pretexts.
The location is superb, the interior courtyard is dreamy. Breakfast is served quickly and is reasonable. At the beach, a sunbed is included and the prices for food and drinks are OK.

United KingdomThe location in the park although kind of exclusive you felt a bit trapped. It cost 415 pesos each to enter. The hotel can help advise you about wristbands and coming and going once you are there. Luckily we didn’t need to leave and pay again as we only stayed 2 nights. As it’s in the park there are no shops nearby and of course the prices were higher than we had paid anywhere else in Mexico.
The beach was beautiful and really clean. It was definitely the nicest end of the beach too. The beach club is good with good service. Our room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable.
