The activites they offered everyday where really nice. I went with them to the bioluminescence spot that normally costs if you book it officially. The personal is super friendly. The location is very close to a wonderful beach.

I had a very good time in Mapache Hostel! The location, the vibes, the people, everything was just great! Even the breakfast with the daily extras was nice and big enough. Totally recommend it!

The ceiling fan was rather loud and the heat was almost unbearable at noon with the door closed. I've seen similar accomodations that have a small AC installed that worked perfectly. Maybe that's something to consider to improve the place.

I loved the little tent shaped Bungalow. The mosquito net protected us well. Staff was helpful and kind. Outside sitting area was nice. Showers had warm and cold water. Toilets were clean. Compound not far from the beach. Maybe 7 minutes walking. My tip: if you want to see the bioluminiscence, just take a walk to the beach by the lagoon (40 minutes). No need for an organized tour. But make sure you take mosquito repellent and shoes to walk in water.

I only planned to stay 2 nights, but I kept extending and extending. I ended up staying for 3 weeks in total. I made so many friends. The staff, both receptionists (Sam y Pao) and volunteers (Pablo - the Best chef!, André, Bianca!) made me feel so welcome and at home. I had the time of my life. It all felt like one big family, sharing beautiful moments together, and food. I stayed in a tent, which was very comfortable!! The common area is very chill with lots of hammocks.

Such a great vibe! Lovely staff, lovely free events such as bonfire night and yoga. The free breakfast (chilaquiles were amazing!!) is a great way to meet people. Facilities are simple but clean. Loved it!

The location is amazing. Close from the beach and the center. Yet it is so calm !! The garden area is also great, plugs and hammock are available.

The air in the dorm was rather stuffy, due to the small window. The air conditioning in the night made the room rather chilly, as no blankets were provided. Despite being nicely decorated and colourful, the hostel would benefit from some extra care, as a lick of paint here and there or better lockers, which were rather rusty and wobbly.

The outdoor space was nice. The bed was very comfortable. The hostel had a cozy feel.

All the staff were absolutely amazing (Pao, Lily, Sabrina, Sam, Gaya and so on)! So friendly and helpful during my stay. The location is perfect, just steps from the beach. Loved the chill vibe of the hostel!

Only thing was there was no soap or paper towels at the sink by the toilets / showers so washing your hands properly was difficult if you don’t have anti bacterial gel, you’d have to grab your own soap which wasn’t ideal... For the price I’d say basic things like hand soap and such should be included. Breakfast was also extremely basic for the price.

The tipi was great, very cute and cosy. Mosquito net over the bed came in handy for sure, comfy bed and pillows and 2 fans were perfect. Hot showers and nice outside chilling space. Loved seeing the raccoons!!

Fan slightly annoying in room as it kept moving/rotating and couldn't be adjusted. Lost our laundry bags - nothing major.

Great location, very clean, staff super friendly and helpful. Laundry service very quick. Nice activities and opportunities to socialise. Decent showers.

Close to everything. Chill, friendly vibes. Got an upgrade to a cabine which was super wonderful. The AC was welcoming. Even when you are fifty this is a great place to stay. :)

Staff were fantastic, in particular Barbara and Josh who were always up for a chat and provided great recommendations. Outside common area was great for relaxing in hammocks and meeting new people. Was a very social hostel but not a party hostel! Breakfast every morning was great.

Not that much showers, sometimes I had to wait. But still clean and tidy. Breakfast is nice but not that special. Tipi's are a little dark. But all small points. Still loved the vibe here!

Very nice and welcoming hostel. The staff is really nice and interested in you. Every day there is something organised like a streetfood tour, bioluminescence tour etc. So you can meet other people. Very good wifi

Absolute pleasure to be at this hostel. Good facilities and free breakfast was excellent and allowed you to connect with people very easily. Mara was incredibly welcoming!

Really nice and cozy hostel, the volunteers made you feel welcome and at home and there were nice activities. Breakfast was good, the facilities were nice and the kitchen was clean and well equipped. Would definitely recommend!

The toilets were often clogged, but probably because of other guests. Other than that it was great.

The hostel looks adorable with a great vibe. The hosts were really friendly and helpful, we could easily ask for anything and they would do their best to help. There were activities each day to take part in, which is good to socialise with others and get acquainted with the island. Loved it!
