Everything was perfect. I couldn't pick out a negative thing to say if I tried. Great staff, great location, all so friendly. We were genuinely sad to leave this place when it was time to return home.

We loved literally everything about Mawimbi. The people at the front desk made life so easy by making reservations around the island for us, scheduling a taxi as needed, and being extremely friendly. Likewise, the rest of the staff was so nice. Never in our lives have we truly felt like we were at home while being on vacation. The staff felt like real friends to us, gave us suggestions on how to enjoy our vacation, and consistently made sure we were having a good times. You truly cannot go wrong by staying at Mawimbi. Additionally, the rooms have great A/C, direct beach access, on-site restaurant, and you're just far enough away from the clubs for things to be tranquil and quiet, yet close enough that a 3 minute walk gets you where the parties are at if you're into that.

Paradise - we got to experience incredible island life with incredible views, food, facilities and most importantly people. Cannot rate our Mawimbi experience any better, we will be back! All staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Vibe is perfect for laidback people who can appreciate this unique hotel, which has the best beach access on the island, sabroso comida and fun, attentive service!

The beach water out front was a bit funky. This is because it's right at the center of town and I think there is runoff from the local businesses. This is not the hotels fault.

We LOVED the beach club area. It was the prettiest one around. It's next to casa Tortuga's and their beach was crowded and small, definitely not as pretty. There were plenty of beach beds that were comfortable and well maintained.

Honestly this is one of the best hotels we ever stayed in. First and foremost, the amazing and friendly staff has to be pointed out. But secondly, the location, the beach, the room, the facilities... Everything is just perfect. It literally feels like living in a movie scene. From comfortable sun beds to a bonfire at the beach during sunset, this hotel has it all. Even though we love trying out new restaurants, we only ate in the hotel restaurant the entire stay because it was that good. Peak time is in the morning, when beach club visitors are not yet there and the beach is empty. We will surely come back and have recommended this place to every other Mexico traveller we met so far!

The property is stunning. It's on a gorgeous part of the beach but close enough to town to easily walk wherever you need to go. The rooms are clean and well designed and the restaurant is delicious. The staff is friendly and make you feel like family. I can't wait to go back.

There was nothing not to like

The hotel is fantastic!! The photos you see are exactly how it appears and the staff are SO warm and friendly. It is small and boutique and not overcrowded. We were staying here as an extra day added on before going to Casa las tortugas next door. While Casa las tortugas is pricier, Mawimbi was definitely the premier hotel in our view. The experience was much more personal, less crowded, better food and service, better day beds and lounge facilities. If I’d have known how nice it would be we would have stayed the whole time. Choose this one over Tortugas if picking. We intend on coming back!! Stay was perfection, thank you hotel Mawimbe!

Nothing to say here. Being picky - maybe a few more hooks in the room (we had the cheapest) as there isn't anywhere outside to hang things to dry. My husband would've liked to have made tea in the room.

The location was breathtaking. The ambiance was rustic but chic and the details were very much appreciated and the vibe beautiful. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding and we ended up eating in more than we would do ordinarily. We would definitely like to return.

The property was beautiful, had a lovely setup with their restaurant and lounge chairs in front of a great stretch of the beach. We loved the breakfast with fresh juices every morning, the friendly staff, and the sweet dogs roaming around. The location was fabulous too and within short walking distance to town.

The overall decor and aesthetic was really great without being pretentious. The attention to detail from the on site owners to the reception staff, housekeeping and restaurant staff was fantastic. It never felt like the classic tourist being overly indulged by the working staff. Truly felt like guests vs. just another tourist to cater to.

We were asked to pay a deposit via PayPal, and since this isn’t really a cheap hotel, it all felt a bit weird and dodgy at first. Mostly because I’ve never been asked that by a hotel before.

What a great place! We spent 3-4 days here and never really found a reason to leave the hotel grounds. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the beach is just so nice! This is not a giant hotel, so there’s limited amount of other guests, which makes it almost feel like you’re in your private hotel. The rooms were insanely nice, comfortable, and well decorated.
