The staff at the Posada is outstanding. The ladies that cook and clean are fabulous, they take very good care of the hotel guests. Hotel management is not always on site, however communication via WhatsApp was excellent. Edwin was on top of our every need, he helped us with taxi service, tours, check in & out and local events and attractions.

The Posada Independencia is located an easy walk to all the activities in Oaxaca. Traffic noise is loud at times. The hotel & grounds are a bit spartan, but very well maintained, clean and safe. It’s the little things that make a big difference; great breakfast, several drinking water dispensers.

We had a room on the street and it was noisy at night. It’s about a 15-20 minutes walk to the center of Oxaca city.

The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Posada Independencia was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the linens were lovely. They served a full breakfast daily that included fresh fruits and an egg dish that varied daily. We used their suggested contact to schedule tours and spent two amazing days seeing the incredible sights of Oaxaca outside of the city itself.

We really enjoyed our stay at Posada Independencia, the location was convenient, just a 10 min walk to the center of town. We loved our complimentary breakfast, it was always fantastic and deliciously made. The cleanliness of this place is unmatched, they really go above and beyond to make sure everything is in its place. We also manage to make great conversation with the other Hotel guests due to the layout of the dining table. Loved the staff, they were so friendly, welcoming, and always eager to help in answering any and all questions.

Wonderful stay in this hotel in Oaxaca! Very good location close to the city center and to many restaurants! The staff was super friendly and flexible! We asked for an upgrade when we learned that the room we booked didn't have any window and they found a perfect solution for us! Breakfast was also very good and changing every day based on a fixed menu! Definitely recommend if you are staying in Oaxaca!

Our room was perfect for 4 nights. Clean, cosy and chic. The staff were incredibly friendly and the cooked breakfast every morning was a welcome luxury. Each time we asked for local recommendations responses were efficient and exceeded expectations! I'd recommend Posada Independencia for anyone looking for a safe hub to explore Oaxaca from.

Absolutely tidy and well equipped. Alex is very thoughtful and detail-oriented to provide little gadgets to make my stay even more comfortable (even I didn’t ask for it). Nice breakfast and I like the granola the most. Also shout out to gym lovers, cheap and useable gym right next to it!

Everything! Starting at the location: close to the Center but not right in the middle so you would get caught up in the noise. Although next to a big street very quite and an oasis of calm. The friendly and attentive stuff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Including on-site staff and the owner messaging promptly on booking.com / WhatsApp. When we asked to leave our bags after check-out we were offered to use our room till we needed to leave as it wasn’t booked again. Which had a really positive impact on our day. The included breakfast was bountiful - unlimited good coffee, fresh fruit, cereal and a daily rotating hot breakfast. Security - with a number of different measures this place felt very safe. All in all, a beautiful place with great breakfast.

The staff was amazing and so friendly. The rooms are excellently decorated, with impeccable attention to detail. The location in the center of Oaxaca is ideal for exploring the city. You're at walking distance from all of the "must-sees." I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will 100% be back!

Everything about this location was perfect. It is in the best location. We stayed at a more expensive place earlier in the week and wish we didn't-The courtyard is delicious, and so so pretty. The room was perfect. Breakfast daily. If this place is available, book it. The design is beautiful and the price is unbeatable.

This place is a gem! We were a little skeptical since there weren’t many reviews. As soon as we walked in the posada it felt like a home. Great location,rooms, and social areas. The whole property is beautiful, with much more attention to detail than we expected. The rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. The terrace is gorgeous. We walked so much everyday it was just very nice to have a wonderful place to come back. Everything was smooth. Thank you so much for the kindness. We will return!
