Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesOne of the morning crew was noticeably not happy to be there, was a bit rude so I went and had breakfast next door…
Location location especially on Friday/Saturday when Plazuela Machado comes to life… Staff was amazing, Laura from F&B and Katia front desk were just amazing.

United StatesNothing. Everything exceeded my expectations.
I recently stayed at this property located in Mazatlán’s historic district, just steps away from the vibrant Plazuela Machado. This charming square, established in 1837, is a cultural hub surrounded by restaurants, galleries, and the Ángela Peralta Theater . The location was ideal for exploring the city’s rich history and lively atmosphere. Everything was within walking distance, including the Mercado Pino Suárez, a bustling market that has been serving locals since 1900 . The area is filled with diverse dining options, making it easy to enjoy authentic local cuisine. The property itself was modern and impeccably clean. The staff provided excellent service, always attentive and helpful. Their hospitality made my stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Mazatlán. It’s a fantastic place that combines comfort, convenience, and a touch of history.

United StatesGreat location if you want to stay in old town. The staff is wonderful so helpful. Gracias David and Diego and Samantha and the rest of the staff. We were staying in Pueblo Bonita resort and I had decided to get away from that touristy place and be with the local. Happy I made that decision

United StatesIt is loud - but that comes with the location over the main square and next to the church. It gets humid - but, again, that comes with the territory.
The location is amazing, the restaurant and upper patio designs are stunningly beautiful. Shower is super great, the cleaning team works fast and you can ask them for anything you need. The food is very good, but the bar is even better, cocktails are delicious and everything is very affordable. But the best is the staff! Everyone is incredibly friendly and accommodating, we spent a NYE there and felt like we were beloved family. Also location by the Plaza Machado is perfect for wandering around Centro Histórico.

United StatesThe room was a little small. There was no dresser, so unpacking was not happening. Living out of a suitcase is less than ideal. The music in the square can play louder and later than we liked.
Plaza Machado is the main Square in old town, which is having a revival. It's charming and the streets are very safe. There are lots of nice restaurants to choose from. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.

CanadaFlat, hard pillows. Shutters with privacy screens and no real windows to reduce the outside noises. The entertainment in the Plaza and outside the restaurant can go into the wee hours of the morning. I highly recommend earplugs. This is not a deal breaker though and I do intend to return and stay again in the near future!
Beautiful, updated historical hotel in the Plaza Machado. The hotel has a great restaurant with a strong focus on traditional Sinaloanese food. My room was a good size with a comfortable but 'firm' bed. The bathroom had adequate lighting and there was always plenty of hot water in the shower. The air conditioner worked well when required. There was a small closet to hang all of our clothing for our 9 day stay. Check in was very smooth and I prepaid via the Booking app. There are very many restaurants nearby and amazing art galleries. Everything you need is practically within walking distance.

United StatesNothing I did not like.
The facility is absolutely charming with unique rustic, islandy feel. The food was tasty and top shelf. The staff was beyond wonderful and went out of their way to help us. Room pricing was surprising reasonable. Felt like we found a gem. Stop by just to peak inside...surprising...and enjoy a marguerita on the outside patio. Will absolutely recommend this place and stay here again in future visits.

CanadaWe stayed in the room with the large rooftop patio, which overlooks the square. It does get loud with music, but we didn't mind because we sat outside on the roof and enjoyed it. Just know that if you are looking for a quiet night, ask for a room at the back of the hotel.
Beautiful hotel located on Machado Square. The room was spacious and had a beautiful space on the rooftop to relax, enjoy a drink, and soak up the sun. The square below is full of restaurants, beautiful shops are close by, and the evening is full of vendors, musicians, and coloourful lights. A really authentic experience. The hotel is very pretty, with dining inside and on the plaza. There is a small pool to cool down. All the details of the hotel are very pretty! The breakfast was AMAZING! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. A lovely experience!

United StatesStaying in the heart of a city is going to be loud at times. The hotel provides earplugs to assist with blocking out sound, but it’s something to be aware of if choosing to book this location. I still slept well during my stay and cannot wait to return again.
Location, the staff was incredible every step of the way and really made my stay very special. The food was great, pricing was fair, and this property has so much heart and soul that is perpetuated by the incredible people that work there.
