Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesReally, no complaints...overall, great family oriented resort.
This was our first time in Mexico and at an all-inclusive resort. Great family resort, and the price point was great as this was a last-minute trip. Things I'd want to know before going that I didn't find on their website... Check-in: Staff super nice upon arrival. We got there 3 hours before official check-in time, but they started the process early (free of charge) and gave us our wristbands/pool towel cards so we could eat/drink or swim while waiting on our room to be ready. They went over the map of the resort, the activities, the app, etc...and also talked to us about doing a timeshare. We were able to leave our luggage with the front desk. When our room was ready at 3 pm, I just gave them our ticket stubs for our luggage, and they drove us to our room via golf cart. Waterpark: 11 & 14 year old boys loved it. Never overcrowded. The 7 big slides are open 10-5pm. Big play area for toddlers/younger kids with age appropriate slides. It is closed every Tuesday for cleaning. There isn't a bar to get alcohol within the waterpark, but the closest one is about a 2 min walk, so no biggie (another review I had read complained about this). They serve water and sodas inside the waterpark, and one day, they had ice cream, too. Buffet: HUGE selection... something for everyone and had a mix of different cultural foods for all meals. Had no complaints on the quality of food. I had read some reviews that were mixed about it when booking our trip. I guess keep in mind that this is buffet style food, not Michelin star quality (what buffet is?)... but it was all still very good!!! Dress code posted (no swim suits/flip flops) but not enforced...most complied, though. El Nido: outdoor taco place. Loved it. Tacos were awesome, and the charro beans were even better! Stays open all hours. Drinks: It is all inclusive except top shelf liquors. Like bartenders everywhere... they all make drinks a little different. Elmer was our favorite!!

United StatesHard to get directions and consistent information from staff. Only one place open for late night food. Only options at pools is hamburgers and hot dogs. Had to stay up till 12am for dinner reservations and we like to get to bed early so that was a bummer. Beach was rocky but the kids enjoyed playing in it and finding shells.
Pretty rooms. Staff kept everything clean. Great options for the family for things to do!

NetherlandsI’m a Mexican living outside of Mexico in Europe and I have never been more discriminated that the Mexican employees of the hotel, specially Santiago and Jorge that completely ignored me and my friend also from Mexico, they took the orders of several Canadian and French tourist and attended them before us even when we were there trying to talking to them. This is super disappointing that the employees being Mexicans treated me like that me being from Mexico. Totally unacceptable.
It’s big and has a lot of activities that you don’t even have to go out of the hotel to have fun.

United StatesThe water park did not feel clean but this was likely a result of the environment and weather rather than the upkeep. We did not care for the food at the resort. I do not think I will ever do an all inclusive again because it did not feel worth it. The area has pretty amazing food and restaurants and I wish we hadn’t felt obligated to eat the food at the resort.
The staff were very friendly. Our room was very nice and a perfect size/fit for our family of 5. The room was very clean and comfortable.

United StatesThe food was so disgusting , complete diarrhea. We had a group of 15. 12 had to eat out in town everyday for breakfast and lunch and several dinners. It took us 3 days to figure out how to eat in the decent restaurants in the resort. You must log in at exactly midnight and hope you can book a reservation for dinner. My family of 5 stayed for the majority of meals and ended up just living off the fruit and bread.
Beautiful grounds

United StatesThere was a lot of walking. The manager was not very helpful. We were there with family and some of the rooms were not cleaned. When asked to be cleaned or change rooms it took forever to get anything done. A room on the 3 rd floor flooded. Again it took forever to get anything resolved.
The property was alright. It was pretty The waiters and waitresses were extremely nice and prompt with orders.

United StatesWe couldn't eat at any of the non buffet restaurants our entire stay. Reservations are impossible! I even asked the front desk to walk me through the process and it didn't work. The app opens at midnight for the next day's reservations. I was refreshing at midnight and still couldn't manage to get a reservation to anywhere. I tried this every night. The resort was so big it needs a shuttle from the far side to the beach. Check-in took extra long, and the fact I checked-in online didn't matter. I had reserved 3 rooms and they couldn't check them in all at the same time. I had to do one room, and then the next, and then the next. 3 of the waterslides for my teenagers were broken. Our room was hastily constructed and it showed. We had a hole in the shower tile because they cut it incorrectly for the shower wand. And they must have applied the caulk with a trowel. If you take the jungle walk you better pack bug spray because you will be eaten alive. And forget about booking a time to swim in the Cenote unless you like to get up at 6am and stand in line at the activities desk by the kids center. We booked parasailing through the resort and it was almost double what we found online locally. And you need to take a taxi to go see downtown at all. The beach is rocky. Which was fine for littles to play and find shells and snails just bring water shoes because they are sharp. There really isn't much sand space on the beach to play on though. The snorkeling was subpar! We were extremely disappointed, especially since it was a rocky beach. Honestly it was an ok stay. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't spectacular. And if my family returns to Playa del Carmen area we will pick a different resort next time.
Loved the monkeys in the trees and watching the turtles in the rivers. The bar service was excellent. Especially with non-alcoholic drinks for the kids. And the Juice bar by the pool was worth the wait. My kids enjoyed playing ping pong and pool. We enjoyed taking the bikes for a ride. The Cenote & Fire evening shows were good. You can skip the rest of the evening shows they were not worth it. The taco truck tacos were amazing. Get one of everything!!

United KingdomThe meal experience could be much better handled. Standing in a queue for the buffet and another queue to book alacarte restaurants was quite awful. We were there to meet up with our young family and this was even more difficult with kids in tow. The beach was quite badly eroded so not very much beach at all and one had to step over rocks, etc to get out for a swim in the sea. Our bedroom was musty/damp smelling!
We loved the green surrounds with animals and birds in close proximity, the various pools were excellent, the entertainment was of good quality and staff helpful.

United StatesLoooong lines, that’s true. Beach is not perfect. You need shoes to enter the water. Food is not best. It’s okeyish, but in other places in Cancun it was better. Water in pools is not very clean. Water slides are somewhat old, but fun. Don’t have too luxury expectations.
Large area, many animals, which is fun for kids. We spent all 7 days inside the hotel, walking 15000+ steps each day. There are many things to do in the hotel, which is very good. Night shows are good, but two of them were boring. Considering how much we paid, it was a very good value for money.

United StatesHand washing at the buffets is non existent!! Seriously, bring your own hand sanitizer because that many people touching the same utensils is just gross. So that part freaked me out. Getting a spot in the sit down restaurants is difficult. You have to sign up at mid night for the next days reservation. However, you don’t need a reservation for the Brazilian restaurant for breakfast or lunch and that was nice.
The location is super fun. It’s in the jungle and on the beach. Lots of paths you can bike on, some small Mayan ruins, pools and some fun water slides. The staff are all very friendly. Lots of guests from Canada, France, and USA. Our room was nice and comfortable and there’s water dispensers in the room. They all have patios or balconies. We really enjoyed the fire show and the cenote show.

CanadaOnly 2 of the restaurants did not require a reservation, and it was impossible to get a proper answer on were to book the reservations. We asked multiple times and different people, and always got a different answer on where to go for one. In the end, we didn't get to eat at very many different places. The gym was super small and didn't have a ton of different equipment. we paid for the penthouse suite, and were expecting a room for the kids, there was only a sun bed and a king size bed, we were a family of 3, so we made due, but it didn't fully meet our expectations
The beach and the pools were amazing. However, we didn't know about the club members only areas, so it was a little disappointing that we weren't able to utilize some of the areas considering what we paid for the trip, and they weren't labeled very well, so it was a bit of a guessing game until a security guard came up and told us to leave by simply pointing at our wrist bands.

CanadaThe beach is rocky and so we couldn’t swim in the ocean which was the entire reason we picked a resort on the Coast. The food was terrible and we were ready to go home just so we didn’t have to eat it. The drinks were super watered down and tasted weird.
