Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing really - it's an inexpensive hotel, with everything you need to explore the city.
really lovely place - above the basic. staff so lovely & kind. workspace very useful. My room was very cosy & had everything I needed. It's right in the heart of the town and very easy to get around. I took two yoga classes with Rosy - I cannot recommend her highly enough. She's incredible.

United KingdomBuilding work meant loud noises, and no access to parts of the building, which we would have preferred to know in advance. One room only had hot water, including in the toilet
Great size room, very clean. Staff were very helpful when one of our party was very ill and we arrived before check-in time. They found a room for us to rest in. Lively bar, with free welcome drink. Location is great, in the middle of everything

AustraliaI loved Selina Oaxaca. My room was beautifully decorated (with a touch of quirky), clean & spacious & staff at the front desk were friendly & helpful. There's lots of bars, cafes, restaurants, shops & key sights in the neighbourhood & in-house yoga sessions daily (which I didn't get to). I booked a delightful facial & massage for my last night, set up in the downstairs "yoga room", so really quiet & spacious. The bar has a good drinks selection but didn't have evening meals or snacks during the week I was there. Highly recommend this lovely, character-filled, friendly & quiet boutique hotel.

AustraliaNo noise reduction measures in place- particularly the balcony door had a gap underneath so I was woken by cars and music throughout the night. Shower water remained cold or lukewarm
Location was amazing, very central. The courtyard is beautiful and the room itself had a lot of sunlight

CanadaI did not realize it was a shared bathroom- I may have overlooked it when I booked. The room was nice but there was no real window,
Great location, nice decoration, good atmosphere. I liked the cafe/bar, the welcome drink and the free yoga class!

CanadaAlthough the location is very close to the zocalo it was very noisy with partying at night out on the street. The rooms require an upgrade, patio doors are original however not soundproof at all, very dull colours on the walls especially the bathrooms, needs some brighter colours.
The hotel is very old but quaint and the staff were great, very accommodating to our needs, beds were comfortable.

NetherlandsOn the downside, we were staying on the ground floor, and the windows were very thin, so we could hear everything happening outside as if it were inside the room.
Amazing location right in the heart of the city, making it so easy to walk everywhere. The room was spacious, and I loved that they provided a suitcase stand and a big mirror—such thoughtful details. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

United KingdomNot being provided towels, when asked we had to pay a deposit and would not receive all on return. Staff member was not friendly on arrival - could have been a little nicer. Beds - it would’ve been nice for a little curtain between the beds as you were back to back with the next bed.
I liked the decor and the location was very easy to get in and around the city. The room was decent with the a private toilet and shower in the room and one also outside. I liked there was a bar on property to have a welcome drink. There was a cute little kitchen which was nice. They had what looked like private rooms at the top of the building, I would ideally book one of these next time.

NetherlandsIn the morning it's hard to sleep in because of the noisy street it's located on. The outside door doesn't close fully which makes for 0 isolation, you can hear every little sound on the street and so many cars pass by and start honking as early as 7 in the morning.
It's super centrally located. Everything you want to see or need is within 5-10 minutes walking. Very nice atmosphere and pretty rooms. Staff was also very friendly.

United KingdomWasn’t very social. Rooftop was not used in a sociable way, or in any way at all besides breakfast and welcome drinks which is a shame as it’s such a lovely space. The breakfast staff spoke little/no English, and could not understand my Spanglish which made ordering every morning pretty difficult. They also always ran out of orange juice in the morning which was the only juice available.
Aesthetically, beautiful! Lobby and view from lobby was lovely. Private room was super spacious and clean! Good breakfast options. Great location.. few minutes walk to the centre. Yoga on the rooftop was good except the teacher arrived late twice and did not apologise either time.

United StatesThe bed was terrible. Literally sleeping on a board. We paid extra to have a private room and bathroom...which was nice. But we did not expect to have noise issues. Yes, I know we are traveling to a country that is happy and lively and there will be music playing everywhere... but the issue is more of a not a single measure taken to noise proof the window. Other than the terrible bed and the terrible window... the room was good.
Loved the location. Awesome for walking everywhere. It's a cool vibe place. Convenient bar next door (part of the Hostel) Awesome saff! Super helpful. Mostly the location was super.
