Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe mattress needs upgrading as it’s very thin and you could feel the wooden slats underneath so not very comfortable. The little cut through path at the back to the beach is not nice to walk through, it’s overgrown, trash is dumped there, there was faeces and flies. It needs maintaining if it’s to be used as a path. Better to walk around to the beach.
Very cute treehouse cabanas, Clean and tidy. Nice place to relax and chill amongst nature. Loved the resident iguanas. Friendly owner. Good WiFi. Good kitchen amenities to use. Location is a 2 min walk to a nice quiet beach. It’s about 25 min/30 min walk along the beach into town. Taxi from ferry port is 250 pesos as it’s quite far to walk with luggage.

FranceVery nice place is you are on Holbox, the value for money is great, 150m from the beach, in a quiet area surrounded by birds. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and let us use their facilities after the check out. I would recommend it and go back again.

United KingdomThe treehouses shake a bit everytime someone walks up a ladder and the centre was a bit far, but perfectly walkable in about 30 mins:)
A great alternative type of accomodation right by the sea. Very much like glamping, with matresses, a little lamp and plug point inside every tent. Lock box included. A bit tight for 2 people to share, but perfect for 1 person if you like space! Great kitchen facilities, friendly owner with lots of useful advice! Lights were out by 10, so it was great to catch a good and peaceful night's sleep. Hammocks and seating area under the treehouses was lovely too!

GermanyThe street with a lot of ATVs is quite noicy also during the night. Not sound proof so you hear your neighbours. I was only able to sleep with ear plugs. Mattress a bit saggy and therefore hard if you sit on it - you feel the wood under it. We have been here also during heavy rain and thunderstorm. As we had a room at the end the rain came in from the side, even the bed got a bit wet on one side. Don't want to experience a real storm with wind in those rooms. The rooms are open to all sides. P.s. After rain the roads and the yard is flooded. P.s. New pans in the kitchen would be great.
Nice room with mosquito net and a fan. Real cute with a table and a hammock under each room. You also have a shared kitchen and bathroom that are nice and clean. You can refill your water for 10 MXN per Person as often as you want. 5 min walk to the beach. Also in walking distance to playa de cocos and the bioluminesce beach. 1.5 h walk to playa mosquito. The owner has good local Tips for you.

GermanySome few more bowls in the kitchen would be nice and the mattresses could be a little bit thicker. But the owners just newly took over the place and they are eager to further improve everything :)
The owner of the hostel is super nice and the whole atmosphere is very welcoming! The "room" are nicely decorated and have everything you need. And the 2 minutes walk to the beach is just awesome!

Great place. I liked that this accommodation was not in the centre of town - peaceful yet within walking distance to the action. The host was very friendly and helpful, and the place was kept spotlessly clean! Really enjoyed waking up to the sounds of birds and being able to see stars from my bed.

United KingdomMosquitos. I have been bitten alive. 😊 however we expected this. Going down the ladder to go to the toilet at 3am 🤪🤪🤪
Different to anything else we’ve stayed in. If it wasnt for the water floods on the ‘roads’/‘paths’ location would have been fab.

United KingdomAfter having arrived after some rain, there were many mosquitos around the site, especially given the standing water. The nearby beach path is unwalkable.

GermanyThe tents were quite small so I touched the net with my feet and therefore got bitten by mosquitoes a lot. You have to sleep with an open tent otherwise it gets too hot in the tent and you can’t sleep. There was also an animal at night that made very loud noises which kept us awake for quite some time. We had stored food in the kitchen and a raccoon broke in at night and ate it. So be aware that this can happen and properly close the food box you get. Also wouldn’t really recommend during rainy season. The place was completely under water when we got there. It didn’t rain though through our stay so I don’t know if the roofs are actually leaking or not. Maybe a bit pricey for sleeping in a tent.
The tents were quite cozy and I really liked waking up to a tropical view. There was a small ventilator that really helped. The people there were also really nice although the communication in English was a bit difficult. The bathrooms and showers were super clean. There were also quite many utensils and spices in the kitchen that you can use and you get your own little shelf to put your food there. The Wi-Fi worked super well. You got a towel and there was always toilet paper in the bathroom.

United Kingdom-Far away from the center, you would definitely need a taxi if you carry luggage -Very old shower heads and toilets that didn't work as they should -Mosquito net didn't adjust properly to the bed, so the available space for two people got very reduced if you didn't want to touch the net -Very loud fans -You need to pay for water -Lights out at 10 was ok, but the kitchen should still be available during the night as it is the only place you can get potable water from. -The back entrance fronm the beach could be better maintained. It seems like a dumpster
Not much, really. We went for a cheap option on the island and I guess we got what we paid for (maybe a bit worse than expected for the price) The staff was nice, especially the 2 women working at the site. The male could be friendlier. He made us feel as if everything he did for us was a huge effort when we arrived, but the situation got better the second day.

GermanyThe owners welcomed me with open arms and were exceptionally nice. It’s more of a glamping experience since the tents all have mattresses, plugins and light. You also have a kitchen for common use, space in the fridge and boxes to store your stuff. The camp is located in a more quiet area, quite close to Coco beach and about a 15min walk along the beach from the center. I highly recommend staying here if you want a family like atmosphere in a relaxed area.
