Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe room lacks natural light. It would need to be refreshed, looks a bit old fashioned for the price. Restaurant is expensive.
We liked: - the location of the Lodge - the two large swimming pools - the size of the room and the terraces - the breakfast.

GermanyThe WiFi was off for some time but it wasn’t big of a problem.
The hotel is directly at the Maya side, so you can park there and walk to the side. The pools and the whole area is really nice, just like the people working there and the bar.

United StatesI wish there would have been more choices at the restaurant. They also advertised bicycles however they were all in need of repairs when we were there.
We spent 3 nights at this hotel. The location was perfect for visiting Uxmal early in the morning before it got too hot and before the tours arrived. It is also perfectly located to make visits to the many cenotes. The pool was gorgeous. Bird watching on the property was probably my favorite.

United StatesHas limited charge points one one side of bed and in bathroom. Restaurant is very poor quality but no other option except driving to Pickled Onion (ok..) about 20 min away. Hacienda hotel had no meals but other hotel may be option. Staff are not very hospitable (worst in ten days). Room is dated.
Better option along Ruta Puuc. Spacious room. Decent shower. Large pool. Comfortable bed and good fan. Tastefully decorated.

United StatesThe rooms and the food at the on-site restaurant were a bit overpriced and the food/drinks are forgettable in general.
Wonderful, friendly staff and a great place for kids with the the pools, walking distance to the Uxmal ruins, the amazing jungle setting/landscaping, etc. We really enjoyed the Land Rover tour of the Hacienda.

United StatesThe shower didn't work.
Excellent staff, location and pool. It was perfect to arrive late afternoon and be greeted with the wonderful staff and a welcome drink. We went at 8 am the next morning to the ruins with a fabulous guide, Jorge, who the hotel recommended. We had a tour almost by ourselves, had a great garden breakfast afterwards before all the tourist buses arrived. Highly recommend to stay her before a visit to the Uxmal ruins.

United KingdomThe restaurant is huge so it always looks empty. The food was ok but nothing special for the price. It was definitely expensive compared to other places we ate in Yucatan and we stayed in the high end hotels. All the staff were lovely tho.
The property is huge and it is located next to the Uxmal Mayan ruins which was incredibly handy for site seeing. There are 5 buildings in this complex. Each has 8 rooms and even though it was 70% full we rarely saw anyone. I’m not sure this is a good/bad thing but it made us feel like we were the only customers. Our room was huge. We had the living area and the bathroom with a hot tub downstairs and the bed upstairs. The ceiling was very high. All the staff very absolutely lovely.

BelgiumIt’s close to the road from Merida and the windows do not have glass (only shutters and musquito nets. The sound of the trucks is very boring. I also missed a place to meet, have a drink, read some books, …, a kind of lobby.
The location next to the Uxmal archeological site, the setting and the swimming pools. Diner & food were very ok and good value.

United StatesThe restaurant was expensive and the options were very limited. The two entrées were quite good but they clearly catered to the touring crowds with more Americanized meals. At Breakfast they were great about allowing you to customize your food order, however.
Location. Just across the street from the Uxmal ruins. The staff were also helpful and gracious. ‘

AustraliaNothing!
Wow, literally across the road from the Uxmal entrance - you honestly can't get closer. The grounds are beautiful and so, so peaceful. It was lovely to hear the jungle noises at night. (Although this does mean bugs! But you're in the jungle!) It was quiet the night we were there so the staff were incredibly attentive (although I imagine they'd be exactly the same if the hotel was fully booked out.) Food was great, quickly prepared and delicious flavours. Breakfast was huge - we couldn't eat everything that was given to us!

IsraelThe water in the shower took forever to go down the drain. But the water temp and pressure were good. The restaurant had good food - a little pricey, but understandable since there was nowhere else to eat.
The location was amazing - literally 5 steps to the Uxmal ruins. The hotel grounds were beautiful. The size of the room was huge and comfortable for a family of 4. The mosquito nets on the bed were welcome. The service was very good.

BelgiumThe restaurant is overpriced and they know that you are a captive audience. The internet was intermittently working.
The property is literally outside the entrance of Uxmal. The room or as described “a bungalow “ was spacious. Access to them was less easy and involved lots of stairs and lugging of suitcases. Parking is available behind the building. There are two pools but you will be snacked on by mosquitoes.

In a fantastic position just across from the entrance to Uxmal site. Lovely room and area to sit outside. We arrived in a downpour which lasted several hours so were not able to use the lovely pools.
