Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumWe arrived after midnight so did not get much explanation about the facilities and there was no help with the suitcases up 2 flights of stairs to the room.
Comfortable 3 storey apartment rooms with a balcony and view into to the tropical trees. Located on the beach with good facilities and very friendly staff. Choice of a Mexican or Italian specialty restaurant in addition to the standard restaurant with the “all inclusive” formula.

PolandFood was not amazing, it was ok, but nothing special taking into account it was all incl. we could not have breakfast to go on a trip day, only some coffee after 6 am up to 7. Also it was not much different, you could expect to have at least 50% of the same food as a day before. Even though it was ok.
The place was simply amazing. Beautiful nature, jungle and view. Very natural, supporting nature and natural environment. The staff was very nice and supportive, but we had to be also patient.

NetherlandsIt is annoying that immediately after the check-in, one of the hosts wants to talk about the club and invite us to go to a presentation to know more about it. After the flight, the only thing you want is to wear the swiming suit and start enjoying the holidays.

United StatesThey didn't had waiters walking around the pool area asking if we wanted something to drink. The buffet was simple. The reserve restaurants are understaffed it took them 3 hours to get our food and we still left without getting out supper. Didn't reserved again preferred to go the buffet to eat.
The location, was good, walk ways were clean. Loved the snack bar some fast food items that was nice.

GermanyWhile the food has good flavors the presentation in the buffet is not good. Restaurant inside has no air conditioning. Extremely disappointed that you can’t use the themed restaurants everyday instead only 1 each 4 nights. There is no mezcal in the offer.
Fantastic beach, good size pools, has its own harbor for tour pick ups or scuba diving excursions.

United KingdomWe were either very unlucky with who we had staying either side of us or the walls are very thin! The layout of the pool areas meant you could hear music from both pools and the restaurant. It didn’t make for a relaxing environment and at times felt like you were at an all day party. The gym is very small - it was very difficult for two people to be in there at the same time. Upon check out, there are no showering facilities - leading to either having to pay the extra money have your room longer or cooling down in the lobby and changing in the toilets - not great if you have a night flight. It was also quite concerning to see the staff using 100’s of black plastic bags daily to remove the seaweed from the beachfront - not very environmentally friendly and where is it all dumped afterwards?
The decor style of the hotel was very fitting for its location. The staff work very hard and are very friendly.

CanadaThe Italian restaurant was below average at best, although the Mexican restaurant was very good. Lots of noise can be heard outside the rooms from early in the morning (not sure if staff or other guests?). Even with earplugs in we were woken up most mornings due to outside Influence.
We liked the smaller vibe and all the trees/foliage throughout the resort. The buffet was good, and changed enough every day so that we didn't get tired of it. Pedro in the upstairs late bar was very efficient and very friendly, Uzi at the lower beach bar was so nice, and we also loved Antonio in the buffet and young Alexis in the prebooked restaurants! Everything was very clean, and the front desk staff were super helpful whenever we had questions. The dive shop on site was a huge bonus as we were planning on diving in the area, and they were all very nice and professional as well.

GuatemalaCleaning staff is really loud. You won't be able to sleep past 9 am. I tried to even with a hangover and I could hear them moving forniture around and talking. It didn't happen only to me. Make sure to point this out when booking so maybe you do not encounter this issue. Food at lunch time and breakfast is a hit or miss in the buffet. Dinner is fine in the buffet. You can do a reservation for a Mexican or Italian restaurant for dinner. I tried the Mexican one and it is ok. Food 7/10 Bar/party stops at 2 am which is not good if you are really into partying. Volleyball net is not available all day. Only from 4pm to 5 pm. Snack restaurant near the pool do not expect much (fries, nachos, pizza, burgers).

BrazilDont pay for premium!!! The restaurant wasnt very good with poor options. including the italian (breakfast was ok). They only have one type of wine (red ou white) and it was not good at all. Premium is not worth it as they dont offer better options if you drink wine. They have a big problem with not enough waiters and not enough wine glasses! Often at night we couldnt drink anything because there were no glasses at the bar. And we payed Premium! When you ask for wine at the bar next to the pool they give you a normal plastic cup that tastes like a previus drink somebody had had before you. They dont wash it properly! We also had difficulties to arrange bedchairs at the beach. They dont control whos occuping the premium reserved area and all the bedchairs are occupied by flipflops ou towells when you get there.
The surroundings are beaufiful, the beach also great. Clean rooms.

United StatesThe only complaint I would have, actually I have two. The workout room is in BAD need of an upgrade. Too small and horrible equipment. I go to the gym daily, and this is the only thing that would keep me from coming back. 2) the room could use a dresser. Not enough good storage for our clothes in the room. I like to put things away, and I like drawers. Not a huge issue, but it would be great!
The grounds were great, and for the price, this place cannot be beat! We walked to Playa, we walked the beach, food was on par if not a little bit better than most in not all all-inclusives in this price range. We want to go back.

SwedenThis hotel has SO MUCH POTENTIAL to be better just by changing or fixing som minor things, it’s such a shame it hasn’t already. The rooms are a bit run down which is common in tropical areas with a lot of moist and rough weather, but some things, like curtains with holes in it or dirty bed curtains should be changed, no excuse for that. And the metal chairs on the balcony that were eroded and left black marks on our clothes (we asked to changed them). Otherwise the room was cleaned everyday and the bedding and bathroom was clean. The food could also be better. It was not as bad as we expected after reading previous comments, there were a few good surprises, for example the BBQ for lunch everyday at the buffet we found really tasty, it’s a shame there isn’t any bbq for dinner, that would make the dinner a lot better. There were two restaurants you could book for dinner, mexican and italian, they want it to be a ”fine dining” experience but it’s just a bit stiff and the food there isn’t any fine food at all when it comes to quality. It would be a lot better to just notch up the quality of the buffet dinner. The pool and beach area could also with a few improvements feel like luxury hotel. Instead of the blue parasols and sunbeds (half of the sunbeds at the beach area reaaally run down/broken and should be changed immediately) they should change it to white and beige just like in the premium sections and the hotel would get a boutique feeling instantly since the surroundings is so beautiful. To include coffee maker in the room only in the premium package just feels stupid and cheap. At least they should have a pot for tea (couldn’t heat water for baby formula and didn’t get one when we asked for it). Lastly this isn’t the hotels fault at all but worth mentioning - Playacar suffers from severe beach erosion (we stayed here beginning of january 2025).
Great location in Playacar, a beautiful gated community which offered a pleasant and safe 15-20 minute walk to the centre of Playa del Carmen. First in a row of big hotels, this hotel felt like a smaller and more intimate choice compared to the rest. The hotel area with its houses and walkways through the jungle environment is stunning. The pool area was also not too big so you could access the beach easy. The buffet restaurant is also designed nicely with different areas to sit whether you want to sit inside, half-inside or outside and we could always get a table were we preferred, which was on the outside terrace. We traveled with a 1,5 year old and got a room in the house closest to the pool/beach and restaurant, without asking for it, and we are very grateful for that since it made everything a lot easier for us with our kid. Baby chairs were always available and there are ramps almost everywhere except for the last stairs to the beach (we only carried a stroller to the beach once and didn’t think this was a problem but for someone who wants to carry a stroller to the beach all the time it’s worth mentioning, not that it’s very easy to drive a stroller in the sand anyway). All in all we had a great stay.

United KingdomWe didn’t like to see that we would have to pay more to get more food options in the restaurant… Pool tables are broken and need some attention, after all people pay a lot of money to stay in the hotel… The pressure that some guy made in their presentation in coco hotel was silly and even if I was confused, that made me decide not to purchase and holidays pack from them…
Breakf was amazing, lunch and dinner need to be much better… not many options apart of Mexican cuisine… for kids barely options other than nuggets? This was on the buffet option… we managed to book for the restaurants for a few nights and food was great! We loved to see the wild animals going around us in the middle of the hotel. There was a problem with our shower and was fixed in less than 30m, well done!

CanadaThe music is usually way too loud in the restaurants, it can be hard to have a conversation and, depending where you sit, the restaurant music and pool music can both be heard which is just chaotic.
We liked the size of the resort, there was enough to do and it was easy for our group members to find each other or have some space if we wanted it. The beach is excellent - white sand for miles and some sand bars when you swim out which keeps playing in the waves fun and interesting. Waves were small some days but quite large when it was windy, again, keeping it interesting. The frontage of the beach changed a lot as waves brought sand in and pulled it out over the days of our visit. Lots of chairs on the beach and at the pools but you do want to throw a towel over them before 8 am if you want your preferred seats. Sunrise is pretty and peaceful. The proximity to 5th ave was great for some shopping and people watching. The New Years Eve party was incredible- the resort went all out with entertainment and decorations, we felt very VIP. The snack bar was so great for our kids and there were several options for getting drinks and food throughout the day. The buffet had plenty of options, and we booked the Italian and Mexican restaurants a few times for a bit of a change. Our group preferred the buffet but appreciated the 4 course meals in the a la carte restaurants. Staff were very friendly and the vibe was great. The grounds are well kept and really nice with lighted walkways through the jungle and a seating area next to a small cenote/waterfall. The contrast between the pool/beach and the jungle is nice as the jungle is quieter and cooler. We would totally recommend this resort. We are a blended family with 4 kids aged 21-15 and we loved our 11 days over Xmas/New Years 2024/25.
