Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. United KingdomNOTHING everything was perfection.
I mean let's begin with the people because these guys are angels! Such great, on-it and sweet staff, Arturo, Jorge, Luis Miguel, the whole team at the restaurant. They made my stay absolutely perfect and incomparable. Then, the place is just a temple on top of a Cenote and you can feel the energy and vibe coming from underneath.

CanadaWe stayed at The Yellow Nest for one night to celebrate my 40th Birthday. I wish we could have stayed longer. Even before we arrived the concierge contacted me with all necessary information and details on how to find them. We were greeted by Ramses, a newer concierge to the team; he was energetic and great to talk with, given welcome drinks and he also gave us a tour of the grounds after we had a quick shower to cool off! AMAZING! We stayed in a villa with a/c and a private pool. The villa was beautifully decorated, comfortable and much larger than I expected. Miguel, the other concierge, I cannot stay enough about! He had so much information about the surrounding area and the history. These two along with the rest of the staff (sorry I cannot remember names) really made you feel welcome and part of the family. We did luck out as it was low season, so they weren't overly busy! We had dinner on site and the food was delicious and nice sized portions! In the morning we had their floating breakfast (highly recommended) in a gorgeous setting. I should add that you can book the floating breakfast without staying there, and you won't be disappointed! Post breakfast Miguel took us on a cenote tour that was indescribable. Had we gone alone we wouldn't have found half the areas he brought us to in the underground paradise. We returned to Yellow Nest after visiting the cenote to take part of a traditional temazcal ceremony, led by Miguel, which left us feeling at peace and even more intrigued about the Mayan traditions. When it came time to leave, we were sad, but grateful for the connections we made, amd we can't wait to return to spend a few nights, as one wasn't enough! Thanks Yellow Nest for making my 40th Birthday one of the best yet!

GermanyThe outdoor pool and terrace by our room could have used a quick clean before our arrival. The air conditioning stopped working early in the morning around 5:30 AM, which was a bit inconvenient - but we understand that small issues like this can happen anywhere.
This place is truly a hidden gem - beautifully decorated and incredibly cozy, nestled right in the heart of the bush. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and kind, especially the concierge, Arturo. The way he treated us made us feel truly special! The steam bath (Temazcal) took us on a profound spiritual journey and awakened our inner healing. We were lucky enough to experience it twice at 2 PM, as arriving early and leaving late was no issue at all - even though we had only booked one night. They really care about their guests!!! Both pools were fantastic, and the food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious - especially the tropical salad. We also had the floating breakfast, which was made even more special with a sparkler surprise in the middle of the basket to celebrate my husband's birthday. The Yellow Nest is within walking distance of Cenote Taak Bi Ha, one of the most beautiful cenotes in Yucatán. If you're planning to stay at The Yellow Nest, I highly recommend booking at least two nights and enjoying both the dinner and the floating breakfast for a well-rounded experience.

Thank you Dante, Arturo, Jorge, and everyone else who made our vacation an amazing one. We will come back!

BrazilNot all rooms have air conditioning. This was expected and didn't affect our stay, but it is worth mentioning for those not used to the hot weather from the region. WiFi is not reliable, which was also not a problem for us.
We had an awesome stay there for our honeymoon. Hotel is clean, and very beautiful in the middle of the forest! Great for relaxing and disconnecting. The highlight is the service: Arturo, Jorge, and all other employees are VERY responsive and super kind, they should be very well rewarded for their exceptional work! Food is insanely good, 10/10. We loved it from the beginning, and would definitely come back! Gracias por todo!

The Yellow Nest Tulum was one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature, and the rooms are clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The natural pool was a highlight for us—it’s the perfect place to relax and cool off. The whole property is well taken care of and has a calm, welcoming atmosphere. We also loved the yoga classes with Gaby. She’s an excellent instructor who created a supportive and positive environment. Practicing yoga in such a quiet, natural space really helped us start each day feeling relaxed and refreshed. The staff made our experience even more special. They were so friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay great. They surprised us with a private candlelit dinner and bonfire, where we roasted marshmallows for dessert. They also organized a private temazcal experience, which was really unique and meaningful. A big thank you to Jorge, Dante, Sebastián, Joshimar, Arturo, and Gaby for going above and beyond. Their hospitality made this our favorite trip to Tulum.

United KingdomAs others have said-the road going to it would be a lot more easier to access if it was paved however it didn’t affect us as we just drove slowly. Air conditioning in the nests would be a cherry on top. Also bits of rubbish picked up along the road, in the front car park, and by the side of the pools (down where Frank the iguana sat ) could be addressed, however, I am a bit OCD! Also it appears they can take 30 day guests each day, which if we were the kind of people to sit around a pool all day might get a little bit busy, but from what we saw they were respectful and quiet. I love the fact they could drop you off if you didn’t have a car, but access to the bikes and them kept in better maintenance would’ve been good so we could have a bike ride
Everything. It was absolutely perfect relaxation in the jungle. The food was incredible. Especially chef Julio who did us a five star signature meal and it was perfect. Every day they went way and beyond to give us the best food ever the flavours were the best I’ve ever tasted. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make it the most perfect stay ever. Absolutely loved the morning yoga with Gabby and the massage she gave. Dante upgraded us on her last night to a villa, which was amazing. There were so many birds and wildlife Loved every unique bit about it

United KingdomIt does feel a long way from anywhere because it is at the end of a rough road. But if you talk to the manager he will organise transport for you in the nature reserve.
It is in a nature reserve which makes it very quiet at night. The staff were very good, especially Dante the manager. Highly recommend the horse riding and Cenotes trip you can do locally.

FranceA true little slice of paradise in the middle of the jungle! The hotel is perfectly located to explore the most beautiful cenotes in the area (some are even accessible on foot or by bike, which the hotel kindly provides). The room is super cozy and peaceful — waking up to the sound of birds in the morning is just magical. The two pools are stunning, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The staff and concierge service? Absolutely amazing! Friendly, helpful, and always making sure everything is perfect. We were lucky enough to celebrate a very special moment there, and they welcomed us with such kindness and made it possible in this incredible setting. If you’re looking for a place to truly unwind, recharge, and make the most of your vacation — this is it!

DenmarkThe road to get there is very bad - but it is a part of the experience when you go to the middle of the jungle!
This was the highlight of our trip. The atmosphere is amazing, it is an oasis in the middle of the jungle. So quiet and peaceful yet very comfortable. Beautiful nature all around. Two pools, one in the sun and one in the shade. Also a free Mayan sauna. We had the villa which was amazingly decorated, water pressure very good. We received welcome drinks when arrived. You will have to eat at the hotels restaurant but it is very very good! Prizes are fair for the good quality and amount of food. Morning yoga so fun! And most importantly - the staff were absolutely fantastic and we felt so welcome and well taken care of. Iguana’s are btw a part of the crew. There is cenotes in the area you can walk to.

United KingdomIt's pretty far into the jungle and along a rugged road, but once you know when you're heading out and heading back, you are good to go.
We went here on our honeymoon, and we can say that this was the highlight. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel important, special and looked after - from decorations to breakfasts to romantic dinners. The laid-back atmosphere, the INCREDIBLE food and drinks (honestly, some of the best sitting our 16 days in Mexico), the peace and quiet, the severity... It was all like nothing we've ever experienced.

We stayed for 8 days and it was probably the most relaxing days of my life. Lounging by our pool all day and relaxing was so amazing. The staff was super attentive. The food wonderful. My biggest fear with giving this review is that this place is fully booked next time we come to stay. Nothing like it. Absolute jungle bliss. We did the yoga and meditation even though it was new to us and enjoyed marshmallows over a nightly fire. If you are looking to relax look no further. You will need a car. So many beaches are close and at your finger tips. The beach hotels are loud and have music. This was zen all the way through. A very special stay and place. We will be back to recharge again.

United KingdomThe check-in process was not as smooth as we had hoped. The breakdown of costs was unclear, and the conversion added an unexpected extra £20 to the total. They emphasised the importance of a 2000 pesos deposit, but in the end, they forgot to charge us for it. Additionally, our room key was missing, and we didn’t receive one until the second day, around lunchtime, after we chased for it. Initially, we were told there was no key, and we were made to feel like we should just leave the door unlocked. After several follow-ups, we were told the key had been taken to make a copy (which seemed reasonable), but then we were told room service had another one. When I suggested they give us that key in the meantime, since we didn’t need room service, they claimed they didn’t actually have it. A few minutes later, however, a key miraculously appeared, delivered with a hint of frustration. Would have been nice to be given a tour upon arrival, told about breakfast, yoga, sauna options and told where and what everything is but that did not happen. One of the staff kindly did that when asked but as with everything, it felt like we had to ask first. Another frustrating surprise was discovering that the breakfast we had paid for was not the full breakfast option. There was a second breakfast option, which was an additional charge, and it had a noticeable difference in quality and presentation (I attached two pictures fir reference). The included breakfast was served without much attention to detail, while the paid breakfast was beautifully plated. This stark contrast made us feel misled, as we had assumed everything was included. You could see the frustration on people’s faces and honestly the management should look into changing this. On the service front, only two staff members spoke English, which was fine, but other staff would often say “yes” to requests they didn’t fully understand.
Beautiful location, right in the middle of the jungle - quiet and far from the noisy part of Tulum. About 25 minute drive to get to Tulum town or Tulum riviera. Reliable internet connection everywhere, including rooms, restaurant area and by the pool. They offer yoga sessions daily at 8am and sauna & meditation at 2pm. You are however asked for donations/ tip, which overall is not unheard of, but I would have preferred if it wasn’t as suggestive. A place for people to forget the noise of the city and relax completely. A number of cenotes easily accessible and nearby, as long as you have a car. We have not taken them upon the offer because we had a car but the staff offer to take you there or drive you to the main road where you can get a bus to Tulum town every 30 min (not sure if payment/ tip is expected for the service). Relaxing music all over the premise. Not a problem for us, but people might want to know that the road leading to the property is a long 3km dirt road. First 2k is the main dirt road, followed by a second one to the left which is slightly more challenging to navigate. Google maps location of Yellow Nest shows at the end of the 2k but in fact you need to drive 1km further to the left to get there. Well enough sign posted though. Parking lot is well lit and accommodates about 12 cars. Beautiful grounds and the design of the entire place was well thought through.
