Nothing. Everything is well worth it

The room was very comfortable. Beds were exactly how I like the mattress to be. View was great. No noise. The most friendly and helpful staff yiu can imagine. Easy access to downtown and other points of interest. Would definitely stay again.

Most people stay in the city of Oaxax itself, but we wanted some relax time at the pool so we stayed up on the hill. It's only a 5 minute drive by taxi to get there and the hotel provide shuttles back and forth from 6PM so it's no problem. In the heat - it's totally worth it to have the pool!

The area was fantastic, the pool was fantastic - but reserve a spot early if you want to spend the day there as there are limited beds, the staff so friendly and kind. Everything was really clean and easy. I was really happy with our booking!

WiFi access was via What’sApp. Only one key per guest. Pool shows it’s age ( first world problem considering it was huge and beautiful but the rest of the town was in much need of water.

Nice place. Definitely 5 star service. The Sunday breakfast was exceptional. The pool is huge. Location iseasy to get in and out of

The Victoria's location is a mixed blessing. We enjoyed having a retreat above and outside Centro, but walking between the two is a bit of an adventure because crossing the main road between them is hair-raising. Not a problem if you are relying on taxis or the shuttle bus. We did walk it quite a few times in the cooler parts of the day and got used to it. (Easier btw to walk to beautiful Xochimilco, which is closer and does not require crossing the big road).

Great service, friendly, clean - and the pool and gardens are lovely. (Some reviews complain that the pool needs updating. It's not pristine. But if you can stand a few chips in the concrete, it's a lot nicer than some more modern ones because it's spacious, meticulously cleaned, and surrounded by gardens. We loved it.) As others have said, some aspects of the hotel do have a rather worn and dated feel, not least the carpets which desperately need replacing. The plumbing could use some help as well. But it's a great deal, and we found it all charming.

It was difficult to climb up and down to the restaurant and pool area. The pool was in disrepair and it was a shame because all it needed was some tile work. Breakfast in the restaurant was lovely.

Lovely gardens beautiful view of the city. Rooms were clean. Bathrooms need updating.

I previously reviewed my stay at the hotel but missed to include a couple of items: - The room didn't have dark curtains, the sunlight came into the room at 6:00am very bright, not allowing us to sleep any longer. Please install dark curtains in all rooms for a better sleep. - In general, the staff was nice, but the service at the bar was slow, the pool was crowded, and nobody came to check on guests for food/drinks service. Service needs improvement!

Staff was excellent! The outdoor terrace has a great view and the bar area is very nice. The service is great and the location is close to the center of town but without the noise. We will stay there next time we visit Oaxaca.

Rooms were a little dated and worn. It was a hilly walk to get back from the Centre so had to rely on taxis but these were relatively cheap.

Friendly and helpful staff. Pool was nice but limited sunbeds. Restaurant food was nice and had some good Mexican options.

If you want to be central, this isn't the place for you. It was about 100 pesos in a cab to central (Oct 24). Shower was on the weaker side.

Loved this hotel and wish we had longer here. Great size room, away from the main centre but we preferred this. On a hill so lovely views of the mountains. Didn't eat or drink here but the facilities looked good. Staff were helpful and friendly and always on hand to call cabs etc. Room was big and the facilities were great.

The facilities are a little dated. It was clean but it could use a little updating. The restaurant was a little expensive.

The staff was extremely helpful. I really enjoyed the convenience of the shuttle service to and from centro. The view from my room was exceptional and the pool was an added bonus.

    Nothing

The hotel has a wonderful vibe. It’s situated high on a hill with great views over the city. The pool and villas give the place the feel of a resort. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly. We didn’t try the restaurant, as we preferred to walk the 20 minutes into town to get breakfast/dinner.

Food was always good and having a pool was a plus. Staff was friendly and caring. We were in HV in 2019 and my parents loved it, so when we returned to Oax, it was a must to book the hotel.

The pool could be better maintained. If the hotel fixes the broken tiles, it would make the pool much more inviting. I would have rested the hotel a 9.

The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The pool was nice and big. The ground was beautiful. Our room facing away from the street had a nice view of the forest and mountain. It was quiet. I had the best sleep there on my entire three weeks in Mexico. There is a wonderful Indian restaurant Senor Naan less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. It was so good we had dinner and then lunch the next day. Costa Benito run by a lovely family is an amazing, beautiful, authentic Oaxacan restaurant up on a hill behind the hotel. It's only an 11 minute walk but requires climbing a long, steep hill. Either need to be in good shape or best to take a taxi. The Chicatana (name of a flying ant specy that is an ingredient in the dish) was one of my favorite dishes on our trip. Very tasty! I learned after from our tour guide that there aren't many restaurants that serve the dish because it is labor intensive and difficult to make it taste good. So we were lucky the restaurant was by the hotel.
